Bashir Gwandu fought Eugene Juwah with all Northern mafia but failed because Jonathan was in power. Immediately Buhari came into power, Eugene Juwah was sacked or his tenure not renewed. Prof Dambatta was brought in.

Professor Dambatta had been a University lecturer when Patanmi was in Secondary school. When OBJ established NITDA, late Professor Gabriel AJAYI was the DG, after his death, Professor Cleopas Angaye a technology wizard was brought from US by Obj to head NITDA. Today To the North, that was TURECI, too know. They politicized NITDA DG' s appointment and forgot about merit and experience and brought in their people. That was the beginning of politicization of Technology in Nigeria. Today, Patanmi and Dambatta are in charge of Communication in Nigeria. They are working with their brothers in other MDAs.

IMEI registration is good but not for the purpose for which it is done in civilized society. They want to cage Nigerians. They want to waste our time and resources. When late Professor AJAYI and later Prof Cleopas Angaye was at NITDA, Patanmi was in Secondary school. The only interest they have in IMEI registration is not tracking of stolen phone but for monitoring purposes.

They are always holding Nigeria down. They used Nitel to hold the entire country to ransom until OBJ broke the monopoly. 2023 please come quickly let Patanmi, Malami, Dambatta and their people pack their load and go.

They will steal your phone... yes but it will be useless.. because you will report and it will be locked. before it's opened, Questions like
IS it a SIM Locked? Was this phone stolen or lost? and so on ..All this uncomfortable questions would be asked and it will be dictated in the system when the person comes to unlock... It would deter some people from buying stolen phones..And before any phone is opened, you come with some ID...Like international passport, Local ID not birth certificate ....

To be honest with you, That's the problem of developing Country... They give little or no information before enforcing any Bill, And that gives room to speculations...they should have informed the Citizens first the reasons why they were doing what they were doing.......There should have been room for a press conference where they can highlight the advantage, the disadvantage, benefits etc and rooms for Questions and answer section...So my brother I don't know...I was only speaking out of little experience based on how it works....

Yes I will demand for an explanation. The problem is that Nigeria have made us not to ask questions if a policeman hold you today you won't be able to ask questions. I will ask questions because is my right to know. And again something of this nature happening over there will be a piece of paper handed over to you for proper explanation. Yes I will ask them why I need to register my phone IMEI because is personal. Give your IMEI to a good pentester and see what the person can do. And you will know why this doesn't hold water they should explain to us why will need to submit it.

I don't know what you are saying ooo. But i know that websites always have or obtain this informations legally i.e your phone number, phone type, model, phone name, IP address, phone certificates etc even IMEI.

Very simple... the criteria of purchasing any simpack is always that you register it there and then before it will be handed to you... it usually takes 2mins to register at any shop...That will reduce crime alot in Nigeria... I'm even surprised that it has not been introduced in Nigeria in this modern time...Every shop that sells sim is linked with network providers...
