There is nothing wrong about his action , laws don't care about your feelings.

You know little about the legal system. Don't make the mistake of believing you could just anything cause you're on your right, the law isn't that mechanical. Not all reactions are justified by the actions that led to them.

I have never said he was morally right. But who are we to judge morals? I might not react the way he did, but I may not rush to condemn him either.

Was she right to hold on to him? Was he wrong to react violently? Is one wrong more wrong or less so? Even if such standards exist, can we arrive at a conclusion from the video alone?

Anyway, i suppose we can agree to disagree.

Point is, not all reactions are justified by the actions that led to them and this guy's reaction is one of those. Even the law isn't that mechanical. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy is expelled.

Like I told the other guy, actions lead to reactions but not all reactions are justified by those actions. Lecturers have no business getting physical with students and if the lady were the one who resorted to that, she wouldn't be right. But then even that wouldn't justify her students hitting her especially if she wasn't hitting him. That guy was extremely violent and it sadens me that you guys aren't seeing that.

Now to answer your question, any female that raised her hands to hit her lecturer just for the mere fact that he held her clothe deserve to be expelled. You can refuse to move, you can hold his hands and try to pull them off, you can scream at him to leave you. But if you start hitting him, that wouldn't be an equitable reaction and you'd amazed at how easy it is to move from the right side to the wrong side. Don't believe you could just anything cause you're on your right, the law isn't that mechanical.

Great! I just wanted to make sure you had no gender bias or prejudice. I'm actually sick of the way males, boys, and men are treated in our society today.

Situations are usually turned against us when a female is involved. If the reverse is the case, the females are pitied, and you'll hear things like, "Leave her, she's a lady.", just like how people were screaming, "She's a woman" in the video. You see people in the comment calling for the guy's head, and saying," He deserves to be shot." "He should be beaten."

The question is, will they say the same if it was a lady? Why do we feel assaulting a man is fine, but not a woman. Shouldn't both be wrong?

Personally, if I was the guy I wouldn't resort to violence regardless of the gender. I'll try to diffuse the situation amicably. But I know some people who will not hesitate to knock the wind out of her balls.

Both genders should be treated equally. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Cheers!

Never ever try to insult your superior anywhere you find yourself even in oyibo country, rather try set them up with incriminating evidence if you want revenge.

To me, anger can lead to so many troubles, the guy was wrong hitting her, even if he was trying to free himself, he should have used mercy words or play words to free himself without using violence, imagine if she fainted or died in the process, no court would hear all these, it was a self defense, he would ve just begged her even if it takes hours, her hrt go soft and she will leave him, after so many yrs of hard work and money, i seeing trouble and i am walking inside the trouble, if na Uniben, that guy should kiss his degree goodbye, cos the senate go expel him immediately without hearing it was a self defense, that woman is an Authority, the guy should have first obeyed her, if he no hear her d first time, and she angerly held him, he should have diplomatically free himself from her without using violent means

In other countries you will attend university

Infact it’s possible your lecturer will not even speak to you throughout your 3 or 5 year course

Yet you get the best education this planet can offer

But Nigeria is such a different country sometimes I wonder why is everything in Nigeria so different

You go to school you meet Demi God teachers or semi God institutions

You drive your car on the road you meet Demi God police

Everything is just different

Like if you have ever spent more than 1 year outside this Nigeria you will realize how weird and different Nigeria is

are you not witnessing the majority here supporting the Demi god lecturer

I'm not a female and if you can't logically present your argument without resorting to gender dichotomy, then you're clearly the sentimental one here. There's no place on earth where what the guy did is justifiable. He was very violent.
So if the woman came at him with a knife he should be looking abi? Stupidity

This is not being too emotional.
Why must a grown up man beat a woman like that. Even in a environment where knowledge is dispensed .

So you think there is no knowledge in America when the render countries into war zones

Don't start what you can't finish

One of his likes said he was trying to free himself. How does that look like that?
Did you watch the video at all?
Those blows are too much for a woman. If not that the woman is strong she should have fainted. Some women can't take two of those punches without going down.

Ask yourself, what if that woman was your elderly sister, aunt or mum. Would you have been calm?
Won't you have beaten hell out of that guys life?

Until we put ourselves in other people's shoes, we would continue to be partial in our judgement.

That's not been emotional.
I would have killed anyone doing such to my wife, Aunt or Mom without thinking about the consequences.

