Blue3k:The offense are quite different, the situations quite different and I wonder what cows has got to do with auctioning vehicles. What is comparison for? Is cow ur means of transportation or u vandalised people’s farm with it?? |

naptu2:I know all these but do you not see this problem was created by our First Theives in Government for their convenience? They lived on the Island and V/I while their Slave Employees lived Across the river. The problem is starting us in the face and the solution is laughing at us, right behind our backs! I think it is the other way round now, the solution is laughing at us in the face and the problem is dead with old age! |

Blue3k:The gravity of the offense is the difference. Hope Ure satisfied? Cows have been warn to avoid certain areas we they cause destruction of other people’s properties and clashes btw herdsmen and citizens which lead to a lot of destruction and bandits use the herdsmen as disguise to cause terror in communities so yes it’s very different. Herdsmen are now synonymous with terror so they have been banned from certain areas. It is right to seize the cows and do whatever they please with them. |

For me, it's wrong! |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by Blue3k(op): 7:49pm On Apr 23, 2021 |
jaxxy:The reason you're providing isnt logical or sufficient. Anyone driving on the road knows the rules because they have a license and went to drivers education. They know better than to violate traffic laws or risk getting fined and vehicles impounded. Bad drivers kill hundreds and cause accidents that cost people millions every year. In essence herdsmen and drivers both know better, cause deaths and inflict financial cost on victims. |

Blue3k:U can’t compare terrorism and banditry with common traffic offense. Pls reason properly. I’d cows were not banned in certain areas because of this growing menace of insecurity they won’t be banned. It is not about cows the what they have been used and cause in communities. |

Dtruthspeaker:Did you see the gif with the Chinese traffic jams? Did you see people driving against the flow of traffic? Do you know that what happens on Lagos Island is replicated in Manhattan (that is, people come to Manhattan Island in large numbers in the morning to work and leave the island in the evening to return home)? Do you know that most major cities in the world have a business district that people go to in the morning to work and leave in the evening to return home? Governments have their problems, but people should also learn to take responsibility for their actions. Besides, traffic jams are not the only reason that people act in this terrible manner. Come to Alexander Avenue any day, you'll see people who are too lazy to drive round the roundabout and instead they make an illegal U-turn and face oncoming traffic. There is no traffic jam there. It's just a lack of discipline and an I don't care attitude. |

jaxxy:It's reasonable to compare idiots driving against traffic to the other sets of murders. Anyone who doesn't want their car auctioned should pay their fines before the state sells off their vehicle. I'm glad you don't deny the traffic offenders don't cause damage, deaths and havoc. You just want to pretend they're not so bad so we should go easy on them. |

| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by jaxxy(m): 8:13pm On Apr 23, 2021 |
Blue3k:Like u said and I stand on what I say. There is no reason to auction people’s cars. I don’t know the procedures in place b4 they auction them bt I hope there is a grace period to sort out their offenses b4 cruelly auctioning sm1 property for a Traffic offense. Also Lagos has way too many bad roads for so long to be going extremely hard on motorists. That was even my major reason. 2ndly some motorists don’t know certain routes are one way because it wasn’t labeled. 3. Some officials setup motorists just to fine and extort them. We have heard about many of such cases. |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by Blue3k(op): 8:24pm On Apr 23, 2021 |
jaxxy:Lol you're arguing a topic you didn't care to educated yourself on interesting. Anyway the 1st excuse is for the birds. How did anybody get their license not know not to drive against traffic? The other two are reasonable and court would probably see it your way. Lastly whats good for the goose is good for the gander don't break laws whether your herdsman or motorist if you can't take the punishment. |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by jaxxy(m): 8:31pm On Apr 23, 2021 |
Blue3k:I’m sorry I argued based on the limited information I got from the the news about auctioning of peoples personal cars which was infuriating, I didn’t do my research on the laws and it wasn’t stated in the news either. I don’t commit traffic offenses. I’m a good citizen. Lol |

naptu2:In my opinion, this is still caused by the govt! How.? If govt have been serious about prosecuting such behavior, it would have been stopped! People that follow the law, know the consequences of breaking the law! If the law have been religiously applied, people would have behaved by now |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by Dtruthspeaker: 8:54pm On Apr 23, 2021 |
naptu2:Yes, I saw it, and in better organized rule, the traffic moves and the rulers keep it moving. But here in Nigeria, especially in Lagos, organisation of everything is about making personal gains and not about "Doing their Jobs and delivering services owed the people" And if you remember who were the people who commenced this one way filth? Answer, the very same government, with their sirens and whips and death! 2 Wrongs, make 2 Wrongs requiring 2 Remedy and The Law must Still Do No Wrong! The Solution is mocking our rulers and laughing at their foolish faces! |

mfm04622:You can't put a dam across a river and expect the river to not go around it, when it cannot go through it. The solution has always been to remove the obstacle and see if the natural good flow will not be restored! |

