It's actually so touchy when our neighbor called us to that Rooney our dog has refused to eat since yesterday because myself and hubby travel for a wedding, it's amazing and funny that Rooney who can eat a house has been starving and has even been sleeping at the gate waiting for us.

Dogs can be very loyal..man best friend.. by tomorrow it will eat maybe they haven't brought his favourite food..Nice name Rooney...

Back to the topic, ekuke don't have any problem, maybe he's fasting...once he's done, he'll sort himself out. Don't worry.

Is he currently with the neighbour or familiar with your neighbour? Or do they just go check on him? I'm guessing It is separation anxiety. He's probably used to having someone around and not been left alone before.

They should keep him company, he'll come around.

Did you tell your dog verbally that you are going for a wedding and will be back? I guess not, maybe because some people think dogs don't hear when we talk, but dogs actually understand everything being said to them and around them.
Your dog thinks you people have abandoned it.

I will suggest that you call your neighbour, ask then to put the phone on speaker where your dog is. Then speak to your dog over the phone.

I would have advised you to starve the dog but it is not the dog's fault.

You can only starve the dog to reach him a lesson only if the dog's misbehaviour is due to its fault.

Anyway, don't give it food for few days, after that try serving it, meanwhile make sure it's under cage or chain.

That was the method I used for a spoilt Caucasian dog that we got from a friend as gift.

When you serve it, it will eat the fish or meat and leave the food, it poo anywhere, even inside its own plate.

The dog thought it was still in its former owner's house were it has workers employed to take care of it and other dogs in the compound.
After starving the dogs for days, it sense came back and it started behaving normal.

dogs are also humanlike so they feel bad when left alone
