pampering a kid too much will make him too timid, shy,and in most case loose. There should be a limit to the care you wish to give a child. Always act as if you dont love him/her.Careful monitoring and advice is key to raising a child. Beating no dey solve anything. Pikin wey go spoil go spoil. You don't necessarily need to beat up a child to set him/her right. Like my nephew, about 2years old now. I don't beat him but when he's doing something wrong, and I scode him, he understands and adjusts immediately. While the mother out of love does the opposite. There are many ways to correct them. The problem is that, many parents thinks because they are too young, that they probably won't understand, which in my opinion is wrong. The truth is, kids a very intelligent and are capable enough to take advantage of the over pampering and most parents fall for it. As young as my nephew is, if I seat him down in a place as a punishment for doing wrong, he would never get up until I tell him to, but he never obeys his mother to that extent because of her approach. Your facial expressions matters a lot while correcting a kid. You can't say don't do this while smiling and expect them to refrain from it.

I work in a private school where you dare not touch a child in the name of discipline, when you mistakenly do, the child will tell his or her parents, the parents will come and be giving serious warning infront of the child that him/her as the parent doesn't beat his children not to talk of a teacher, you will see a student touching a teacher's hair in admiration, you will see them talking back at the teacher carelessly, even when you are correcting them, they will be smiling stupidly without remorse. The problem here is just that not everyone can train up a child.

You got it, she's never comfortable whenever I tell the kid to stay put and she too can't stop complaining of how the little lad deprives her of her personal time or even hear her when she speaks to him.
I just laugh and turn a blind eye. Kids like that becomes too dependent and can't play and stay happy on their own, always crying.

Many of us were brought up like slaves by our parents subconsciously.

The create a child that will be useful to the society, a cain is not neccesasary.

The way the rich bring up their kids is diff from the way the poor bring up their kids.
