Unless you plan to stress yourself, don't bother until land borders are opened.

You can make it through but be ready to offer bribes and maybe even use alternative routes that are not so convenient, especially at the Aflao Ghana/Togo border and also at the Ghana/Cote d'Ivoire border (passing through Dormaa in Ghana and out at Agnibilekrou in Cote d'Ivoire)
can one travel to ivory coast without passport when the border opens??

Yes you can... BUT for your own sake and peace of mind, please have your passport – it will not stop the Ghanaian and Ivorian immigration officers from trying to fleece you of your money though...

I think you meant trenchville, a lot of Nigerians (yoruba) in trenchville.

Your budget should be around 50,000 cefa to 100,000 cefa monthly. Depends on the location and size.

Adjame is quite cheaper, filled with igbos similar to Alaba international market. Quite rough though compared to other places of Abidjan.

Overall ivorians are cool people minding their business, but U still gotta watch out for phone snatchers in a place like Adjame.

most developed part of Abidjan are cocody, marcody and plateau, these districts looks like mini Paris.

Yopongon is the largest district in Abidjan, its almost the size of 5local governments in Lagos.
Altogether, there are 10 districts in Abidjan.
There are many ivorians there and there is flexing there,if you are not careful, life go carry u go cheesy
Abidjan is huge, its landmass is slightly smaller than Lagos state with 7million population.

from my uncle that have lived there

I just flew into Abidjan from Germany with my girlfriend two days ago, and so far, it's been so good.

Can anyone recommend where I can exchange money with good rates? Also, how can one get around with sotra bus system? I have been using a taxi since I came, but I want to travel and live like a local. And anyone knows if the borders are open? I want to travel to Ghana, Guinea, and Burkina Faso possibly. We really want to see West Africa, and this is the time. Recommendations are welcome.

I will be updating my sojourn here in Abidjan as time goes by, but so far, it has been so good. Food is the cheapest thing here.

Make sure you don't leave the country without visiting ile Boulay and Assinie Mafia

Precisely, this has been the option for some time now. Hopefully, we can return to our elubo route sooner than later.

You can make use of your Naira Master cards, though charges and exchange rates are always discouraging. If not for security, having cash would have been the best

Hello bro, can I get your email? Was hoping to ask you some stuff about Senegal.

No fix amount because you can't determine how much immigration officers at each border might collect.

Budget between 200–250k... although in this COVID-19 period, it may be a little more than that.
Remember that this amount is not just for your flight ticket, there's other expenses you will incur – yellow fever vaccination et al.

I spent a short time in Abidjan and only visited a few times, I was based in Bouake (an hour plus by bus to Abidjan) for most of my stay in the Ivory Coast.

This would be Adjame, just because I had a stop-over there one time when going from Bouake to Agnibelekrou. Lots of businesses go on there and it's very busy, it felt like I was in mini-lagos.

I also remember passing through some shops (selling household materials) that had white men taking inventory/stock of goods so casually. It was funny because those are not things you will see in a Nigerian market.

Sorry I didn't answer your previous question... I was not doing business in Cote d'Ivoire, so the cost of renting shops is not known to me.

The border is still closed. I planned to go on my bike end of this month but it seems I will fly. I will certainly miss the road adventures.
