They are not rare. It depends on what you are looking for in a church.

What do you look out for when choosing a church?

I see too many politics played out in some of Nigeria's mega churches and I am tired of it.

Your friend is working for the Lord

He is sowing seed into God`s kingdom, and will reap later.

Like you said, the pastor is investing in the church, which is God`s house.

He will reap the gains one day.
If this is not a joke , the writer's mind should be examined whether it is stable . Can a man be working for God while human being under him suffer daily .

I'm not sure that you have a consience . Pastors are human? Which human being have license to behave badly and inconsiderate not to talk of pastors . If that's your stand , let us know what they have learnt from reading their Bibles . Are they not suppose to be examples to others ? Such behavior is not a mistake , it is wickedness .

I Don't like it when we associate crime or bad behaviors to positions or ethnic groups or gender .. there are also good pastors around too , yours might just be an outlier . I still don't support what the CEO/MD did to you .

Op said you should share your experience, good or bad. He/she never said you should blackmail pastor. Don’t get it twisted!

It’s very unfortunate that most Nigerian pastors that has companies are running their companies like gods. 3 out of 5 pastors don’t usually treat their workers well.

A friend who works in a telecom servicing company owned by a G.O of a church in Lagos has had his life stagnated because the pastor has refused to pay them going to 4months now. The worst part is that he doesn’t deem it fit to explain to them why he can’t pay.
Can you believe that a man with 3 kids would trek kilometers to work and can’t even feed his children while the GM & MD (Both of them are pastors o!) keeps buying expensive cars and building his gigantic church?

He just recently laid the foundation for his school meanwhile he owes his workers salaries going to 4months by the end of may.

So, what’s your experience? Is it good or bad?
Your friend is he tried with a rope or chain??

You sound like you are the pastor!
I doubt, if that man is a pastor because their is no scriptural backing for not paying his worker, it's devilish, wickedness from the pit of hell.
The workers, if they have been working as the claim let them confront the pastor and ask for their salary. I see no reason why you tied down yourself in a place when you actually be useful in other place.
If the employment thing is not working learn something that can make life meaningful to you.

The so called Pastor and his fellow Pastor are not Pastors. They must be fake Pastors. They are not even qualified to wear that name in the first place. Pastors don't treat their employees in such manner!

Working for a pastor is the best thing than can Happen to anyone, even if they don't pay you, God will remember your labour and sacrifice to his servant and still bless you. But if you complain or bad mouth him, then your life will be miserable. This I have seen.

Another one from a FalseProphet.

God doesn't work that way or say you should mistreat your workers.

don't you think it's that debt owing part that's paining the op? How will you say the op is jealous for a business man not paying his workers for 4months yet he's erecting a building? Who will be happy with such?
So if I'm owing you say 100k and I went to buy tear rubber Mercedes, then I tell you not to be jealous or angry cos I bought a car while still not paying you. How will you feel?

Put yourself in the worker's shoes then see how wicked and hypocritical your words are.

Tbh, I hate it when people say "pastors are humans" just to justify their wicked acts.
How many humans, will anyone of you meet to pray for you, your family or your financial situation? How many humans will you gladly take your tithe too, seek marital advice or seek the face of God from?

That tells you the kind of responsibility this pastor have and how they ought to live their life different from the way an average human do live theirs. We all ignore this but will be the first to talk about how pastors are humans and bla bla bla!
If any pastor(s) know they can't take up the mantle of righteousness or strive to be one, please and please, let them step down so that we'll know where they are abeg.

All these hypocritical talk is disgusting!!

you cancelled it out yet you attacked the worker for feeling jealous. You think that's "feeling the pain" of the worker?

No worker will feel jealous if an employer pays them as at when due, then build mansions and mansion. The anger of the worker is not the building erected, but erecting the building while not paying them. It smacks of disrespect and wickedness.

You attacking the worker while neglecting the situation why he's angry is why you're having all these backlash you're receiving. In simple terms, you shouldn't have, if you really felt his pain.

My friend work at an Eatery in Oshogbo, own by a Pastor, who also own a mini Pharmacy outlet. He complained how the man do pay salary's towards ending of the next month.

And Staff do buy food they eat there which must be once in a day.

The man don't like to be questions on his wrong
unhuman policies.

But is found of using Togolese to work, just to exploit them anyway

The funny part.

He said the man like boasting his super power spiritual making some workers to be afraid if they leave the work they may suffer.

There are two angles to this post and I don't understand either.
One is why your friend has not stopped working there. Salary being owed and the person continued staying on the job is because the person hopes or expects a big payday in the future. Your friend's continued slavery is stopping him from getting other opportunities.
2ndly, you and a lot of Nigerians needs to stop seeing thing from a religious lens. The MD owing salary has nothing to do with his pastoring. He is owing because he is an insensitive person, if indeed all the cars and church building angle is true. If he wasn't a pastor, he will still owe. He isn't owing because he's a pastor.

Don't spin the story to win sympathy. What is the company into? Are they making money to cover all expenses? Can't he asks the CEO why they aren't being paid, if the books are in green?

Asking for other peoples experience would not solve your friends troubles, which points to the entire story being HS.

Ask your friend to provide the church name. The name of the company. All these "confidential sources" story are always Ine kind. Let people help ask the CEO online and directly why salary isn't paid for 4 months.

I sight you operations manager.

You keep digressing from the main point . The pastor wronged this man either you like it or not . Until when we learn to keep religion and sentiment away from our common sense it’s always gonna be a problem. I’m not disputing the fact that nobody’s holy, but the matter at hand right now is that of the pastor .
