To make it known wella, at the just concluded National confereb, a southerner was told to keep shut nd labelled as thief and even recommended for an arrest by a Northerner when he rose up to speak about the broadened marginalisation of Local goverments ratio of the Kano state to Lagos state.

Politics / Re: Lagos And Ogun Control 55% Of Nigeria Economy- Jonathan by politifact: 7:59pm On Nov 29, 2014
rahazaqa:
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said Nigeria
would overcome her current challenges, just as he
regretted the emergence of Aminu Tambuwal as
Speaker of the House of Representatives at the
expense of Mulikat Akande-Adeola, the Peoples
Democratic Party preferred candidate for the position.
President Jonathan, who made the declaration in Ile-
Ife, while addressing a day summit, organised by the
Yoruba Concerned Leaders with the theme: “Nigeria
Development: Whither the Yoruba” extolled the virtues
of Yoruba people, describing their contributions to all
spheres of the nation’s life as “exemplary”.
He, however, hinged the inability of Akande-Adeola to
emerge Speaker to the decision by some people from
the region, who “thought otherwise”.
He said “one of the problems I face is the National
Assembly. Our party has arrangement for positions.
When a president and vice president emerge from
different regions, other offices – the Senate President,
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the
party chairman and Speaker of House of
Representatives must come from different geo-
political zones.
“The idea is that when we are to decide, people in
these positions meet with us to decide on crucial
things. In that case we want every geo-politically
zones to be represented in that inner caucus of our
party.
Last time, it was difficult for me because I insisted that
South West must get Speaker but some of us within
South West didn’t want that because of personal
ambition and I am still suffering for that till today.
“That is why I am telling our leaders here that this time
around we must work together and ensure that
whatever position that is zoned to South West, we
must get and no one should rob us of it”.
Speaking further at the event held at Oduduwa Hall in
Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile Ife, Jonathan
averred that his administration had been fair to the
people of South West and assured that the import of
the strategic position the region occupies, as touches
on the economy of the country, is not lost on his
administration.
Referring to the assertion by businessman and
politician, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, who in his remarks
earlier, relied on the World Bank poverty ratings of
regions in the country which listed South West as
having 16 per cent while North East has the highest
rate of 52 per cent, Jonathan maintained that South
West region would continue to enjoy robust economy
owing to the active economic activities around Lagos
and Ogun states which, according to him, has almost
55 per cent of the nation’s economic activities.
“When Jimoh was talking about World Bank statistics
of the poverty rate in regions in the country, he said
South West has least in the country. In fact, Lagos and
Ogun contributed almost 55 per cent of the economic
activities.
So, we know where the wealth is, the infrastructures
there must be provided,” Jonathan said.

Tinubu is one of those elements. There re others too.
How I wish Nigeria abolish the presidential system for Parlimentry system. The likes of Tinubu in SW, SS and SE will get hammered by the people with ease. It's sure.

A tour around alimosho and its environs shows that permanent voters cards collection is yet to commence while huge crowd wait hopelessly for INEC agents to show up,in many polling units visited, only names of eligible voters were pasted to enable people check if their names are on the voters register.it is not clear what caused the delay but information reaching me from the INEC office is that PVC's for alimosho local government is yet to arrive from abuja,I hope this not a deliberate attempt by the PDP led federal government to disenfranchise eligible voters in the council area which coincidentally has the largest voting strength in lagos state.

Politics / Re: Only I Can Save Lagos From Tinubu – Obanikoro by politifact: 9:02am On Nov 22, 2014
Firefire:
The immediate past Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, says he is the only person that can wrest power from the All progressives Congress in Lagos.

He added that he was the only one that could rescue the state from the influence of a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is believed to have been largely responsible for the success the APC had been experiencing at the polls since 1999.

Obanikoro said this while addressing party leaders and supporters at the state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party where he announced his intention to contest in the state’s governorship election.

“It is time to liberate Lagos from Bola Tinubu, the emperor of Bourdillon. It is time for Tinubu to go. This state has been ruled by one man for the past 16 years,” he said.

The former minister told members of the party that it was time for all of them to be united and understand that they were all fighting one enemy- the APC.

Obanikoro would have to defeat his biggest rival, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, at the primaries next month in order to clinch the ticket of the party.

He, therefore, told members of the party that only a person who had experience in governance could improve the fortunes of the state.

Obanikoro, who has served as a local government chairman, a senator, a High Commissioner and a minister, urged members of the party to vote at the primaries based on experience, not sentiments.

He said, “Experience can never be purchased. This state has been ruled by one man for the past 16 years and I can tell you that only those who have served in government can make meaningful change.

“Those who don’t have experience cannot make meaningful change, they will only go there to start learning governance and we don’t need an apprentice governor in Lagos. See the quantum debt sustained by the APC in this state. Only one person can win and fix Lagos and that is Obanikoro.”

The governorship aspirant dispelled rumours that he was a violent man.

He argued that he had never been found wanting ever since he joined active partisan politics.

While pointing at his two sons that attended the event, he said, “I have been married for 34 years. Is there anywhere in the world where a thug has been married for that long? Look at my children, do they look like products of a violent upbringing?”

Earlier, the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Capt. Tunji Shelle (retd.), promised that the primaries would be free and fair, adding that no aspirant would be imposed on the party.
The same man that used his ministerial post to disrupt lagos state govt housing projects wants to govern the state, you must be dreaming and its better u wake up before its too late.its not your fault but that of slowpoke GEJ that fielded fayose in ekiti, omisore in osun, akala in oyo and now obanikoro in lagos.

Instead of admitting Buhari's hatred for Ndi Igbo, or keep quiet, they resort to lies and fabrications.

Politics / Re: Bode George As Jimi Agbaje’s Godfather Is Bad For Lagos by politifact: 2:06pm On Nov 17, 2014
Max24:
Its better for us to vote for someone who has always shown interest in political office rather than an imposter that is being pushed to contest by a godfather who intends to use him for his own agenda.Ambode is just joining politics and so will have to depend not on his own political structure but on that of his godfather. That makes him susceptible to manipulation and control by the godfather. His ultimate loyalty will be to the godfather and not to the people. These godfathers deliberately go for technocrats that have no political structure. The same happened to Fashola. When he attempted to free himself they almost impeached him using the True Face of Lagos, or has people forgotten? Obviously, he ended up conceding to his godfathers demands at the expense of commoners. No wonder Fashola does not know his political future after being a Governor of Lagos for 8years. He was never in control politically. Note, the godfather that nominates the governor fills the legislature with his nominees also. So Ambode will be no match for the hawks that will surround him even if has good intentions. So its better to vote for someone who has always been in politics with his own structure no matter how small the structure is. That way he will be directly responsible and accountable to the people and not to any special benefactor. Am not for any party in particular but for a self-made politician. And there are many of them we can pick from--- Jimi Agbaje(he has always shown interest), Ganiyu Solomon, Leke Pitan, Obanikoro, Supo Shasore, etc.
point of correction, akin ambode is relying on the structure of the APC in lagos state.secondly,he is more experienced in administration after spending almost 30years in the public service, than mr jimi agbaje who has never been there.thirdly,if tinubu is a god father then what do u call bode thief and ogunlewe who brought jimi agbaje from the DPA few months ago to contest for the governorship ticket,is that not imposition.pls let us be factual in our analysis
