Yes this happened to me....someone approached me and asked me for tools...funny enough it happened when I was at the nysc orientation camp in March 2021.....the thing is once you are good looking they think you re into fraud

I have to sit them down and school them there are teachers doing very well and show them some evidence that all my money is from teaching.

How did you handle it?

Yeah, I could remember back then when I was teaching, my students do wondered about my dressing and lifestyle. I could heard them gossiping with a low voice about my phone and clothes whenever I'm teaching. one of them (ss1) summoned courage to ask me one day, he started with, Uncle your phone is iPhone 11 ryt? I just smiled, me that is using Tecno. From there he said which work were you doing before, I looked at him straight and told him not everybody depends on their salary and I'm not into internet or any form of fraud.
Another day the proprietor's daughter and her friends (ss3) asked me again about my formal place of work, I replied them saying this is my first place of work that I just finished service, they were like how come do you dress like this.

Yeah, some are yet to come to terms that a young man can stay home all day and make a living well enough to cater for the needs of himself and his family. Some nerds just get an office which they don't need, for the sake of people who can't mind their business, accusing anyone earning a living through the internet as a Yahoo boy.

I can relate. Sometimes we wish we never started somethings. But the earlier you reign in your addictions, the better. Or just quit it cold turkey. It's possible.

As for the freelancing stuff, do you have a skill?,It is the first thing. Learn one & stick to it, 3months is enough. Then signup on social media sites, upwork, fiverr etc, Showcase your work.
I won't lie & say it is easy. Persistence is the key.

That's why I had to quit teaching since I was a part-time freelancer then. I was making more money than the principal. Non of the teachers knew what freelancing is and neither do the kids. All of them just conclude that a yahoo boy and I had to leave. It was becoming something else sef. I love teaching tho

I am a part time teacher I teach in 5 schools
Run home lessons and have some international students I take classes.

Learn.
The lowest earner among my part time teachers club earns not less than a 100K let alone someone that introduced the system.
Learn to ask questions.
Don't compare our money to that of principal we even earn more than some small school owners if you sum our 4 months salary compare to their termly profit.
We work hard for our money don't call us a thief because we are a bite successful where many are unsuccessful.
Ask questions and learn.
