Good afternoon everyone, University of Manchester stated that my WAEC result is outdated and cant be used as an English Language requirement. This was not stated on their page.

What can I do please?

It was stated on their website. See the image below.

It’s either you take IELTS or try Manchester metropolitan uni or uni of Salford if u really wanna school in Manchester. You can check Uni of Bolton as well.

That Uni of Manchester ehn, they have plenty shakara and it’s not pocket friendly.

Unless he has attended US embassy interview, he wont know if its like US embassy interview. A better question is what topics are covered and how was the atmosphere smiley

hustla:

How's the interview like? Is it like US embassy interview or its just the school that conducts an interview?

Im a bit confused

You didn’t mention the country where you got the refusal so I am assuming it is the UK.

I don’t know how fast you need this letter, however using this link will give you full details of your UK immigration history including the letter you seek. I received mine after 3 weeks of application.

Thank you

No point applying with different email, some schools will still link it but there is no rule that says you can't apply for more than a course in a particular sch, just make sure you have experience in all your prospective courses.

All 3 received same day.

School: Coventry University
May intake.

It has been a long journey trying to get a study visa. After 5 refusal from Canada, we decided to calm down and later decided to go to UK instead. My wife actually loves Canada because her sister has been there.

We declared all refusal and stated the reasons.

I just want to say thank you to the brain behind Nairaland creation. It’s really helping.
Also let no one give up. We never did.

Thanks so much. That information is a great for IOM is a saving grace already.

I was able to book for 5th of July. But couldn't book for my child as his pasport isn't out yet. I was thinking of just going with him after payment and explain, but having his Passport at hand. Is that a good move?

By the way, that YouTube video is dope. What camera and lense did you used?

Once there's proof of payment for him too, I'll advise that you just go with him on your day. If you're able to get his passport before then, you can try to still book for him but I don't think that they'll turn a child away because of that. When I did mine apparently I didn't book the date when I selected it on the website. So when I got in I was assisted to redo the online filling again and there were no issues.

Thanks concerning the video, it was shot with a GoPro Hero 8 camera. More videos of London coming!!!

Congratulations, you've gone a step forward in your application journey. Most schools in the UK have a high percentage of Nigerians and Indians. From my experience, London has more job opportunities, maybe that's because it's the capital city.

Please I don't want to be a bearer of bad news but as a student just remove your mind from using whatever salary you earn in the UK to pay tuition, it won't work. The reasons are;

1. As a student you're to work only 20 hours a week. That in itself has cut your earnings by half time.
2. From my experience, most UK companies want full-time. It took me months to get a company that will take part-time.
3. When you get here, you can't start work immediately because the quarantine will take two weeks of your time before you can get your BRP, then you have to do documentations like getting your National Insurance number that companies will use to pay you and it will be on your tax record. Mine took about 2 months. When you have all that sorted then comes the job search part, most students do menial jobs like care jobs (you also need to do a criminal check (DBS) before they employ you which might take 2-3 weeks) and warehouse jobs because those ones are in shifts and you can easily do your 20 hours.

All in all, your salary might pay for your accommodation, transport, and food but won't cover the rest of your tuition. So have a back up even if it is for the rest of your tuition and be ready for those long months before you get a job and start making money. It took me 3 months before I got an office job that will take part-time.

Good luck on your journey and be prepared!!!

For those who have questions about what happens next after getting your visa, and life in the UK, you can follow this thread that has been created.
https://www.nairaland.com/6541325/starting-life-uk-after-getting#101443424

IMPORTANT!!!
This is not a thread about applying for a visa or the process. This is just for you to gather experience from people who are in the UK and what they did when they first got into the country.

It should not be more than two to three weeks. You need to go there, first-floor Senate building, and meet them in the records office, explain your case to the security man at the entrance he will link you up.. Or tell you to fill a small slip downstairs, albeit, unilag don't delay transcript, you can give them one more week.
