I have noticed this worrying trend about south west APC supporters being the ones majorly against the re-election of Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki
You would hardly see Apc supporters from other regions being this vocal, and fighting this hard against Obaseki's re-election, despite Edo state not being a south west state.

It makes one wonder what they stand to gain if Obaseki doesn't get re-elected.

Seems your problem is with Tinubu and the last time I checked Tinubu is just a single person.

They will be voted for at ward level where social distancing can be observed. At ward level, the number of people gathered can be controlled and they'd be far lesser compared to thousands that will gather for the indirect primary mode.

Indirect Primary- there will be ward congresses to select the delegate, this will be election by all party members at their wards to choose the delegates that will travel to benin. by doing this You and Obaseki didn't see any danger/risk of covid-19 spreading.
Then the elected delegates will travel to Benin in their thousands and converge in a place to vote.. remember that the delegates are not going to vote according to the wishes of those that sent them, because they will vote for the highest bidder.

Meanwhile a Direct primary is when all the party members converge at their wards and stand behind the poster of their choice candidates and results announced and everybody will go to their houses.

Now tell me why Obaseki want the people to go through all this stress just because of his own selfish gain.

In a direct primary, every registered party member gets to vote. Now do you understand the implication of that;thousands of people gathered at a place in the middle of a pandemic?
Do you even realize the number of lives that will be put at risk? Do you? Why don't they instead adopt the indirect mode whereby selected delegates will do the voting. Less number of people exposed, social distancing observed, the state and people remain safe. But No, you lots want direct primaries so you can hand over the state to Tinubu!

But Tinubu is morally and ethically fit to contest?
