Hello everyone, I intend traveling next week.
Pls how can I retain my 9ja number so as to be able to make calls and receive and text and all.
Thanks in anticipation smiley

If you use an airtel sim..with balance of N5000 airtime you will be able to receive free calls for up to 300 mins per month.so if you just have a dual sim phone, you can use your Uk phone no. and naija number.

The woman is strong ooo. 3 kids 4 years. If no multiple birth then that back to back . She tried

Depending on the kids but its hard to hide 3 kids as their evidence would be seen when it's time to return deposit. I think she should come out straight and say it
okay . Thanks

This is also true

.. But the lizard would have shown some signs of wanting to mature into a crocodile

A lizard that is spending money meant for japaing away from the 'Nigerian condition is not a serious lizard to begin with

A lizard they have to pay for marriage with him also doesn't look like a serious one that will ever metamorphose into anything reasonable except a loser

smiley
You forgot to add that same lizard brought up the idea of the UK dreams and gave some non-financial support. If he had the money,he probably would have supported financially.

I don't believe someone who can take time to write and earn a living from it is a total loser. He just needs focus and something to inspire him to quit the gambling . The idleness and joblessness in Nigeria make a lot of men resort to gambling as a way to pass time and gives them hope of a breakthrough some day.

I did kept mute on this issue but u have said it all. U actually talked from an angle of street oriented person.

It might be frustration, he might be depressed and I believe good life will change his orientation.

Boss I understand African marriages, but it's not exactly the same in this case. The lady married the man , and not the other way round, so its not totally African marriage. A man who is paid for his own marriage squanders the money, and the lady has to shell out another money again?

I understand marriages have their up and down but in a case where a man is dragging foot and the lady is the one pushing the marriage , then it's quite more complicated than you say.

I agree though that many Nigerians living in the UK tend to forget that our culture is different, so while other races try to maintain a semblance of their cultures, Nigerians in the UK tend to be more westernised than even the british. But this case is probably a bit different.

I pray the lady get help from above and makes the best decision

Ok.
We pray she gets divine wisdom to make best decision. If only humans have power to see into the future. Unfortunately,we don't.

Hello all.

I have finally gotten an appointment next week for biometric capture for passport renewal.

The email I received did not mention anything about paying for the money order however, it was clearly stated that I need to bring a 'stamped C4 special delivery envelope'. I have previously seen in the platform that a sort of money order was required to be paid.

Please, just wondering if anybody recently attended their appointment in London and still paid the money order.

Kind Regards.

Please when did you apply for it? Was it through their online service or you went to the embassy in person?

You can recharge 100 naira into your numbers once in 6mths to maintain them. WhatsApp calls all the way to Nigeria and many other apps with cheaper rates for phone calls.

Hi, I can tell you for sure that I did not hand over any postal or money order. I went with a self addressed envelope as mentioned. The process is a lot quicker, and my turn around time spent in the embassy was under 1hr 30 mins for Passport Renewal. I had my appointment today.
Is the old passport collected from you assuming still valid? When is the estimated time to get the new passport?

What kind of people should you acquaint yourself with and where can you network to meet better people ?

Most of the advice I've seen is to avoid Nigerians and Nigerian churches

My opinion on this might be controversial, but it is my experience. I wouldn't go as far as saying avoid Nigerians, but I will argue that there are enormous benefits to be gained from mingling with people who are not from your own background. The last time I was on a course which happened to have 2 Nigerians in it, one of them was trying to convert me to his faith.

I second this as well. So far, the African (Ghanaian) I met have been trying to convert me after respectfully declining multiple times. The issue of mingling with Nigerians whether old friends or new acquaintances has been a shocking experience for me. I would rather not get into it. May God see us through.

The old passport was returned (though cancelled) and the estimated collection date (even it will be posted) was 10 calendar days.

I can write a book on this issue as I have gone to hell and back on this… though I will not tell anyone to avoid Nigerians, rather I will say..be careful about the type of Nigerians you hang out with and choose Nigerian/African churches you attend carefully.

Some Nigerians have used religion to enslave other Nigerians including their bank accounts and their day to day activities .

The version of Christianity we practice in Nigeria and exported to other part of the world is the business version

Be careful of advice you take from these people living in the UK. Most of them already think like the British and may advise you wrongly.
Lol.. meaning thinking like a Nigerian means encouraging a toxic marriage, enduring loveless marriage for the sake of culture?

A foreign student studying and working to pay her school fees is planning to bring her husband who cheats, gambles and fights to the UK? Suicide mission

Congrats. For NHS treatment, I did not give birth to my son in the UK and he gets proper treatment from the Health payment we made (which you tag as free). So I am very sure your son will get that treatment for free (in your words) cos the ones wey dem born outside but de here de get the treatment. I don’t know what part of the UK you are in, but from what I have seen, this UK people don’t joke with “kids n treatment”. So you go enjoy that one wella.

Thanks a whole lot

I made my online application on 24th August 2020.

However, you have to click a separate link to book the actual appointment for biometric capture. I did this on 11th October 2020.

Cheers.

Good morning everyone, glad to be in this next phase.

Please how are you all sorting accommodation? Most of the ones I’m seeing either don’t want children or don’t want students.

My school is ulster in Birmingham. Can someone provide some guides please?

Hello , Thanks. This is very useful. Can I bother you to kindly list the documents that you had to present at the High Commission. Just Factchecking the online requirements, I want to come fully prepared to avoid any onsite 'help' that usually come at high premium. Cheers
