The executive functions of the Nigerian vice president includes participation in all cabinet meetings and, by statute, membership in the National Security Council, the National Defence Council, Federal Executive Council, and the Chairman of National Economic Council.
So the Vice President "participates" in all cabinet meetings. grin
Can you show me how Osinbajo and Sambo participating in cabinet meetings has helped Nigeria?

Can you show me how the Vice president being a member of the security council has prevented Buhari from making Nigeria's security worse?

Can you show me how Osinbajo being a part of the Federal Executive Council has made Nigeria a better place.

Can you show me how any Vice President being "Chairman" of the National Economic Council has made Nigeria prosper?

Also,WHAT POWER DOES THE NATIONAL ECONOMIC COUNCIL HAVE?
WHAT POWER DO ANY OF THESE COUNCILS HAVE?!!!!
Abi! Their just there to advise!!!!

Why do Africans love giving all the power to ONE PERSON!

You Have 5 different Councils and all these Councils Can do is "talk talk talk".

I propose that we do away with useless positions like "councils" and make the Vice President actually have REAL POWER AND A REAL EXECUTIVE ROLE!

Ok.
And if the Security Council tells Buhari not to invade the South East,Does Buhari have to listen?

If the National Defense council tells Buhari not to give Boko Harem money,Does Buhari have to listen?

If the Federal Executive council tells Buhari not to Ban twitter, does Buhari Have to listen?

If The national Economic Council tells Buhari Not to devalue the Naira,Does Buhari have to listen?

Why are you opposed to giving the Vice President real power? angry

Which power are you talking about? Note that vice president can't do beyound what the consitution laid down
That is why we are giving the Vice President REAL POWER.
This country would be far better off if the Vice President had the power to balance out the President.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

This means that if in 2023 Nigeria elects Shekau as president,we will have a Vice President that will face all of Shekau's craziness... wink

So suppose we elect Shekau as President and Oby Ezekwili as Vice President.

Shekau would need Oby's permission[ to change Nigeria's language to Arabic cool

Or Shekau would need Oby's permisiion to appoint Boko Haram members as Head of Police in Southern States. lipsrsealed

What exactly is the role of Osinbajo?

Attending Funerals?Taking photos?

Lets ammend the constitution to give Osinbajo powers.

Executive Orders
The president shall issue executive orders,BUT the executive orders must be approved by the Vice President.
Eg. The banning of social media must have been approved by Osinbajo.

MEANING.
That all executive orders given by Buhari MUST be approved by Osinbajo!

This means that none of these bad orders that Buhari declares would be legitimate.

SO Buhari would not be able to ban twitter,WITHOUT Osinbajo's permission.
Buhari cannot send security operatives to South East or South West without Osinbajos permission.

What powers does the Vice President currently hold?
What difference does it make that Osinbajo said this?

Guys lets further discuss what our new constitution should look like.
State some things you think is needed for a better Nation.
Also lets send these recommendations to some house of rep members.

Appointments
All the presidents appointments should be approved by the legislator.
No President should be able to choose who he wants to be COAS, or IGP or Attorney General without getting approval from the NASS AND the Vice President.

Dismissals
The reps should be able to dismiss any Government employee in any department.
Whether they be the IGP or a security guard,The Attorney general Or a Court Clerk.

Suspension of The President
The NASS with a simple majority should be able to suspend the president from his duty.
During the suspension, the next in command(VP) will be in charge.

We should go back to regional government just like before.
This model doesnt only apply to Presidents.

We should also get rid of Governors and replace them with Board of Directors.

Ummm.

APC won't provide all seven board members.
No party will provide all board members.

Each party will only submit one candidate.

So there will be no need to spend billions of Naira to secure a seat on a council.

Also the pay won't be a juicy as the president. wink

what we need is true federalism and equal representation at the highest decision making arms of government
This is why I said we have to get rid of Presidents.

With Presidents,the population think its their duty to vote for their kinsmen(Buhari/Tinubu/Peter Obi);

Presidents are no good for diverse nations such as in Africa.

With a council:
You can have 7 ,9,11 people.

