On Apr 25, 2021
More payments will be made from this week to the next batch of beneficiaries of the Economic Sustainability Programme (ESP) Survival Fund’s Payroll support track and the one-off General MSME Grant of N50,000.

According to a statement by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, on Sunday, it is furtherance of the present administration’s support for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic under the ESP.

The statement said this is expected to increase the number of beneficiaries under the Payroll Support track, which has so far benefitted a total of 319,755 Nigerians, while 265,425 Nigerians are beneficiaries under the Artisan and Transport Support track.

It explained: “Of the 265,425 beneficiaries, there are 118,581 beneficiaries under Artisan support track, and 146,844 beneficiaries under the Transport track.

“The payroll support track aims to support 500,000 beneficiaries with payment of up to N50,000 per employee for a period of three months.

“The MSME Survival Fund, a component under the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan, NESP, is designed to support vulnerable Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in meeting their payroll obligations and safeguard jobs in the MSMEs sector.

“The scheme is estimated to save not less than 1.3 million jobs across the country and specifically impact on over 35,000 individuals per state.”

The statement recalled that applications for the MSME Grants and the Guaranteed Off-take Stimulus Scheme opened on February, 9th, 2021 and closed on March 1, 2021.

It further stated: “The General MSME Grant is a one-off grant of N50,000 that will be given to each qualified MSME as direct cash injection into their enterprise. The total number of beneficiaries in this track is 100,000 spread across the States.

“In the same vein, under the Artisan Support scheme, a total of 333,000 Artisans and Transport business operators nationwide will get one-time operations grant of N30,000 per beneficiary to reduce the effects of income loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Also, 172,129 businesses have so far benefitted under the ESP Survival Fund formalisation support track, which is aimed at registering 250,000 new businesses for free with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

“The formalisation support scheme had commenced on the 26th of October, 2020, with the registration by aggregators – CAC registration agents across the 36 states and the FCT.

“The processing of applications for the Guaranteed Offtake Stimulus Scheme is still ongoing and the commencement of this track will be announced on a later date.

“The Guaranteed Off-take Stimulus Scheme is aimed at protecting and sustaining the incomes of vulnerable Micro and Small Enterprises by guaranteeing the offtake of their products. A total of 100,000 Micro and Small Enterprises are to benefit from the scheme.”

Lol guys, according to a statement just now, they claimed they have started disbursement.... Lol ; cheesy

Why do I have a feeling this is a sham.... The last disbursement wastn much spoken about

https://www.radionigeria.gov.ng/2021/04/28/fg-begins-disbursement-of-new-msme-grants/

The Federal Government on Wednesday said beneficiaries of the MSMEs Survival Fund’s Payroll support track and the one-off General MSME Grant have started receiving payments.

It would be recalled that the commencement of payment to beneficiaries of the Payroll Support track and the one-time General MSME Grant was announced on Sunday.

This follows the approval of the Steering Committee of the MSME’s Survival Fund for the payment to successful beneficiaries of the Payroll Support and General MSME Grant tracks.

According to a statement by the presidency, over N13billion has been made available for the Payroll Support track, and over N2billion for the General MSME Grant respectively.

The statement says for the Payroll Support track, where beneficiaries are supported with a N30,000 or N50,000 grant per month for a period of three months, 146,065 successful beneficiaries from 28 States have started receiving payment of the sum of N30,000 each.

It says each beneficiary under this batch of payment will receive the payment of N90,000 as three-months’ salary support directly from the Federal Government.

According to the statement, the states include Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Bayelsa, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, and Jigawa.

Others are Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.

This brings a total of 465,820 beneficiaries so far under the Payroll support scheme nationwide.

The presidency explained that under the General MSME Grants track, 46,117 successful beneficiaries in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and 36 States have started receiving payment for the one-off grant of N50,000 each.

This total makes up 50 percent of the required disbursement per State. Another batch that completes the target is forthcoming.

The total number of beneficiaries in this track is 100,000 spread across the States. The one-off grant of N50,000 will be given to each qualified MSME as direct cash injection into their enterprise.

The MSME Survival Fund, a component under the ESP is designed to support vulnerable Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in meeting their payroll obligations and safeguard jobs in the MSMEs sector. The scheme is estimated to save not less than 1.3 million jobs across the country and specifically impact over 35,000 individuals per state. Lol

The ESP was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari on June 24, 2020, as a N2.3 trillion stimulus plan to mitigate the socio-economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nigerians.

The Plan was developed by the Economic Sustainability Committee chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who the President also asked to lead its implementation.

No free money in this country, the emotional stress these guys are putting people through is more than a 200k job. What stops a reasonable government from disbursing payments on a Monday rather than waiting till thursday or friday? These guys needs to have their heads checked honestly.
