Don't worry, Obiano will Fly in Ebube Agu Squadron through Chief Willie Obiano International Cargo and Passenger Airport to chase the Chinese illegal Oil miners away !
Meanwhile, where are Nestoils and Seplats of this world? How can they be looking for what is in their Sokoto (Trouser) in Sokoto? Isn't it time they will collaborate with Ministry of Petroleum resources and Anambra State Govt. to explore oil nearer home than in the Niger Delta?

Air Peace already has international routes and is owned by an Anambra indigene. He has given indication that he is ready to move his south east hub from Enugu airport to the Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri upon its completion. Other airlines owned by Anambra indigenes like United Airlines and Havila will make the Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri their international hub for the south east zone.

I'm really disgusted that both the state government, state house of assembly and senator representing the area are all silent in the face of this criminal defrauding of the state and gross pollution of the environment? Like seriously? What the hell is going on?

It is dereliction of duty if these afforementiond people I listed above continues to maintain criminal silence while the state continues to bleed!

Maybe the community should even seek self help efforts or maybe even call ESN for help. This rubbish shouldn't be allowed to continue. It needs to be stopped immediately!!!

Anambra: Our International Airport Project on Course

Says first flight to land on April 30

Anambra State government yesterday disclosed that its international airport project was on course, describing as false, a report that the federal government had refused to grant it a licence for international operations for its new airport.

The state government disclosed that the federal government through the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika has been very supportive of the project, and was also impressed with the quality of work on the project.

A statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba stated that the first flight would land at the airport on April 30.

He said: “The first commercial plane is scheduled to land at Anambra International Cargo/Passenger Airport on April 30, 2021, to test-run the facilities at the airport.

“The first plane to land on April 30 belongs to a worthy son of Anambra State, Chief Allen Onyema, who operates the only indigenous international air carrier in the country
.

“A faceless group of hired propaganda guns have crafted and posted on the internet a so-called news report alleging that the federal government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Aviation, has refused to give the Anambra State Government a licence to operate an international airport but has rather offered the state government a licence to run a domestic airport.

“The news report is, of course, false, misleading and mischievous. The report fails to state when the minister announced the alleged decision, how and to whom. In other words, it fails the basic requirements of a news report.

“Yet, we are compelled to refute the substandard report because of the anxiety it has created in millions of Nigerians, particularly Anambra people, across the globe, who cannot wait to make use of the airport.

“Anambra International Cargo/Passenger Airport remains an international airport. It will be commissioned at the appropriate time this year. Like any other airport in the world, it will start with local operations, add regional operations later and finally international flights.

“Its facilities are strong and built to global standards. The facilities are big enough to accommodate the biggest aircraft in the world. The runway is 5.7 kilometres in length and 60 metres in width, the longest and the largest throughout Africa.

“The Minister of Aviation has been exceptional in his support for the airport. The people and government of Anambra State could not have asked for better cooperation from the Minister and relevant agencies under his supervision like the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) whose leadership has never wavered in its praise for the quality of the job done and the commitment of the state political leadership.”

The statement called on the people of the state to discard the news, saying that it was from opposition politicians who were jittery about the successes of the Obiano’s administration

https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/04/20/anambra-our-international-airport-project-on-course/amp/

It is totally plausible and expected that Nigeria would not like the southeast zone to have a credible international gateway. Afterall, in the previous years, the same country has left no stone unturned to frustrate and prevent the proper development of Akanu Ibiam International airport to meet the standard of Lagos, Kano, and Abuja international airports. The "excuse" all this time had been that the Federal Government was not against an international airport in the Southeast region, but lacked the resources to build a befitting one for the region. Their thinking was that southeast governors were totally useless and greedy to embark on the heavily capital-intensive project of building a truly international standard airport based on their meager resources.

However, as his name indicates, Obiano (four hearts) is a man with the bravery of a tiger. Remember Obiano was the first southeast governor to dare building flyovers to decongest the traffic snarl in Awka. In fact when he started three flyovers simultaneously many called him a fool because they didn't believe a southeast state could build one flyover, talk more of three flyovers at the same time! Again, Obiano pleasantly proved us all to be wrong and completed the three flyovers within a record 2 and half years! Thus, he encouraged other southeast states including Rochas, Umahi and Ikpeazu to try and build flyovers in critical traffic junctions of their state.

