Guy you are wrong - If yoruba join Itsekiri fight-, as you claim that war won’t last 3 weeks

Why?

Because the yorubas under Abacha had the political power to end that crisis instanta using the military!

Diya Oladipo Donald was Military Vice President then- do you know what that means?

Abachas bossom friend and confidant Aziz Arisekola Alao is a yoruba man - That is one man apart from Major Hamza Al Mustapha that Abacha loved and respected, and Abacha will do anything for him - so get your facts right!

You don't know anything...

The last Ijaw vs Itsekiri didn't take place during Abacha's regime. So, how could a dead Abacha intervened in the said conflict?

A lot of the boys who fought for the Itsekiris were recruited from riverine parts of Ondo State.

Master's degree in what?

Definitely not 'History'...

There is 'History of Nigeria' just as we have 'American History' and 'Chinese History'...

Prof Obaro Ikime couldn't have written his "Groundwork to Nigerian History", if there was nothing to write about.

You're just exposing your ignorance on this thread.

Several Itsekiri towns were founded by Yoruba riverine people...Ugborodo/Escaravos is one example.

I repeat that Yoruba, Edo, Igala, and Itsekiri are brothers.

1) Actually as I already stated, the only people whom are actually yorubu are the people of oyo Kingdom.
2) your stories are not backed by proof.
3) Itsikeri is of Benin origin

No. You are now comparing apples to oranges. There are no descendants of Portuguese in Lagos. But returnees with portuguese names form the ruling house. In the case of Benin, the Binis distinct from pure Edo are Yorubas are the royal family as ordained by Oranmiyan, and no one ever contested the ruling house with them.

In the case of Itshekiris, it is even more ridiculous since they are pure Yoruba with some mixed with Binis, mind you not Edos, blood

Are you sure benin and ife even had historical connections in the past....

Are you ready to prove it historically or you're just repeating unverified statements you stumbled online.......

Lol. Igbo smoker, you must be out of your mind lol. Ask Itsekiri people where is their ancestral staff of office. The war ended after the incident that occurred at Ode Itsekiri (the only undisputed itsekiri land and their ancestral home). Funny how you're saying genocide when it was Itsekiri that attacked first and started killing Ijaws. Stop talking thrash you have no clue of what you're saying. The same Itsekiri led by one of their prominent Chief that attacked Chief Clark's compound and burnt it with hopes of killing him are the ones claiming genocide. On a good day, this Olu of Warri title will be visited God willing. I blame Okumagba for giving out lands to the Itsekiri people and more so the Ijaws whom are the traditional owners of all lands in Warri GRA for being so ignorant. Where una staff of office? On a personal level Tsola is a nice person, gradually the bad eggs in the Itsekiri nation are beginning to loose their stronghold in the Itsekiri nation and these unnecessary provocations of other tribes who lived in Warri town (not Ode Itsekiri) before Itsekiri (coming to Warri town just recently) will end

Watch my choice of words, I wrote Bini and not Edo. Edo and Yoruba are distinct people and civilisations. One from Odùduwà the other from Igodomigodo.

Binis are the remnant of those that followed Oranmiyan to Edo land plus the descendants of Eweka, the first Ọba of Benin. Since Eweka mother is Edo, most Binis are there4 with Yoruba and Edo bloods. Binis are Yorubas while Edos are not.

Incidentally only the descendants of Eweka can become the Ọba of Benin not any pure Edo.

Say what you know stop circulating that oromiyan myth that holds no historical stands

But a false history coined after Nigeria amalgamation to unite bini and Yorubas into one ancestry for political benefit....

I think the Yoruba word being used to describe a group of tribes like Ijebu, Egba, Egbado,Owu,Ife,Ijesha,Ilaje,Ekiti,Owo,Akoko,Awori , e.t.c. is where I think the confusion first lies...The itsekiris as a tribe is no different from other tribes associating with the general word 'Yoruba' to describe people with similar culture.

Let me even say that for argument sake you are right (which you are not, because that 3% is Benin royalty who are ultimately Yorubas who spoke Yoruboid dialects and hence how they easily blended with the Itsekiris).. The ruling family you are claiming have already made it known via a unanimous decision that Tsola Emiko is the Olu in waiting....

Atuwatse, Atorongboye, Omoluyiri, Abejoye, Akenjoye, Omagboye were ALL the official royal appelations of previous Olus of the Warri Kingdom, what do those mean in Benin??

So what is the argument about again? ....

When you're talking be afraid because am not just a benin am a benin fanatics i study the benin history for fun.... So i know the in amd out of benin history

Those names you mentioned there are corrupt benin words

Atuwatse = a pure bini word cant find another word as examoke now

Omoluyiri in benin is = omoruyi

Atorongboye = erhiagbonye

And the others from their meaning you can tell the actual word version in edo

The truth is that you are so ignorant and your ignorance stinks. this your ignorance is propelled by the fact that you guys don't travel outside your region and it is a mess for you guys, these are some of the reasons the igbos will always be a better group when compared to the Yoruba. The fact is the land and the people oronmiyan called binis do not refer to themselves as Binis in our native tongue but Edo. hence the need to educate you that Edos and Binis are one and the same thing. the name Benins are only used by the Benins when they are speaking in English for emphasis so you know the group they are talking about. it's just like different names for the same group . example omo oduduwa and Yoruba, easily one would know you are referring to the yorubas. The yorubas and the Benins do not have any relationship outside the monarchy. we are different people linguistically, "if I speak my language as an Edo(bini) whatever you call it and you hear I go die". the Bini monarchy is direct primogeniture from father to son, it is not adulterated and cheap like some classless Yoruba stool. I ordinarily would not have replied you but I have seen some level of stark ignorance under the sun among the yorubas about my people and I wish to correct it

Otemwen lare ne,

Find time to visit my profile for eye opening

Benin and ife relationship its a lie it was formed aftel Nigeria amalgamation by oba eweka and the Ooni to politically unite benin and Yorubas as one for political benefit along the line tribal issues came in and they started attacking themselves with the cooked up mytg

Is a research me and other benins have carried out, and other bini must know the truth tok

It was done many years ago..In 1952..The Olu then was called Olu of Itsekiri but He started calling himself, Olu of Warri..

Ijaws and Urhobos of Warri kicked against this but the Itsekiris took d case to Court and with some Political influence..(They had clout in Obafemi Awolowo's Action Group),,they won d case..

N that it is how Their ruler came to b known as Olu of Warri..

Funny enough,, in Warri town, u hardly see Dem or hear dier language being spoken..

But Urhobo n Ijaw is spoken in d Warri town n extension towns e.g Effurun, Ekpan, Jeddo,etc..

And you think that action of the Action Group was a coincidence?

Awo did it to give another yoruba subgroup an edge over the others in that region. It's self preservation and cultural solidarity. When Awo died Rewane an itsekiri man became the leader of the group before he killed by Abacha's hitmen.

But the Benin dynasty was started by a Yoruba blood, Eweka the Great, the son of Oranmiyan with an Edo mother.

Oranmiyan toppled the existing Ogiso dynasty and that was never reversed till today.

For one thing, I am so at peace with the thread as our future vision is taking shape.

In algebra, ring theory is the study of rings—algebraic structures in which addition and multiplication are defined and have similar properties to those operations defined for the integers. ... Noncommutative rings are quite different in flavour, since more unusual behavior can arise.
