Hi guys,

Is there a page for indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

Also, is life in the UK test required for indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I am asking because I will soon be applying for this. Thanks

This. Is the page. Go, get your own ILR, then come back and teach us.

Hi all, need your suggestions/advice

also, because of the huge cost of applying for 3 children with hubby's flr m, we have decided to apply for just his. the children are still in nigeria.
is it possible for them to apply with him when applying for ILR instead? and what application will that be please? ilr or settle as a dependant.

because to us, application for them when he applies for Ilr will save us paying 2x for application (2.5yrs then ilr) and the huge health surchage fee.

advice please.
thanks

Standing ovation for you. I like people with financial understanding. As far as the kids are safe in Nigeria, leave them there for now and bring them later. It doesnt matter when they want to apply. If the dad has ILR, and there’s a birth certificate showing that he is their dad, they can join anytime when you’re financially able to.

By His Grace, you both may even have the money to bring them even before the ILR. He is lucky to have a wife like you that understands priorities.

hi i finally have feedback from Council regarding my earlier post.

The Council asked i get my landlord to add my name as a tenant in the tenancy agreement before they can add me to the council tax bill (my name is added as a permitted occupant). The landlord has refused because he said i wasn't referenced. My wife & sister were referenced because they rented the apartment before i came.

The Council cant do much and are ok as long as the council taxes have always been paid.

So the best option for me now is to move to my apartment with wifey as planned where we have bills in just our names. I plan for this summer post lockdown.

This way, we can use 1. Council tax bill when we first move in and maybe 2. one from March 2022 when they send their yearly bill. Or are there councils that do monthly bills? I hope to have 2 bills from council tax for spousal visa renewal.

My BRP expires June 2022 and so i have to renew May 2022.

profemebee:
mehnn you just made my heart a bit calmer with your explanation.

Yes, council knew that initially there were 2 adults and a baby, and now 3 adults and a baby as we have sent an email already tonight.

We will follow up with a phone call tomorrow and hopefully someone picks up. I will provide feedback once i get from the council.

I thought council tax will increase with every adult added.

Also, regarding bank letters, i can just download and print out bank letters from my mobile banking apps.

thanks...

hi hi

Please did anyone who has gone thru FLR M extension use 2 different addresses (that means you moved apartments or houses) for the application?

How does that affect the 6 joint address mail correspondence / 12 separated address mail correspondence?

Can you use Water Bill from address A with joint names and Water Bill from address B with same joint names for 2 different years?

Do you work with the NHS? If yes, they seem to treat priority workers faster. Congratulations, now you can rest.

So, looks like the Life in UK test can be taken at any point, doesn't expire right?

I will like to get it over with now before things get busy once the lockdown is lifted. So can I??

Apologies for my wahala but the problem is that one doesn't get to see the checklist until submission of application.

Please did you screenshot or save it somehow? so we know when there are new requirements ahead of time.

Thanks.

@Bourne007: you know how crazy and paranoid this process can make someone feel especially because things change and it is expensive to apply so you need to take all precautions not to talk of how disruptive it can be if denied or rejected.

@Profemebee: if I recall you should get a sneak preview of the required documents before the final submission. Please note that documents requested are subjective depending on the individual's personal and financial situation but to assist see below how I uploaded my documents on the Ukvcas website per category. I have used the exact heading on the Ukvcas website to help everyone.

thanks for the document and the way it is arranged...

i noticed you used your own income for the financial requirement... i intend to do the same..

I was out for 57 days (work) after my initial entry to the uk, and will follow your method of writing a cover letter explaning...

I went bk to naija to wrap up work and resign properly.. i hope i can tell Home Office that and they will understand oo..

i also love how one doesn't send physical copies of documents anymore.. however, did you really scan all the pages of ur passport? even if its empty page?

I was out for 57 days (work) after my initial entry to the uk, and will follow your method of writing a cover letter explaning... In my opinion, for Flr(m) the focus is on 2 - 2.5 years before your application. Most likely have 33 months (2.5 years + extra 3 months) on your BRP, which gives you 3 months to do all the shenanigans before settling in the UK. so you should still have the required 2.5 years initial + 2.5 years extension to give you the total of 5 years required for settlement
I went bk to naija to wrap up work and resign properly.. i hope i can tell Home Office that and they will understand oo..I am sure most of us did...lol
i also love how one doesn't send physical copies of documents anymore.. however, did you really scan all the pages of ur passport? even if its empty page? Yep, scan it all..it will cost you nothing

I didn’t scan my passport and I didn’t write a cover letter- not saying that you shouldn’t; just saying that I didn’t.

Also, They will ask you the times you’ve been abroad, which you’ll type into the application form, then if they need to investigate it, they will ask the relevant government department.

Like I said in my comment, it is a very subjective process depending on each person's personal situation. What I shared is based solely on my own personal situation and should only be taken as a guide just like I took notes from every other person's situation here and then adapted to suit mine.

Keep up the good work.