I remember when Akanu Ibiam International airport was shut down in 2019 and remained shut down for more than 1 year just to resurface a 3KM runway! So when Obiano indicated that Anambra International airport's runway would be 3.7 KM by 60 meters wide and built to the highest international grade to ensure jumbo cargo jets as Airbus A380 and B747 could easily land and takeoff from the airport, almost everyone laughed at this dreamer governor! I doubted Obiano's determination and ability to complete the project so much that I strongly protested investing scarce resources in a project that would end up being abandoned! You can scroll back on my 2019 posts here and see my vehement protests then because i doubted that Obiano would somehow find the resources to execute such a massive gigantic project required for a truly international cargo airport. I never knew the man called Obiano was indeed a lion with 4 hearts! To add to our fears, Obiano announced that he would build 3 access roads to the airport. One would link the 33 road (Onitsha - Agulari road) at Nsugbe, the other would be the main access dual-carriageway from the Enugu- Onitsha expressway and the third would link from the Nteje - Umueri road by the Marist brothers school.

Today to our awesome amazement, Governor Willie Obiano has indeed completed all he promised to do without borrowing from any bank! The airport is slated to receive its first test run flight on April 30th, 2021! Despite Gov. Willie Obiano's good relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari and his Aviation Minister Alhaji Hadi Sirika, it is obvious that the hawks who had plotted to keep the southeast zone in stone age through denying it the benefits of international aviation would still try and throw obstacles towards this project. Nobody should be deceived to expect anything less because we all know that the anti-Igbo elements are alive and well in Nigeria. However, it should not deter the government from developing this airport to the highest standard of an international airport. No matter who tries to throw obstacles towards its eventual international cargo flights' license as previously approved is only fighting a losing battle. The airport is already born and a living reality today. To attain its natural use as an international cargo airport is merely a question of when not if.

Although I know the fake news was from mischief makers, I mean the same ones that has been wishing for Awka flyovers to collaspe from day one and the ones that called the airport audio but I must say no one can stop the international airport at this point because governor Obiano made available all necessary facilities so there would be no excuse to downgrade the airport or whatever.
Besides Anambra has so many influential men that will stop any move by any Fed Govt to frustrate the airport. I must commend the foresight of Obiano when he restricted media from going near the project when it was still being built. Many as usual insulted him for that but that was a masterstroke because the federal government I believe would have tried to frustrate the project if it was built with the whole media buzz but now they are coming to see a completed project. lol

Well, Obiano diligently followed all the consultations during the construction and complied with all the NCAA directives on the project despite the huge financial burden to comply with the NCAA requirements to meet an international airport standard.

Besides, Obiano is a bosom friend of Buhari. Whom he supported openly in 2014 and again in 2019. The issue is that we do know that there are indeed serious anti-Igbo forces who are hell-bent on keeping the southeast backward and undeveloped in Nigeria. So as we know this is fake news, we should be mindful that such people exist at all levels within the Federal government of Nigeria.

Produce Data Of All Herdsmen Operating In Anambra State...Governor Obiano To CP Kuryas

By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)

As part of measures to mitigate farmers/herders conflict in Anambra state, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has directed the state commissioner of Police, Mr. Monday Kuryas, to produce data of herdsmen operating in the state within one week.

Governor Obiano gave the directive during the expanded Cattle Menace Committee meeting held in Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area.

According to the Governor, the measure will help strengthen the state's security architecture, emphasizing that itinerant herders and open grazing remains banned in the state.

He added that the local herdsmen who are well known in the state, will be accommodated, atleast to help fish out the bad ones perpetrating crime.

While warning that drastic steps will be taken after the meeting, the Governor said that the ban on night grazing by the Miyetti Allah will help, asking the committee to fix prices to reflect current market value of cows and crop items.

Present at the meeting were security commanders in the state, Speaker of the state Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uchenna Okafor, Secretary to the state government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, AVM Ben Chiobi, leadership of the state vigilante in the state, CP Ikechukwu Aduba rtd, traditional rulers, presidents-general, House of Assembly members, youths of affected communities, Miyetti Allah leadership in the state, among others.

The Meeting resolved that those concerned should pay backlog of money owed for items damaged during past crisis in various affected communities.

Issues of kidnapping, among others, were also discussed, with solutions proffered, for immediate action.
