Yes. It is also about politics and the "Americanization" threat. grin

Europe wanna be in control of its own money game.

All of them na Vultures las las. Lol

But Danny ehn, wetin una for use the 3.5billion Euros do? grin

€3.5b is a lot..
I don't think it will make much difference... because teams will just try to outbid each other.
Maybe FSG will use part of it to hasten up Anfield remodeling..

Although we aren't present, I drop these for the sake of the African teams we would have "repping" the continent. wink

Although this is a sports section your comment is also important to politics and economics. If eastern Nigeria had put the economics of its region first and not trying to control other regions then Nigeria would have been much better.

Dem too dey fear cheesy those people just dey do gra gra and the clubs ran away. Will arsenal fans really stop watching their club? If they haven't stopped in all these years why would more money make them stop grin

This does show the power English football holds in Europe
It's not about power. Those British guys have a problem of their own. They have a high sense of pride and entitlement, and always like to think that some one is taking advantage of them. The same attitude showed up in Brexit and the Meghan Markle saga.

I'm sure many of them on Twitter did not read the Super League info on the website and listen to what they had to say at least, even if they disagree.

The funny thing is that the idea might have come from the US. The ESL was to be financed by an American bank plus Liverpool and Manchester United are owned by Americans. The whole idea of no promotion, no relegation is so American. Each team would probably play each other 4 time making it like 44 games in a season. Then I am sure they would have had a playoff with maybe 4 teams. I don't think we can even imagine how much money this league would have been making. Imagine a league where every single match is a big match? Instead of watching Burnley vs Newcastle u are watching Barcelona vs Manchester United shocked

At the end of the day I think the ban from international competitions would have been their biggest problem. They would have had to significantly increase pay to keep guys interested.

The fans would have fallen in line if UEFA and FIFA never barked.

Somebody said they will later introduce an All-Star game grin
Team Ronaldo vs Team Messi grin

Seriously, After this season Ndidi has to transfer to a bigger team than leicester City. It is high time that Nigeria have our players at the best clubs in the world especially as super eagles is enjoying a medium Golden generation. We need to produce our own Essien, Drogba, Etoo, mane, salah, Or even Mikel obi. After this season, if ndidi is still at leicester, it means that his overrated. I don tok my own. Say whatever you want to say about osimehn, but give him that credit for being ambitious. He could had been a local champion at lique 1 but he took that risk and signed for a big club. Ndidi needs to take the same risk and sign for a Winning club that's expected to challenge for trophies on a year by year basis

If he is still at leicester he is overrated ? You are spitting trash , you should have said he is underrated rather than overrated if he fails to move

There are no offers for ndidi yet he cant kill him self , DM like fernandinho gueye where 29 before they made the big move

Leave ndidi alone, the offers will come

Koulibally should be play for barca madrid man united, i guess he is overrated right ?

You think say if dem dey call big clubs napoli really dey among ?

Typical African man they will talk down on their own and hail the white or foreign black man. When Ronaldinho and Maradona do it, it's playmaker but an African man dribbling is noisemaking

Leave that your racial blackmail.
Plenty dribble no be play making. There is a reason Big clubs did not bid for the "Special Guy".

Nathan Tella is basically Moses Simon, traditional winger, decent in attack, good in helping out the defence, more likely to assist than score

Verdict: He would be a good squad player, not good enough for first team

Like they say "Ignorance is bliss" you obviously have no idea guys like Okocha are the ones that paved the way for the abundance of African players in the top leagues in Europe. They faced a lot of hurdles those days coupled with pursuit of lucrative conracts taking precedence over playing in a top league. In today's market, an active Okocha will be playing for a top 4 club in England, Spain or Germany. FACT. Please take time and watch games he played and you will see he was a playmaker amd not just a dribbler (based on YouTube highlights). He was a legend and will always be.

Y'know its a wonder how people say weird stuffs about Austin Okocha. They look at the dude through the lens of "today's football". We seem to forget that football has evolved. First of all, whatever dribbles okocha came up with at that time is what an average fan paid for and wanted to see. It is what drew people to whatever club he played for. So in that regard, he was really successful. Pele of 1966, 1970 in today's football is at best an iniesta and not even close to messi if we want to judge it that way. But shouldnt we ask "were they in the same era?"

Okocha was bought for 12 million pounds as far back as 1998. How many african players got that as transfer fee? Respect what the man has done in football. He is an Afcon winner, an olympic gold medallist, a midfield maestro and a dribbling wizard. He has left the scene and we are yet to see anyone as creative as he is till date!
Best part, he is a Nigerian! What more can yall ask for?

I taya O!

You get time to explain to the slowpoke. It's only Nigeria that don't like celebrating its legend while hailing a foreigner for doing the same thing as his legend. Any person that watched okocha and say he wasn't a playmaker is obviously an slowpoke
