MadamExcellency:

If the Governor wins in the Supreme Court, they will all decamp to PDP. Nigerian Politicians are not opposition when they see money.
even if they don’t decamp to Pdp, they will never impeach governor mutfwang in power. On what basis will governor mutfwang impeached? All of them will work tirelessly for governor mutfwang to succeed in governance in plateau state.

Apc now has 17 members, pdp 5,lp 1,ypp 1.even if the governor wins at supreme court,he will be impeached
Governor mutfwang of Pdp will rule well and not impeached if he wins in the Supreme Court of justice. When Aregbesola won in 2010 in the Court of Appeal in ibadan, it’s the Pdp that formed majority of the lawmakers in the Osun State house of Assembly. Infact in the end of Aregbesola first term, Aregbesola wasn’t impeached. Aregbesola did two terms and handover to Oyetola that did one term in government. So saying governor mutfwang winning in the Supreme Court of justice and also be coming the governor of plateau State will caused series of explosions in the plateau house of Assembly won’t suffice at all. Their will be much cordial relationship between the executive and the legislative arm of government in plateau state

Politics / Re: List Of Governors Who Defied Godfatherism by Politicstoday: 7:28am On Nov 25, 2023
Melagros:
The political dynamics in Nigeria is dramatic and full of setbacks, some governors resisted the gentleman's agreement they had with their godfathers and made headway, unfortunately, others could not!
Please permit me to be brief/to summarise

KATSINA STATE: Shema vs. Yar'adua; Shema defied Yar'adua orders, sacks SSG who's Yar'adua's relative

ADAMAWA STATE: Atiku vs Haruna; when Atiku became the vice president and he wanted to dictate leadership for Boni Haruna but the later resisted and served his people

GOMBE STATE: Goje vs. Dankwambo; after Goje worked hard for Dankwambo to succeed him to pilot the affairs of the state thinking is gonna be a smooth ride but his boy rebelled against his boss which till date they are not in good terms

AKWA IBOM STATE: Attah vs. Akpabio; Akpaboi who's the current Nigeria's senate president also had altercations with his former boss

AKWA IBOM STATE: Akpabio vs. Udom; Udom had dished out what Akpabio dished to Attah

ABIA STATE: Kalu vs. Orji; when Kalu wanted to remote-control Orji, but Orji almost killed the political career of Kalu in Abi State

ANAMBRA STATE: The Ubas vs Ngige; if Ngige is not a strong politician the Ubas could have messed him up in that state

EDO STATE: Oshiomhole vs Obaseki; Obaseki warned Oshiomhole that Edo State is not Lagos, immediately Oshiomhole behaved himself

RIVERS STATE: Ameachi vs Odili; Ameachi silenced Odili's political career in Rivers State

RIVERS STATE: Obj vs Ameachi; Ameachi defied Obasanjo's 'K leg' syndrome and became a governor

DELTA STATE: Uduaghan vs Okowa; when Okowa became governor citizens thought that Okowa would become a 'boy-boy' for the former, but Uduaghan was silent throughout the tenure of Okowa

RIVERS STATE: Wike vs Fubara; currently Fubara is on the final phase of sealing political domination of his predecessor

KADUNA STATE: El'Rufai vs Uba; Uba has already sent El'Rufai packing from the politics of Kaduna State and El'Rufai is on exile right now

KANO STATE: Kwankwaso vs Ganduje; unless it takes the intervention of God Ganduje has shredded the political career of his former boss

IMO STATE: Okorocha vs Uzodinma; Uzodinma has sentenced the political structure of Okorocha to life imprison

However, the case was different for some governors who tried to defy their godfathers orders and those governors received the greatest humiliation of their life/political careers

LAGOS STATE: Tinubu vs Ambode; Tinubu dealt with Ambode mercilessly to the extent that Tinubu forbade Ambode from succeeding for second term

LAGOS STATE: ...what was the circumstance that led to the elimination of Funsho Williams from the political arena of Lagos state?

LAGOS STATE: Tinubu vs Osinbanjo; Tinubu prevented Osinbanjo from succeeding Buhari

OYO STATE: Ibadan big boy vs Ladoja; when Rasheed Ladoja tried to challenge his godfather, Ladoja was humiliated with impeachment

OYO STATE:...what was the mystery behind the assassination of Bola Ige?

OGUN STATE: Obasanjo vs Osoba; Obasanjo allotted only one tenure for Osoba for trying to defy his orders

OGUN STATE: Obasanjo vs Bankole; Obasanjo vowed that in his life time, Bankole will never rule Ogun State and it's playing out

OSUN STATE: Aregbosola vs Oyetola; when the later dared the former, one term became his national anthem

KWARA STATE: Saraki (sr) vs Adesina; since godfatherism exists in that state, Lam Adesina served that state only one tenure, Saraki (sr) removed him and replaced him with Saraki (jn)

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen
Thank you all

op edit the Kwara state own, you are very wrong. The late Saraki senior, Senator Olusola Saraki sent Ex Governor Lawal packing why allowing his son Senator Bukola Saraki to be governor and do 8 years in government.

