They are bank staffs. Infact they check your account balance before they give out your details.

One sent 100k to my acct 2018.
They first blocked my ATM card before the transfer..
I was sent a notification that my ATM has been disabled.

Buh i choose to ignor the text.
Hours later i received a credit alert of 100k on a raining afternoon.

Immediately i got the credit alrt, i quickly move the moni to my UBA acct using my first monie mobile app.

They had no choice than to call my phone with threats buh i ignored them and go straight my my bank.

your story is incomplete! finish it please, so what happened to the money?

to be honest with you i dont think its bank workers. i say this because it happened to me like 3 weeks ago. so i have this zenith bank account that i have pretty much just abandoned. i only use it to receive money from people and immediately i will take it out. so its always empty. the day the guy called i had just 30 naira in that account. so the guy called me and said i needed to connect my BVN with my account. i knew it was a scam so before he even went further, i said ' i think i have connected it ooo but anyway i dont even use the account that much again. i only have 30 naira inside it ' . when i said that i could literally feel the air rush out of the guys lungs in disappointment. he sounded defeated and depressed. but he still tried to compose himself but he just quickly exited after that. and so why i say i dont think its an inside job is because if it was an inside job the guy would know this is a useless account with only 30 naira in it and they wouldnt bother with the account. the inside man knows the account with the money and would only give that one out. you get ?

They are wasting their time, even NIN I no get sef, na IMEI I go come give them?

Bunch of jokers

You don't need to give them your IMEI. They already have it with your network provider (carrier). If you want to know, just download your carrier's app and you will see all your details including the phone your sim card is in. All they need do is get your info from the network provider.

This is another way in which Scammer get your details.

Once you use the ATM and you print receipt of your transaction, don't trash this in the bin beside the ATM. Take it along and there this into pieces.

Scammer pay cleaners to get this trashed receipt and use it to get your bank details, while they are eventually stock at the end and needed your input to complete the transaction.

So, always trash your reciept from POS, and ATM

We will not fall their hand in Jesus name

A bank staff was among those trying to rob his bank at Mpappe Abuja, if this is possible then other crimes involving bank staff both present and former are possible.

Seriously , even at super markets or Grossery stores I use to leave receipts behind or trash it in Thier trash can. This is an eye opener.

Exactly....

That's why I just shake head with the way the banks management are handling outsourced staffs particularly those working at the customer service department.

A brother out of shame is dying in silence after being duped by some fraudsters. They posed as a relative and duped him. He paid almost half a million to 4 account numbers they gave him. The four account numbers are all individual account and all their GSM numbers are out of reach now. Please learned colleagues help me to help him. How can one start a case like that? The deed has been done and it is now over a month. What is the right approach? Please I need a plurality of opinion from those that can help. You can save a soul

Get a police report and go to the bank.

Here is another scammer using his company to scam people. If he can see this, let him know that he will ALWAYS keep running, for the day he stops, I will be waiting for him.

Here is the LinkedIn page for the company. https://www.linkedin.com/in/gadease-technologies-06b767164/?originalSubdomain=ng

It turns out he has been doing the same to alot of people. He normally chooses those who know and trust him to scam.

He has scammed a lot of his close friend in FUTA and Akure.

And after scamming, he would keep in touch and speak gently apologizing for delay but it is a lie.

Here are his details:

Full name - Ebenezer Ojo
Aliases - Code
Graduated from Federal University of Technology Akure.

Phone numbers- 09153419127
His other number-07038718924

His last known location is Port Harcourt. But he also stays at Lagos.

His LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ebenezer-ojo-914b67164/

The company name he uses to scam people is Gadease Technology. He uses the company's bank account to remove any suspicion.

He has done it to a lot of people but they all kept quiet instead of exposing him. He does it to his friends and those he meets at conferences.

Please any help I can get on this matter would be appreciated.

Also I posting this so other people would not fall prey.

@lalasticlala please help put this out to save other people.

