Exactly, it all depends on the kind of school. I am a teacher too and I know what I am talking about. Follow your heart bro. I was in that situation when I started teaching too. I was earning 27k monthly. I decided against taking such offer and today I earn 6 figure salary as a teacher. And as for connection, you can get it anywhere, even as a school teacher, depending on the school like I said earlier. A former colleague got a job in an oil company through a parent. Follow your heart.

Would have said you should opt in for the company job but then I thought of how this companies sweet mouth you into the job but at the long run you are used up as another factory tool..

You should weigh the cost of living in ota and that of Abuja..

500 for every day transport would leave you with less than 25k at the end of the month.. so to me the company job is better considering free accomodation..

People think teaching job doesn't connect you with people but it's a wrong notion.. it all depends on the kind of school..

Don't relocate to Ota. Leaving a 40k job for a 25k job is unacceptable. How can a management job be 25k? You guys should put some respect to the word "Manager"
Do you know Ota and environs well, Can you drive, do you have a flair for marketing? these are salient questions you must answer.
That your aunty is a bad person, how does she want you to cope with 25k monthly, that company belongs to your aunt and she wants to use you as her first slave.

Avoid her avoid her job.
They should just remove the word "Manager" from the job. It is simply a Marketing or Sales role.

My dear brother, except we want deceive ourselves, teaching in Nigeria has no future, and it will never add value to you as a person in the long run. So why not drop that lousy teaching job and start a new career in the factory your aunt recommended. Because this is an opportunity to relocate and learn practical skills that can add value to your life. And who knows, it might just be a gateway to your greatness in life.

Peace
Teaching has a future it all depends on how you build yourself and improve yourself... Factory work for 25k

How much is ur accomodation in Abj?
Or is it free accomodation?
Do u have other bills to cater for? (Electricity, water, security etc)
What type of pupils do u teach? Are their parents influential, how about ur boss, does he/she want ur progress, does she allow u to go for interviews and screening when the need arise?
Do u realize any other money from ur teaching job like extra lesson and so on..
Do u av a small business in Abj u are doing

In Ota, will u be paying any utility bills aside the free accomodation?
It's the accommodation in the same place as the factory? Or u will be paying some petty amount for transport?...
Will the company be feeding u too..
How much do you trust ur Aunt? Has her words ever always count?
What's the demand like for the food the company is selling?

Put all these into consideration and use ur discretion..
Thanks

Teaching in private school is a waste of time and energy, I don't see any future in it. I have worked in one of the top private schools in Abuja and my experience wasn't nice. The school owner see teachers as slaves and people to be taken advantage of. I wouldn't advice anyone to take a private school teaching job and if you really want to be a teacher, get a government school.

Op, drop the private school teaching job as there is no future in it. The worst is that, you can't even save from your salary to start your own school later.

Which private organisation job in nigeria do they
not see their workers as slaves

If you are mistreated, where in nigeria do you seek redress

Nigeria private coy will always remind you that there are many job seekers outside

You have said it all. For those who haven't taught before, pray your condition doesn't get so bad that you'd have to teach. Teaching is not easy.
I presently teach in a private school. The job is not a easy job at all. I am also planning to leave the school by the end of this term to go see how I can do other things with my life. When one is too comfortable in teaching in a private school, that person is already in a deep soup without knowing. It is better if is a government school.

Oga, lecturers are not teachers ; they only lecture, hence the word lecturer. And they are only found in tertiary institutions. A teacher on the other hand, impacts knowledge through an organized methodology of understanding called teaching or instructions , hence the word "teacher ". And they are mainly found in primary and secondary schools.

Good morning nairalanders. Please i need urgent advice on this.
I am currently teaching in a private school (primary section) in Abuja. I started the job last week. The pay is "40k". I usually spend like #500 on transportation everyday. The problem is, my Aunty that is outside the country chatted me up yesterday asking me if i could work in Ota. That the company is a food company and they need an assistant manager. She said the pay is 25k with accommodation, but they will review the salary after three months IF i should perform well. In addition, it is a marketing job. I will be giving a car to distribute goods to some places. According to them, i will be there first staff. I told my aunt that the money is too small but she said that is what they can start with.

Should i continue with my teaching job or go for this new one? Please i need your advice urgently. Thanks.
Bros, i teach too in addition to my been self employed. When i don't have contracts at hand i teach.
Please take the teaching Job. With the teaching you have time for yourself highest 3pm you are home. Saturday and Sunday is free for you and any public holiday. U can even add ur personal business to the teaching... Going for that 25k job is suffer head. Again, i say continue to teach. U know how many big man pikin u go teach for abuja??

I taught in a private school for six consecutive years, but I have nothing to show for it. I have never seen someone who made something out of his life as a private school teacher. I went to a govt hospital last year and lo and behold, my former student was the medical doctor. I came back home feeling like a loser. I quickly drafted a resignation letter and resigned the next day.

I still haven't gotten a good job, but I am working part-time and I am learning a trade, and I also have ample time to think about my life and the direction I want it to go. My life has never been this good.

You spend roughly 20,000 naira out of 40,000 naira on transportation. I will advice you go for the job at Ota if they do review your salary on the long run.
Marketing job comes with incentives that can be much if you work hard and make more sales. You can earn up to 100k if possible.
Guess what? I just found out that, when you save daily on iNest you can get up to N100,000 for free without any hassle, Simply use a non-fcmb card and you stand a chance to be a winner, I just thought to share with you, my friends.! #ATokenOfLove #iNest