Happy weekend

With this video evidence he should be charged p and prosecuted for public nuisance, disturbance of public peace, physical assault, GBH, and be given jail sentence. He should also be expelled from the school and blacklisted in all private and public Nigerian and African universities, preventing him ever from matriculating and graduating from any universities. No matter the cause of the event, you don’t act in this manner. He should seriously sanctioned.
she is the one that is holding him o

I’m just seeing it now that you’ve been asking pointless questions here, probably you’re the guy, who knows?

I’m from Ekiti State, and I know ABUAD very well, it’s not your regular government university (I attended one of course) where misconducts are grossly allowed. In schools like that, students get punished for even lesser offenses.
We’ve read of such here, what’s bad in asking you put on your ties as required in your current environment( if it were to be me, no one would even have to ask me before I do that), if he had obliged to the simple instruction, would there be altercations? If he was simply rude EOD!

As I’ve wrote before, you’ve been asking several people up there pointless question, so in that regards, this is my last response to you sir, adios!

Hhmm... I am man and having lived 'all my life' in another man's country where I am the minority, I clearly understand the need for equality or equity as the case may be. But do you really mean what you just said? Do Nigerians really want that? Do Nigerians really want gender equality or is it that when we talk about situations where women get pity (mostly physical abuse), we say women and men should be treated equally. But when it comes to other social issues, we remember a man and woman can never be equal? I do not come to Nigeria often but judging from what I read on here, I believe women even have more reasons to seek gender equality in Africa.

Permit me to share with you: if she's rich and single, she's ashawo. If she's hit at home, she doesn't bring peace of mind or talks too much. If the husband cheats, she should understand men are naturally polygamous. If she's raped, it's cause of her dressing. If she sacks anyone at work, women are naturally wicked. If her boyfriend leaves her, the guy is "my G" for using them girls. If she's a leader, she must have slept her way through. If she's a celebrity, she's a prostitute. If she has issues with another lady, women are thier own problem. If she does nothing, Nigerian girls are useless, all of them. It's as if we are the saints who never do wrong and even when we do, we reconfigure the women to live with it. It baffles me how Nigerians criticise ladies for sleeping around while hailing men for doing the same thing. Who do they think the men are sleeping with? Dogs?

So you see, while agree with you that women should be held accountable when they abuse people physically, I also believe that equality should be extended to other aspects especially those aspects that require cultivating positive mindset.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk. cheesy

As much as I don't support him but she has no right holding him that way, that's first an assault on him...

It's obvious so many Nigerians are used to being oppressed. I don't see this happening in saner climes, I have one too many folks who have gone out to study and they tell me how respectful their lecturers are towards them, them is only being the typical Nigerian lecturer...She is guilty of assault unless something else played out that was captured.

You better wake up from slumber and forget "saner climes" that you've not been to... this is Nigeria... That guy us expelled and not his chances 9f getting into another university is slim. How do young folks do stuffs and don't think at all

What if she dies?

You think your peeps will be proud of you. And hail you for being a MAN.

All your ego can't last thirty minutes after the did is done.

The aftermath is gnashing teeth behind bars.
Life calls for wisdom and calmness.

I pray you won't suffer such.

What if he dies after she has assaulted him, she will also be behind bars.
Whether a woman or a man, we should as much as possible always be wise and have restraint when dealing with such issues.
Violence against a man by a woman should also be discouraged.

Oga, i remembered a new rule then in uniben, no earpiece on ur ear while walking, i didn't take it serious, a hostel porter from girl hostel, saw me and dragged it frm my ear and seize it, that was 2013,i have to follow the lady and begged her just released the earpiece, after staying with her for over an hr, she told me to get her drink and snack and she released it, every schools has his rules and conducts, in his own case, tie was one of the dressing code, he should have just obeyed or just politely plead with her to let him do wat he came there to do, mine, earpiece was banned in uniben at that time due to accidents that happened at ugbowo road, and if u are caught, u may end up facing disciplinary panel, i just had to use maturity to follow her, not to enter trouble and also get back my beloved earpiece, he should have diplomatically done it in a way to free himself, who knows wat he said or did that an elderly woman will end up holding his trouser so firm, he should have use his head, he hasn't even graduated, even if he has graduated and taken his result, the skol also ve alright to recall his result or certificate

Unlike the other guy on the other thread in South east that was well disciplined by the youths.

This "Apple phone era and century" gets as e be.........
that is how people will be using phone to do recording while someone is suffering from accident or any other serious threat, rather than HELPING sad

Pound the guy for what? In the Nigerian university system, the relationship between students and most lecturers can best be described as toxic so seeing a fellow student take on a lecturer could have been the best thing to ever happen to them.
