The former vice president maintained, “As Justice Dattijo Muhammad said in his valedictory speech, which has also been buttressed by Olumide Akpata, the immediate past President of the Nigerian Bar Association, the judgements emanating from courts in recent times have been questionable and show obvious compromise.

“As Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) put it recently, the judiciary under military dictatorship was much more courageous and had better integrity than what we have today.

“It is obvious that the APC has turned the once respected Nigerian judiciary to a ‘cash and carry’ one where politicians who don’t participate in primaries are named as candidates while actual winners of elections are sacked for flimsy reasons. They simply deliver judgements but not justice.”

Wow

This is the beauty of democracy

All these can never be made public in a military regime

25 years after Abacha's demise, we are still recovering his loot. If he were still alive, he'd still be enjoying it like IBB and co.
A lot of big things were done in the Abacha regime now . Even far more than the clueless democratic system of government we are practicing for the past 24 years now.

Military government is the best, it’s very hard to find this kind of extravagant spending in the military system of government unlike their clueless democratic system of government in Nigeria and Africa in general. As far as I’m concerned, Nigeria democratic system of government will never work cos’ of looting set of elites we called leaders. Funniest thing is that they are just changing set of looters till the whole system of looting collapse on their heads. Military system of government is the best. It’s best we know the reality now.

You are free to go and call Putin-to make rooms for you, then you will be shipped to Siberia jungle- no Communication,No Press Conferences, statement,no partnerships, then you will know that Democracy is still the best form of govt!
lies and propaganda from the highest order here. Same military Government where there’s daily times newspaper, punch, tribune , Tell, leadership operating at maximum capacity then not to talk of NTA, Ait operating during the military leadership then. Freedom of speech wasn’t gagged during military government in Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Western Democracy Not Working For Africa – Obasanjo by Politicstoday: 3:07pm On Nov 20, 2023
As far as I’m concerned, military government is the best. It’s in the military government then that there’s huge scholarships for the less privileged people not to talk of good economy during the military era. Check online and search how the economy was booming during the military era in Nigeria politics, compare it to democracy system of government in Nigeria. Tinubu and APC will never help Nigeria in terms of economic growth, security issues, agriculture, health and education. They are just there to destroy the Nigeria system more and increase the level of corruption in their time. What obj said is 100% truths. Truths is bitter. Corruption in the civil service and political stakeholders in the government was at minimal level in the military system of government compared to democratic system of government. The level of going abroad for greener pastures was at minimal level during military government compared to wicked democratic government we are witnessing for more than 2 decades now. It’s very unfortunate situation in Nigeria democratic system of government.

Libyans enjoys ghadaffi styles of government, Infact their economy was the best then until USA 🇺🇸 military overthrew Ghadaffi and his government then. Libyans make used of their oil resources to develop their country. Unlike in Nigeria under democratic government, it’s from suffering to poverty to inflation to importations to security crisis and so on. Military Government is still the best.

BREAKING: Protesters Storm Osun State High Court, Shut Gate.

November 20, 2023

Members of the Judiciary Staff Union in Osun State on Monday locked the entrance to the Osun State High Court in Osogbo in protest against the Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, and the management of the activities of the judiciary in the state.

According to Punch, the protesting workers led by Mr Gbenga Eludire, prevented movement into the premises.

Armed with placards with inscriptions such as ‘Judiciary staff deserves better,’ ‘We are tired of oppression and stagnation,’ and ‘Unlawful suspension of Judiciary staff without recourse to Judicial Service Commission is barbaric,’ among others, accused Ojo of refusal to pay wardrobe allowances of workers in the last three years.

The Chairman, Osun JUSUN, Oluwagbemiga Olakunle Eludire, while speaking with journalists on Monday at the premises of the Osun State High Court which houses the office of the Chief Judge, added that their agitations were quite separate from the actions of the state government

Eludire said their action was because, “We demanded from Justice Ojo why our wardrobe allowance from 2021 till date has not been released despite funding by the state government.

“We want to know why the government directive on promotion and advancement made available by the Osun government was not used for the purpose approved for.

“We want to know why notable JUSUN members were unlawfully suspended without proper investigation against public service rules.

“We will not back down until appropriate action is taken on the matter.”

Timkuk v PDP...

The Appeal Court declined jurisdiction and struck out the suit.

Justice Tani Yusuf Hassan (the woman who sacked Agah Avia presided with Ali Andenyangtso & Olasumbo Goodluck all in concurrence.

Excerpts of the Judgement;

Augustine Timkuk v. INEC, PDP, Nannim Joseph, Gwott Yakubu Chocho, Fidelis Adara, John Adah & Amos Timbau
I agree with the Objector that the complaint of the Claimant is about the events, decisions and actions of the 2nd defendant/objector in conducting election for 3-man Adhoc Delegates on the 30th April, 2022 and appointment of Electoral Committee on the 19th May, 2022 and not about the conduct of the Primary Election for nomination of candidate for the Langtang North-North Constituency. Therefore the Claimant having not filed the Originating Summons later than 14 days from the 19th of May, 2022, the Suit is Statute Barred.

The complaint contained in reliefs 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 in the Originating Summons and paragraphs 5, 6, and 24 of the Affidavit in support are against third parties who are not parties to the Originating Summons and that robes this Honourable Court the Jurisdiction to entertain this suit.

I agree with the submission of Counsel to the 2nd defendant that the Repeated Congress of the 2nd defendant (PDP) was held on the 25th day of September, 2021 and monitored by the 1st Defendant (INEC) as evidenced by Exhibit R6. This was the reason the Claimant went ahead to participate in the primaries for the Langtang North-North State Constituency on the 22nd May, 2022.

I do not agree that the 2nd defendant is in disobedience of Exhibit AT3, AT4 and AT5.

I disagree with Learned Counsel to the Claimant/Objector that Exhibit R5 which is the Suit filed before High Court of Justice Plateau State is not on all fours with the present Suit, hence not abuse of Court process.

From the content of the Originating Summons the parties and the subject matter are the same. It is my view that this Suit as presently constituted is an abuse of Court process.

In conclusion, I find merit in the Notice of Preliminary Objection and agree with the 2nd and 3rd defendants/objectors that this Honourable Court lacks the Jurisdiction to entertain and determine the Originating Summons.

The Originating Summons is incompetent and is accordingly dismissed.

We Didn’t Remove Chief Judge - Osun Govt
***
The government urged members of the public to note that while the House of Assembly recommended the appointment of a replacement to the Governor in its resolution, he, however, toed the line of law by writing the CJN on the entire development and submitting all materials for NJC as mandated national agency.
“We therefore wish to state categorically that Governor Adeleke has not appointed any judicial official as Acting Chief Judge, and nobody has been sworn in as Acting Chief Judge of Osun state.
“Governor Adeleke is a man of due process and rule of law with a deep level of respect for the bar and the bench, the NJC and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We assure the public that Mr Governor is fully aware of the limit of his powers as well as the responsibilities of the various agencies of government and will therefore not act in any way to violate the constitution and the rule of law,” it added.
