Akobo is your best option in Ibadan. I can guarantee at least 14 -16(even more sef) hours light daily (if there's nothing wrong with the transformer sha). House rent can be a bit expensive in the "estates" sha

A second option, is obaniyi area around Ijaye, Lagos (at least 18 hours guaranteed) House rent is moderate except you want to stay inside runsewe estate ..

A third option is Keffi in Nasarawa state, stay in the GRA... Na light go kee you last last grin

Which areas in Akobo if I may ask? Someone was recommending Kolapo Ishola and Carlton Gate Estates. I don't know Akobo too well but I know of few friends too that complain about light. So, I guess it's cluster by cluster thingy.

If you have the means go for kolapo Ishola/ Carlton gate. Just pay a visit to either of the two and see which you prefer.

I stay at akala estate and light is very constant here, at least 16hours daily. There's steady power almost everywhere in akobo, it all depends on your taste ( some areas are more community like and there are many gated estates too).

Ok some area in Ibadan but jus that rent is Abit expensive
Fodacis off Adeoyo road 27hrs light
Akala express/Elebu 18hrs light
Joyce B Road/Liberty Rd 20hrs light
Ring Road /Challenges,Back of Glo office/Elewure 23hrs light
GRA-Alalubose /Back of Aleshiloye market 24hrs light
Popojemoya/Idi-Arere/Oje-oba (very rugged area to the core)also a slum 20 hrs light
Eyin Grammer/ Odo-Oba / Adeyemo layout 18 hrs light ( mild rugged area ) with some slum.
Ibadan too large, mind you this is just a little refraction of Ibadan.

Make I rest for now.

I understand that there is something wrong with a particular transmission line, so most places have been in total darkness for days. It's crazy though. If you check IBDEC social media, na apologies plus excuses and complaints from customer full there. Where I reside in Lag, we get 18-22 hours on average daily.

You are right, but on a normal circumstances without IBDEC wahala those places are the place to be.

It seems this is intentional. It's still the same cock and bull story of carrying out maintenance on their feeds.

Come to Osogbo, powerline area, I stay there, in fact, just relocated in January from Abuja, at powerline, we have electricity, 24 hours per day, guaranteed. If they take light, it's either there is fault with the transformer, which rarely happens, power grid failure, or rain. The house where I stay is a one bedroom apartment (room & parlour) self contained, it's 120k. Good road network, water, security. There are other areas where you can get cheaper houses, but their light is not as good as powerline, like 20 hours light per day.

Hello, does what you say here still stands. Is oshogbo a good place to relocate to?

Is it still thesame sir ?

Hi Kelvin, is the electricity still constant in Christland? And what's the current average price of self con apartments in the area?

Electricity is still very much constant in Christland and its environs. As of now, a self con will be around 75k to 80k. The 3 bedroom flat I lived in before I moved to my own house last year was 175k.

One more question: can I get by without any knowledge of Yoruba language? I know nothing in Yoruba lol

Is there a feeder station in the town? I mean like a mini nepa sub station.

Are there modern houses with boreholes or its public water works

Thousands of people from other regions live in Ondo state and they get by just fine without any knowledge of Yoruba. There's a university of education in the town and people come from as far as North to school there. As long as you you can speak English or pidgin. You'll be fine. As for your other questions in the second quote. Most houses have boreholes provided by the land lords. Christland is not an estate. It's an area (connected streets). Getting a good house depends on what time of the year you search and how connected you are to the people cos a lot of modern homes have available houses but they won't put any notice outside.
If you're serious, I can help you make some calls but that's if you're serious.

Ondo Town is not a village. It qualifies for a city in its own capacity. Yes there are power sub stations, there are boreholes and there are good roads. It's a completely developed town. A little less developed that Akure which is Ondo state capital but it's right there. And most importantly, the entire Ondo state is very peaceful. Almost too peaceful until recently. Nothing ever happens here which can make it very boring and make people outside the state forget that it actually exist. Lol

Hi Kelvin, thanks for the reply.

Good to know that language is not a big factor. Yes I'm serious and looking to move down this weekend. Please help me make some calls and let me know if there's anything available at the moment and the cost as well. I have a slim budget of 90k max.
I'll be waiting to hear from you. Thanks.
