Borrowed one guy money to pay back problem. I just looked for old plastic dolls, palm wine small calabash, native chalks, some leaves, red pieces, mirror, and my neice red water color... I took them to a stream behind my house, i printed his pictures and family pic from fb... Put them there, started doing yeye incantation and some strong benin words. I sent him the video... It didn't take him 10 minutes to send me my money after seriously begging me to even collect it. The mother that was always covering for him was the first to call to beg
i love this approach.

It always ends in beef. Reason I no longer lend people money I cannot forfeit. They come humble when a borrowing, but become ferocious when you're asking for payback

First was a girl, my neighbour when I was in school. The caretaker locked her room and she and her roommate didn't have anywhere to go. She begged me for 10k and I took compassion and lent her the money. Three months later I didn't see shishi, had to seize her phone before she could pay 5k and that was it.

Second was my guy who his landlord was about throwing out so I lent him 20k to add to the one he had and settle the landlord. Till today I no see shishi but I don leave am for am. These days he wonders why I don't give him money.

Third was a guy I know who begged me to lend him 10k out of the only 20k I had that time. I sent him the money but it took lots of calls, lots of threats before he could pay 7k.

These days, I don't lend shishi. I can only dash out 5k if you beg too much. 9ja people can't be trusted with money.

I have over 3 million in bad debts to people who come to you meek with their heads bowed but time to pay back and they run rings around you and hurl insults.

My philosophy is that they aren’t repaying your good deed with evil rather all they have done is sow a bad seed.

Lent a cab guy money for base oil business; next thing he says he brother said he shouldn’t borrow money for that. Ngwa, return the money na... insults. Calling me a rat with no education. Telling me how successful he is as a cab driver and how useless I was as a consultant. 4 years later, I set up a sting using a girl to call him to pick her up from my work premises. He was sitting in the cab when I came with two of my drivers and seized his car from him. He ran like a bitch to the police and came with a Hilux filled with 4 of them. I plainly told them this was a civil matter and they had no business in it. Long story short, we went to the police station, he signed a payment agreement, paid once and ran away again with his car. I forgot about him

I don’t know is it a human trait or a thing with Nigerians but 6 out of 10 will disappoint you!

Update: wahala for who borrow dead body money. A guy I have know for years had been troubling me for a car for taxi. Gave him 300k on Tuesday last week. He promised to pay back 75k every month starting from next month. His daughter just texted me that he has died yesterday. Let’s now make that over 3.3 million

I have lost countless times I lend people money and they refused paying. Even the ones with capacity to pay will still be dragging it, saying, "bros you are ok naa, make you chill for this small money". If you tell family members that you won't give because you have some projects going on, that even make it worse.

For their mind, your project is more important than lending a helping hand. That you are doing projects even shows that money is coming in. So I don't use that strategy again. The current pandemic is what is helping me ward them off. Tell them that you have been at home since last year and doing nothing. That has been my strategy and truly, I have been at home working. It is good when people don't know the type of job you do. Let them be guessing.

Debt destroys families and friendship. I now avoid it.

Your story is similar to mine. 50K too. Last year in the middle of corona.

Cos he has always borrowed and returned it, I didn't suspect anything...

I had just 100k left in my account split it into two. I had no hope of where the next money would come from. He promised end of the month or first week of April.

Since then till now, I have not gotten my money.

On top of that, he blocked me and insulted my parents, said he will exhumed them from grave and deal with them.

In his mind, I can't do anything cos he thinks I am bluffing. Until when I will smoke him out from his hiding, he will meet me face to face and I will to whatever comes to mind that day.

I told him, I don't do phone or internet threat like he does. I requested for his new address if he knows he is a man but he has not given it.

He is holding on to an image of my gentility.. I go shock am.

Whatever legal/necessary means you do to get back your money. Please do so. In the end, do not physically hurt anyone abeggg.

Your debtor is just a learner. Some chronic debtors, if you like embarrassed him in the market Square, Church, in his working place, he will not shake. He will be expecting you to involve the security agencies so that he will be paying you the money in piecemeal, then he will take 10 years to complete the payments.