FarahAideed:Actually, the Lagos state transport reform law provides for forfeiture as the penalty for driving against traffic amongst other offenses. To my mind, this penalty is not commiserate with the offense. But what do I know, Lagos is a crazy place |

Dtruthspeaker:The solution is mocking our rulers and laughing at their foolish faces while people are being killed by irresponsible drivers that drive against the flow of traffic. Mocking the government will comfort the families of the bereaved I guess. It will provide comfort to people like me that have almost been knocked down by such irresponsible people, I'm sure. It will comfort the family of the Yabatech student that was killed by the deputy governor's motorcade that was going against the flow of traffic on Herbert Macaulay Way in 2000. I'm going to stop arguing with you because I do not believe that you are taking this thing seriously. Did you read what the chief justice of Lagos said about the girl that was killed by a one way driver in Lekki? It seems like you do not care. naptu2: naptu2: GidiParrot:This is my last post to you. |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by themanderon: 7:15am On Apr 24, 2021 |
Very wrong. It leaves room for abuse of that law. Those devils in lastma have been known to deceive motorists into making errors and they pounce and seize their cars. Heavy fines should be given instead. |

PoshTraveler:Before making a grievous offense of driving against traffic, you should think of the consequences. Majority of Nigerians are idiots and a reflection of the leaders we have. Do you know you can actually ruin people’s lives for driving against traffic? Killing other people in the process and inflicting a never-ending pain on their families because you can’t be patient. That’s the selfishness we are talking about. Auctioning a vehicle of a traffic offender is even being nice. The vehicle should be crushed, the owner should be made to pay the cost of it being crushed and made to watch it being crushed. That way, those who have chosen to be mad on the road would drastically reduce! |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by Dtruthspeaker: 8:11am On Apr 24, 2021 |
naptu2:I am very serious about it but I am even more serious that Proper and Right "Just is", be Done! If You Would Be Fair, YOU WOULD SEE THAT YOU HAVE DEPARTED FROM THE ISSUE OF THE "JUST IS" OR INJUSTICE OF PUNISHING TRAFFIC OFFENDERS BY TAKING AWAY Their Property And Selling Them AND KEEPING THE PROCEEDS OF SALE, WITH A SMILE for a traffic situation, caused by these same TO THE KILLING OF PERSONS BY ONE WAY OFFENDERS, WHICH IS NOT THE ARGUMENT, AND THIS HAS EVEN BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. For when there is a death, the Offender is in a worse position liable for Serious "Damages" (Compensation) to the family of the Deceased, like every other Harm, and Imprisonment as was done to Ibinabo Miss MBGN, and she was not driving against traffic. So using going on about the death of a Victim and harm occasioned by traffic offenders is totally unnecessary for in those situation, the matter gets aggravated and "Just is" will been done and is being done. The same situation applies to Accidents too but you have not clamoured that all Causers of Accident should be "Sold" as Slaves or "Crushed" or their personal Properties taken away and sold and the Proceeds of Sale kept with a Smile and a Bottle of Champagne.! This is a perfect case In violation of The Law of Fair Hearing and Equity to wit "You Can Not Be A Judge In Your Own Cause", "Nemo Judex in Causa Sua"! The Mobile Court's are not Courts, They are simply "Alausa" on wheels! Raised to do the Will of Alausa to Declare that your Property has been Stolen from you. "Just is" will not be given there. The Law Can Not be used to Steal or Do Any Bad or Wrong Thing! That is Unlawful Ab initio! |

How did I manage to be in same country with these kind of people. Why una the compare cow and car. Bro cow shouldn't be allowed to roam around public because they are livestock and personal farm. My God . Who do us. If your neighbour allow his goat to eat up vegetables will be happy? For God sake livestock is the responsibility of the owner to provide shelter for them and keep them within his farm because it's a private business and a national law need to be passed on this to cub this rubbish. But the uneducated morons we have up there will never do that because of the toes they'll step on. Of want to own a cow you should buy a piece of land to herd it. Same as people that owns poultry have their fame. Why can't herders have their own farm, is it because it's a business from one particular region? |

OlujobaSamuel:But the punishment for such an offense has been stated clearly in 5he Lagos State Traffic and Other Offense Law. |
| Re: Is Lagos State Wrong For Selling Seized Vehicles? by OlujobaSamuel: 11:36am On Apr 24, 2021 |
unitysheart:The court will determine if such law is legal/justifiable. Do you know that the electoral act we are currently using has a section that states that court can't determine the winner of an election, but that part was declared to be void by a FHC and the ruling wasn't appealed till date, that is the reason why court is still declaring winner of an election. So a suit might result to a ruling nullifying that aspect of the law, because the bill was passed doesn't make it legal, it's just like the case of Hisbah destroying people's business in the name of Sharia law, it can't stand the test of the law of challenge at the court, but no one is ready for that due to some interest, most especially, political interest. |