So with 7,8,9,10 or 11 people on a council EVERYONE gets representation. cool

Politics2023-lets Replace The Presidency With A Council by PortHardcore(op): 7:18pm On Mar 14, 2021
The answer to Nigeria's problem is so simple.

Nigerias/Africa's problem is that they have presidents.

We need to stop this foolishness of taking turns sharing presidency every 8 years between the two regions.

Why don't we have a Council/Board Of Directors instead of a president?

With a council of 7 members we could have both Northerners and Southerners serve on an executive council.
We can have Christians and Muslims.

We can have Igbos/Hausas/Yorubas/Fulanis/Ijaws share power.

I made a topic saying ppl should stop agitating for Biafra and Oduduwa because when they do , they just look at them like theyre extremists or tribal bigots.

I also think 9JA should go like South Sudan.

Its easier to get a South Nigeria instead of an ethnic enclave.

New terrorists are popping up everyday , so they have justification to spend more money on a crisis that they engineer.

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has opened up on the acquisition of $1.5 million mansions by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai.
The bureau said its records showed that the assets of Buratai in Dubai were declared in his wife’s name
The CCB made the clarification in a July 11 letter by Mrs. Ijeanuli Arinze Ofor, to Ugochukwu Osuagwu of St. Francis Xavier Solicitors and Advocates in Abuja.

Osuagwu had requested information on Buratai “pursuant to Section 1 and 4 of the Freedom of Information Act 2011.

The CCB said: “We refer to your mail dated Jun 29, 2016. We wish to state here that Gen. Tukar Yusuf Buratai, after his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff, declared his assets as required by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“He was served the Form CCB-I on July 21, 2015, and returned same on August 21, 2015.

“We also wish to confirm that his property at Dubai was declared in the wife’s name. Please, accept the warmest regards of the chairman.”

In a June 29, 2016, letter of the chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Osuagwu sought clarification on whether or not Buratai declared the controversial mansions.

The letter said: “We request that the CCB, pursuant to the FOI Act 2011, avail us the following concerning the declarations of Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai.

“On July 13, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Gen. Buratai as Chief of Army Staff. The newspapers are awash that Gen. Buratai and his two wives in 2013 paid 1,498,534.00 AED (N120 million/ $419,000) for a Dubai property, Project TFG Marina Hotel, Unit 2711.

“Sale documents indicated that the property was handed over to the Buratais on January 13, 2013, prior to his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff.

“For the purpose of clarity sir, we request you as follows: (1) Confirm if Gen.Tukur Yusuf Buratai declared his asset with you upon his appointment on July 13, 2015, as Chief of Army Staff; (2) Whether the above property he bought with his wife was also declared with the CCB.

“Kindly avail us a reply within the time allowed under the Freedom of Information Act 2011 as much as you can sir.”

The Executive Chairman of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL), Mr. Debo Adeniran, said assets declarations to the CCB, by public officials, should be made public for the purpose of transparency and public scrutiny.

Adeniran, who made his position known in a statement in Lagos, said public officers should not hide their assets.

He, however, asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe Gen. Buratai.

Personally, I think hes just an enabler,I dont think hes making money from it or coordinating it.
Buhari is a tribal bigot, who doesnt care about anybody, even those in the North.

A lot of the Northerners are also complicit in it,they have a mentality that a s long as a Northern Muslim is president, then all the insecurity in the north doesnt matter.
PoliticsMilitary Is Behind Insecurity by PortHardcore(op): 6:53pm On Dec 30, 2020
I don know who needs to be told this, but The military is the one behind insecurity in Nigeria.

This is how it works-
The Generals loot the money they get for fighting BokoHaram and Iswap.

They also give intelligence to BokoHaram on any expensive shipments that are travelling up north;

Like a weapons convoy or Hard currency.

They also send poorly trained southern soldiers to fight Insurgents , they sometimes leak info to the insurgents to let them know where and when the poorly trained soldiers are.

They also split money with kidnappers.
Like How do you kidnap 600 school children in broad daylight?

Ask yourself how come the army doesnt use all their advanced equipment on terrorists?Like Drones and jets, etc?

I just made this post because I see a lot of ppl asking why the military is going after the Eastern Security Network and not BH/ISWAP/Bandits.