Lending people money is a risky venture. I'm still trying to trying collect money lent to a pastor friend of mine who happens to be an ex colleague at work. I lent him 200k since 2019, but has only been able to pay back 90k late last year and early this year in two instalments of 50k and 40k. It has affected our relationship negatively as I'm so pissed with him cos l have been denied the use of the money for the intended purpose. I have concluded never to lend to anyone except with collateral or jusy dash the money as chicken change. People have no integrity again in this world of today. Be careful who you lend to as it is doubtful of getting it back.

True talk.
There's this girl I liked and based on the fact that i felt some sort of chemistry with her and I thought she was into me, I asked her out and she told me that she wasn't ready for a relationship (I just thought she was playing hard to get) , but sometimes later she called me and told me to loan her some money , I got cautious and told her I'd loan her half of it (although I saw it more like a gift under the pretense that it was a loan), I used that opportunity to tell her about my feelings for her once more but she kept on insisting that she wasn't interested in a relationship, that made me change my mind about gifting her the money (since I never told her it was a gift but still a loan).... I called her severally to pay me back but she has been posting me.

Naija girls matter tire me, you don't want to date a guy but you feel entitled to his money....
Now I truly understand why Mosdii always says "Naija girls are useless, all of them..."
I had similar experience though, my own case, I refused to loan the girl the money.
I toasted her but she told me that she want no sex relationship until marriage. After about two months she called me to loan her 200k to stock her shop for Christmas business, that she will pay back immediately after the season. I declined, I promised to gift her 20k she refused.
I almost loan her the 200k before I regain my senses. I was like, what if she refuses to pay back, can I take action against her?

He promised to pay back next week. He never did. Ran into him 2 weeks later, reminded him of his debt and in an insolent manner he replied that I was way too big and matured to be asking back for such 'little change'. Initially, I thought that he was joking but he really wasn't.

Maybe it was the way that he said it..... but I felt violated and angry. I am quiet by nature but when pushed, I honestly do not recognise myself (something I must admit that I am still working on). Anyways, in this index case, I allowed my innate nature to erupt unchecked.

I uploaded his name on the workgroup's WhatsApp, formed another group of all aggrieved parties that he was equally indebted to, some as large as half a million naira. Met his boss, and reported him to the office security.

A few days later,he returned back my money exasperated. Calmly, I counted it....my 'little change' of N3000 was finally with me.

Most are saying they give what they can forfeit,i do not give unless i am 1000 percent sure the person would return my money, most people are untrustworthy, but i have two friends that always pay back anytime they ask for money,i can comfortably lend them money and nobody else,i can also do this for my siblings and even forget about the money.

Chai! This thread just reminded me of all the shit I’ve been through trying to assist people.

First, my homeboy from way back borrowed 30k from me to buy second-hand items from Togo, promised to pay back in a week. Fast forward to 7 months, I no see my money, and when I asked he told me to go and collect it from a certain acquaintance I met through him once. Apparently, he had collected the money and gave to his friend for a business deal. It was when I confronted him in his house and we got physical that his mom got involved, and facilitated the payment.
I got dumb again and actually raised half a million loan for another guy without a collateral. Needless to say that it ended in premium tears.

I can honestly say its not worth it lending people money. Just give what you can afford to gift.

Come and ask me ooo. I have more than a thousand experience. I run a cooperative and online instalment sales. I must confess even some so called big men are liars or possibly they are having brain problem. Fake salary account, bounced cheque, Unecesarily complaints on job done even after guarantee period. Really, giving credit in Nigeria is like eating on same table with lions.

So I borrowed this girl 10k since January, she never pay me back and she dey para for me on top my money... the only mistake I made was that I didn’t asked for when she will be returning it, she just said I will return it soon.... her soon never reach ooo sad sad sad

And she was in need of the money then
But now I learnt my lesson,,, if you wanna have enemy borrow a Nigerian money cry cry cry cry cry
women are bad debtors. I had my own dose recently. 2 separate ladies. In fact I had dashed one of them money some days prior to the borrowing. One week after payment date, I asked her for it. She payed, but she has been acting up since then.

The other was same problem. When I asked, she just acted surprised that I was asking for the money.

Dem mofos were expecting me to let off their debts just coz they are females. If its something else now they will be claiming equality..

Besides, even if I am dangote, once you take a loan you have to be responsible for it. I believe so much in keeping to promises. If you have a challenge and can't meet up with the due date, inform the lender and fix another due date. I may then decide to let it slide if the spirit leads. Trying to evade debt is plain evil.
