What about the children that ran away from home without their parents knowing their whereabouts, joined bad gangs, joined cults; well their parents still be punished for that?

If the Bible stopped children from being punished for their father's sins, and vice versa, why would a sitting Governor think this should be reversed again?

How many times have you reward parents for positive action of their kids?
I've seen cases whereby this same children use cutlass, knife and other arms on their parents or siblings, what should the parents do.
There is a situation I heard of, the child is not staying with them, whenever he comes around, father and mother go talk sey dem dey travel, pack heavy loads to appear the traveling is real and they leave the house just to avoid the child palava, should such parents report such child to the police that will release him after some days?
I've seen a soldier release a cultist that stabbed someone (skull) almost to death, after everyone left with the hope that he has called the police to come pick him up, the soldier release him, later, rumours had it that he was befriending the guys mum.

I am not sure of your statistics but the law is indirectly saying report your child if you know or suspect them to be with friends you are not comfortable with or engaging in unexplained lifestyles. Don't wait for us to catch them, because if we do, you will be considered as accomplice and be punished for it.

You will agree with me that majority of the parents of these cultists, yahoo boys/girls, etc are either fully aware or correctly suspicious of their child's involvement in such crime. Many, most times, must have gotten reports from family and friends on their children criminality and bad associations.

Hence, the law is justified logically, religiously and morally.

You don't know the meaning of good parental upbringing. No matter what you are,it is the fault of your parents

Your personality/behaviour is determined by two factors, environment and genetics.
Parents provide both environment and genetics for you. Training a child goes beyond telling the child what to do and what not to do, it goes beyond disciplining a child.
Have you seen people coming back to Nigeria just because they want to raise thier children well? They are trying to train the child in the right environment, because it really matters in what a child becomes

Have you seen parents researching schools and the type of children going into the school? Thats trying to put the child in the right environment to grow

Genetics can also prone people to become a cultist, that has to do with what you inherited mentally from your parents. We often inherent emotions, the way we perceive the world etc.
We all have our default logic, that we inherited, that's why we have two twins, where one is extremely gentle and calm and the other a complete opposite, even though they are trained by thesame parents.
It is the duty of parents to be self aware of their mental health,so that they know what they will transfer their children, as well as study their childrens mentally, so they know how to best train them.
In Nigeria, what they think good parenting is, is shouting and screaming "don't join bad gangs', taking children to church, beating children, they do not care about the root causes of anti social behaviours, which many atoms deeper than what is seen on the surface. Sometimes,it's not because a child join bad gangs, that's why no matter how some children are told not to, they still do. Meanwhile,some will never join bad gangs even if no one tells them.

How many parents care if thier children has low self esteem?, low confidence, easily influenced etc

Parenting is WORk, but 90% of Nigerians see if as fun, and give birth like dogs.
If they start punishing parents, people will start understanding they have a job to do, and we will have many people that would lock up their sexual organs, so we can live in a saner climate