So I was sleeping on my own jejely this morning when a call woke me up from a number ‪09135806427‬, the man behind the line said he was calling me from my bank, Access Bank, and asked if I received a text from the bank asking me to upgrade my date of birth on the BVN, I was surprised but I said no, so he said I was asked to go update it from my bank or my account will be blocked and as it is now, my account is inactive until I reactivate it. For a moment, I thought it was true, since I did my BVN a long time ago, the staff there made an error in my year of birth, subtracting a year from it, and it affected me for sometime until I rectified it 3 years ago, so I listened carefully, the man gave me the 2 day, month, and year of births that was linked to my account (both the old and updated), asking me which was the correct one, and since I know they can't do anything with my date of birth, I told him the correct one.

He was speaking in a very professional tone with very good accents and all, he apologized for the error and I said he should not worry, now here is what I was waiting for, asking for details of my card, he said I should check my ATM card and I will see some numbers, he called the correct first and last 4 digits of my card, and asked me to provide the rest as that was my confirmation digit, that was when I smiled and knew this guy was an idiot. So I took the 2 other ATM cards of my Sterling and Wema Bank, and started mixing up the digits, I will pick 2 from sterling and 2 from Wema and called them out to him, while at the same time, retaining the numbers he got correctly already, the man was confused as I could hear from my end that he was on a PC as he typed and typed but the numbers were not correct, he asked me to call it over and over again, and I still called out the same numbers to him, so he did not understand what was going on until he got tired and switched to pidgin after spending about 18 minutes on phone, he started saying that I was trying to play with him and he was only helping out, and my account will be blocked, so I said, is a bank staff supposed to be speaking in that manner, or even pidgin at all while on official duty? He apologized and asked me to call it again, I called same numbers to him, but as I could hear his frustration from my end, I was seriously trying to holdout the laughter but couldn't, that was when I burst out and started laughing, and the idiot knew that this was no "white man, " switched back to pidgin and started insults, and trust me, I returned them immediately, pressed down, shaking together and running over.

But this leads me to the question, this guy knew very private details about my account, something that no one else knows apart from my bank, so I ask, HOW DO THESE SCAMMERS GET OUR DETAILS?

This man called my exact old house address, does that mean if I were to be assassinated and I still stayed in the old house, getting my details for the operation will be that easy?

it is a pressing question that really requires answers.

This can't just be swept under the carpet every time, questions needs to be asked.

For the initial card numbers, they can get it from POS print out.

I took 2 of my younger ones to one FcMB in my area to open an account and after two days someone called asking if we received any messages that the account is ready and started asking about bvn and I was shocked because before they registered their account with those numbers no one has ever call but why now that they just opened an account then I realised that there are scammers among them

Bank staff.
So I went to my bank for app login complaints. The app was updated and the old login details didn't work. Customer care guy asked for my details (guess he quickly checked my account balance with over 3m). Right there, I saw I had a new view on LinkedIn. Same guy attending to me

The only way out is this, let him go to any Court and show them the transaction details and they will collect some money from him for their service and they will issue him a court order which he will take to the various banks and those banks are going to work on it Immediately and as soon as they finish their investigation, the next thing is for him to get his alart. But if the scammer does not have money in his account that will delay his alart, though this can take time sometimes but he will definitely get his money back, thanks.

Nigeria would work if people like you help to make it work.
Violence, ethnic rivalry or fraud would not make it work. Only discipline and unity of purpose can make it work.

Guy forget that thing. This is different from lead generation.

This thing has never happened to me until the day I opened a new account, I received a call the next day after account was opened.

dake40:
There is something called "Lead generation"

To generate a lead means to get ones info like email, phone, name etc for marketing purposes

People ignorantly drop emails and contacts without knowing the implications. Yes, its just phone number, but there are people who scrape and sell leads. For example, someone create a thread, asking people to drop number for something, maybe sure bet odds. You might not know you are selling out your lead [info], lead generator will scrape it for further cold mailing or sell your lead to companies that need them, yes. You heard that right, some companies pay for it.

Some apps, bank staffs sell leads too..

This is very bad
