My folks come here very often and they undergo full physicals and blood work with EKG sef.

I'll rather live here,pay for my health care and get paid a salary where I can live comfortably than that hell hole called Britain where hardworking professionals live in face me I face you apartments and call them homes then queue up with pick pocketing Eastern Europeans,Homeless Jamaicans and  419 Pakis to see Dr Patel whether I like him or not.
He is my GP,my neighborhood GP and I'm stuck with him and his colleagues.

Every one with no or little income can go there and be seen for almost nothing.
and you are not turned away from the emergency rooms either.
I have lived in England.
You say everyone is covered,that's not true.
are the illegal immigrants covered?

here they are not either by medicaid which is the equivalent of your NHS but they can go and register at a community health clinic and get a physical for $20.

I can bet you 40% of that money does not go toward health costs. . . . this is simple Mathematics. . . . in Britain, we pay a certain amount of tax for our Healthcare. . . . all of that money is spent on Health. . . . in America, you pay for Healthcare and insurance companies skim off 40% as profits on their balance sheet. . . . who is making sense here?. . . .to me, this is just another tax, and a heafty uneccessary one at that. . . .no wonder you guys always complain about Medicaid. . . . the fact is that if you take away the free market, universal Healthcare becomes cheaper. . . . . I repeat, Medicaid is not the true cost of Universal Healthcare. . . . under Universal Healthcare, you will pay less in "tax apportioned for healthcare" than you do for your premium.

Why do you think the receptionist asks for yourcoverage when you call up to make an appt?
There are offices for instance that don't take HMO Plans.
By that I mean you can call and they will not schedule you an appt because your insurance coverage is useless to them.
There are hospitals that don't take HMO plans.
Thre are physicians that'll take your HMO plan for treatment but you cannot use their in house labs or scans or even radiology units
why?
They can pick and choose what they can take and send you to some community hospital for your urine tests because it's not worth their while

Health insurance is not as simple as you and McCain see it.

Of course that is not what I am saying. What your employer is paying for now is also not treatment but coverage. The money paid last month was not for treatment I received, but for coverage in case of illness. It is simply the same thing. Just like car insurance, you can choose to have basic coverage, liability or comprehensive while also choosing your deductible. These options are not available now.

For instance, our health coverage pays for a yearly medical check-up. Now my Doctor told me 2 years agao that I am as healthy as can be and do not need to se him every year. So why am I paying for what I know I wont need for another 3 years or thereabout? My dental coverage pays for a vist every quarter and I know I only visited once last year, and still trying to sort out my vist this year. Why is all that money going to waste?

let's remember it's a $5,000 tax credit not $5,000 check which to people that earn more and single unmarried would mean nothing by the time the whole tax pluses and minuses are computed.

anything to help your premiums come lower and keeping what you have is a million times better than someone giving you a tax credit of $5,000 to go shopping for health care.
