Go to Akwaibom, the Ibom specialist clinic built n commissioned by akpabio, there is an abandoned facility in that complex, when Udom came in, in the transition documents the project was 100% completed, commissioned and opened to the public, meanwhile most contractors were not paid, the second building wasnt fully equipped, they just hurriedly commissioned the first building cos He(Akpabio) was rounding up his tenure as governor.

Every POS terminal is registered with a bvn, NIN and it has an identity.
If you think they used a POS terminal to scam, withdraw ur funds, then the money in that account will first be transferred to another account that has a registered details from BVN, NIN n his/her address. If CBN has not solved any of these issues in the past, then this new whatever will never solve crime, kidnapping and fraudsters doing their thing.
We have the most nonchalant institutions that r not ready to solve simple bank issues.
Common to rectify fail transactions n wrong transactions, na wahala...
Your only solution to common issues is to shut down the entire system so nobody can operate.

Background

Everybody wants government to maintain highways, but nobody wants government to make the money to maintain the highways.

Once upon a time, long ago, government tolled the highways in order to generate the funds that it would use to maintain them.

However, over the years, there were claims that the toll operators were corrupt and that they did not remit the funds to the government. Private companies were hired to run the toll plazas but the allegations of corruption continued.

Therefore, sometime around 2004, the Obasanjo Administration demolished the toll plazas. The government decided that it would impose a petrol tax and use that money to maintain the expressways, instead of relying on tolls.

(Some people believe that the demolition of the toll plazas led to the deterioration of highways like the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway).

President Obasanjo included the tax in the appropriation bill (budget) and he wanted to start collecting it before the budget was passed by the National Assembly.

However, the tax was opposed by many people.

Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos opposed it and threatened to sue the Federal Government and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) agreed with him. The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), led by Adams Oshiomhole, threatened to go on strike and both the Senate president and the speaker of the House of Representatives expressed opposition to the tax.

President Obasanjo decided to pause implementation of the tax, due to the opposition to it. The tax was included in the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) Act of 2007, but the act states that the implementation of the tax will begin on a date to be determined by the Minister of Finance.

In other words, it is not a new tax and it will not commence on January 1st. The reason that some people believe that it's a new tax is because a new tax law (that harmonised all taxes) was recently enacted and this old tax was mentioned in the law.

There is also road tax being paid by commercial drivers daily, we still have tickets sales by states, local n even some communities..

Most Nigerian governments did not want to do total subsidy removal. Even tinubu, his own total removal was forced by high debts. So they do partial removal.

What buhari did re subsidy is what GEJ, Yaradua, Obasanjo, et Al did. Partial removals .

Even with the previous 50k era that is ending today, in Calabar na 85k we just paid to procure a new passport, my friend said she paid 75k in abuja to get hers.
Increment in Nigeria doesn't equate to effectiveness, even with the electricity tarriff increment, light isnt stable, even with fuel increment, there r still subtly paying subsidies and there is still corruption with the volume of fuel we consume.
Increasing passport price will not metamorphose to effectiveness n good service delivery, it is another way of taxing the poor just to enrich the looters.

A lady in my street woke us all up one morning on her way to a commercial bank saying hell would let loose that day. She was so bitter and furious that all efforts to calm her were met with more aggression

We were able to calm her down and she opened up to us that her savings account where she left about 8mil was showing a balance of 79,000 despite having not used the account since March.

I requested her phone and saw a series of debit alerts which she claimed she had no idea about, but all had this mysterious narration "ONLINE PAYMENT". She said she had never used her account or card for any such thing, that it was definitely the bank, and she was going to raze the Bank to the ground.

With her permission, I decided to check her Play store, and found out her card had been set up on Play store for subscriptions on an app that was used to design Avatars (can't remember the name now). The subscription had been ongoing for over 6 months, with debits as much as 285k. Upon further checks on her device, I saw the said app, with a well setup profile, and about 3k followers.

I inquired of her about the App and she said it was a cartoon app the daughter uses. We summoned the daughter (a shy 12yo) and asked about it, and she said it was just another social media app she used to kill boredom. I asked if she was aware of the subscriptions and the child said yes, but she thought it was "fake money."

I asked if she had access to her mum's debit card and pin, she said yes, that she was the one who setup the subscriptions, but didn`t know it was actual funds been utilized. The mum nearly had a stroke.

My point? As Imperfect as the world may seem, we should always give ourselves the benefit of a doubt. When I come across posts like this, I just laugh, especially when I see the comparisons and aspersions been cast. Sometimes, just sometimes, we should sit back and think these things through, before we comment or act.

In as much as such things happens most times, but how will you absolve the bank of successful deposit, alert received but no changes in your bank account?
Me and my babe have 55k hanging with Standard chartered bank, we used their Atm card to withdraw on Unity bank Atm, 5 times we had issuer or interswitch issues, we were debited, 5 different times, 55k gone since last year when there was cash scarcity.
We have called, complain, and send mails, they acknowledged it but till today no reversal, nothing.
You know who i blame in all these, CBN, Fcfcc etc.
Every year banks keep making outrageous profits at the expense of customers failed transactions.
Another nig thieves in the financial sector are those in NIBSS, they r the third party in every transactions between 2 different banks.