Their so called democracy is a big scam if you asked me here. During the military era, such things like this won’t have happen. They only make used of their democracy to steal, kill and destroyed. Upon the state Governor they have in Kogi State, still things aren’t done well, even the citadel of learning are in comatose state and heavy billions of naira are been budgeted for this kind of project every year. It’s very unfortunate situation in Kogi State.

garfield1 you can see what the appeal court is saying now that it will favour APC. It is no longer about dumping evidence on the tribunal. Suddenly, they remember the part of the law that empowers them to grant probative values to INEC documents. Why was this lacking in nasarawa

hopefully the Supreme Court of justice upturned the Appeal court judgement on Nasarawa, Kano, Kaduna and Plateau States. Inec should be blame most

I think that’s what he will do if tinubu still retained him till 2027 poll

The judgement followed an appeal that was brought before the court by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the election, Khalid Abdulmalik-Ningi.

INEC had declared that Suleiman of the PDP polled a total of 16, 866 votes to defeat his closest rival, Abdulmalik-Ningi of the APC, who scored 15, 065 votes in the election that was held on March 18.

PDP is the one INEC is judged to be favouring against Asiwaju Tinubu's party o. Will the sore losers still not blame Asiwaju Tinubu if he sacks the INEC Boss?
let’s be truths to ourselves, Inec institution under Professor Mahmoud Yakubu destroyed our electoral system in Nigeria politics. He should resign from that seat. He has performed below expectation. He’s a liar and deceiver.

Politics / 2023 Elections: Appeal Court Slams INEC, Says It Acted Irresponsibly by Politicstoday: 6:43pm On Nov 24, 2023
...sacks Bauchi Speaker, orders rerun in 10 polling units

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Friday, descended heavily on the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, INEC, accusing it of being partisan.

The appellate court said it was embarrassing that the Commission could appear before it to act in favour of a party in an election dispute, by disowning documents that it not only issued but also duly certified.

It decried that the electoral body has continued to “dance naked in the market,” even though it was meant to assume a neutral stand in election litigations.

The INEC as an institution should be reminded of its role in an election; to be an unbiased umpire between parties.

“It should stop behaving irresponsibly, having in mind that its duty to conduct election has a direct bearing on peace and well-being of the country.

“The role of INEC in election dispute should be limited to the tendering of all the documents used in an election and explaining what they were used for and how they were obtained.

INEC should stop dancing naked in the market, pretending that no one is seeing its unclothedness and its dancing steps,” the court stated while delivering judgment in a Bauchi State House of Assembly election appeal.

The lead judgement of a three-member panel of the court was delivered by Justice K. I. Amadi.

The panel, in its unanimous decision, nullified the election of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, who was earlier declared the winner of Ningi Central Constituency in the state, by INEC.

The court held that evidence before it established that the election was inconclusive.

Aside from voiding the Certificate of Return that was issued to Suleiman who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the appellate court directed INEC to conduct a supplementary poll in 10 polling units in the state, within 90 days.

The court further awarded a cost of N500,000 against INEC.

However, dissatisfied with the outcome of the election, the APC candidate lodged a petition before the State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal.

The petitioner, among other things, alleged that the results of the election were cancelled due to over-voting or corrupt practices.

Even though INEC which was a Respondent in the matter, denied the claim that there was over-voting, it failed to produce any witness before the tribunal which eventually dismissed the petition.

While faulting the decision of the tribunal, the appellate court noted that the Appellant brought nine witnesses who testified in respect of the various polling units and also tendered certified copies of INEC documents to support his case.

It held that going by Section 137 of the Electoral Act 2022, the certified INEC documents were enough to sustain the allegation that the election was not conducted in compliance with the provisions of the law.

The court wondered why INEC denied that the results of the election were cancelled in some polling units when its officials established the same fact in Forms EC 40G that they signed and submitted to it.

It held that the tribunal was statutorily empowered to accord probative value to the INEC documents which it said disclosed all information required to prove the alleged non-compliance.

It isn't so difficult. If you believe the appeal court does not have the jurisdiction, then don't file an appeal against the judgenent at the Superman court.

Sebi Femi Falana (SAN) has said by virtue of the CTC, Aba Yusuf is the rightful governor, stay on it.
he has filed his appeal on the error correction on CTC copies. “Any application for correction of errors can only be entertained by the supreme court. Section 285(7) of the Constitution earlier referred to becomes very handy and imperative to the effect that the court of appeal cannot take any further step in the appeal or subject after the expiration of sixty (60) days.”

It’s the Supreme Court of justice that has the jurisdiction in the law to correct errors in the CTC true copies of judgement in the court
