Adegokenath: U might be very right, because 2 weeks ago,I bought a land some where in Abuja, after 6days the agent called me with a buyer, offering me additional one million on the same land. Although that area is on high demand, but i didnt know how hot it was until this offer came. This ur advice has some elements of truth in it. 1 Like |

Adegokenath: Emergency fund and money you will need in less than 12 months time eg school fees, house rents and other regular expenses are better invested in Money Market Fund and Treasury Bills. 7 Likes |

Who has invested on Smartsaver.ng before? They claim to give upto 25% per annum on a 12months investment. They also claim to be insured by NDIC among other things. Piggyvest is well established and trusted by many; but they give 10% per annum on a 12months investment. So how safe is smartsaver.ng? 1 Like |

@Emmanuelewumi please what do you think about this investment strategy for a Nigerian in diaspora I want to put some amount in S&P 500 and apple shares to allow for capital appreciation then about a month before zenith bank pays its final divided, i will sell off my apple and s&p 500 to buy zenith shares. After dividend payment, whenever price rises above entry price, i sell off and repatriate the money back into apple and sp500 and this cycle continues. The aim is to benefit from capital appreciation, avoid devaluation and enjoy NSE dividend yield. What do you think may be the demerit of this investiment strategy. Thanks. 1 Like |

Topson88: US market is trading lower because of inflation fears. The capital you want to preserve may be trimmed. Besides when you want to enter after you have sold your Zenith shares you may be buying Apple and index funds at a higher entry price. Plus you have naira devaluation to contend with. So ur gains in Zenith may be wiped off when converting proceeds to dollar. Have you considered dividing the money and managing the portfolios seperately? 5 Likes |
