They’ve killed my favorite stockist embarassed

——————————

A 51-year-old popular businessman, Maduabuchi Owuamanam, has been murdered by unknown gunmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.

It was gathered that Owuamanam, the CEO of Blessed Maduabuchi Nigeria Limited, was shot and stabbed to death by the assailants while driving in his bus along Mokola-Sango Road in Ibadan around 8pm on Saturday, May 29.

According to eyewitness, after shooting Owuamanam, the assailants stabbed him multiple times with a knife on the left side of his chest to make sure he did not survive.

A passerby, who saw the victim in a pool of blood was said to have alerted his workers. He was rushed to a hospital where he was later confirmed dead.

It was further gathered that a woman was in the bus with the victim when the attack happened but her whereabouts is unknown.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, said that investigation commenced immediately to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of Owuamanam.

Osifeso said that the incident was reported to the Police at about 22:10 hrs on Saturday by the wife of the deceased, Christiana.

“The deceased was allegedly attacked and eventually murdered by unknown assailants around a relaxation spot at Oremeji Mokola area of Ibadan. Investigations are in top gear to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act,” the PPRO stated.

He, however, called for calm among residents in the state, saying that the Police are already making progress with investigations.

Mr. Adedward did a good job for me. I came here on the property section and I came across some of his post on casement Windows. I decided to use him because his office is not far away from my site so it will save me transportation cost. So I contacted him and we negotiated, I paid him 70% upfront and he ensured he delivered before our agreed time. I even had to keep my windows in his workshop pending when the roofing will be completed after which he came to install them. Thank you Mr. Adedward.

Could it be business gone wrong or from competitors? That was a pure assassination. I read this story. The death must surely be business related. These traders could be mean and brutal when it comes to settling scores.

Maybe it’s time to go hang out in the USA for while. Nigeria seems hot at the moment.

Hello professionals in the house. I'm here to seek the advice of the professionals here concerning my family's new house project.

It's a four bedroom pent house.

Here are my questions;
1) what are the step by step stages of building the house from scratch to finishing?
2) is it adviceable to keep materials such as tiles, wc etc after fixing window and exit doors.
3) concrete or iron water tank, which is the best for a small family?
4) do we need to plaster the inside of the building before fixing pop and windows?
5) we are thinking of using roofing sheets to do the parapet instead of concrete. I hope that is a good idea.

Thanks in advance

Clears throat, let me get my 'Engineer' hat on grin

As a nairaland trained Engineer, below are my submissions.

1. Have you purchased the land yet? Let's assume you have. Because you need a land to build on.

1a) building plan: what are your plans/purpose for this house, commercial or private? Are you thinking of a duplex or a bungalow? Also funding, do you have money for this project sitting around somewhere or do you plan to gradually gradually generate the fund for this build?

Answers to this questions will guide you towards your approach and your priorities in the project.

2). I understand the question as should you fix doors and windows first before tiles and WC? To this my answer is yes. If you have the fund , you could do all at once but the pocket is on the tight side, I will secure the building first before any other thing.

3). Again, recall my submission on 1). If this is bungalow, I would say concrete because the laws of physics will work with you and water pressure will not be adversely affected.

4) plastering before POP, not necessarily but due to lack of professionalism by our artisans , they might make a mess of this so I will say yes. Plaster before POP.
Plaster before windows - not really, windows could go in before plastering.

5). Nothing wrong with that, If funds are on the tight side, that's a safe option. Oga Spyder880 have done multiple of projects like this. I would imagine his clients were bouncing off the ceiling with happiness.

Good luck!

Cheers!!

So it's Plastering before windows/doors?

Then doors before electricals /plumbing?

What if there is no power for the windows, can just burglaries be done first to secure the house with maybe temp doors if no money to get the main doors (Entrance doors)?

Except its subsidized, you can't even make gains by selling housing units for 5 million.

Ajimobi Estate in Alafara, Ibadan is selling for just 5 - 6million (three years back it was just 3.5million) but people aren't buying.

There's also a mental block somewhere concerning housing schemes. Yoruba will say "why buy a house that they can't bury you inside".

Besides most estates (like Ajorosun in Moniya) only have a 74 year lease on the land. The fear of what happens next, after 74 years, is also a fear factor.

Sell the land after 70years use the money and buy another one or share the money among your children, Then its a new agreement for the new owner, That is if the owners will live that long.

Before plastering, you need to do electrical pipping and plumbing pipping, especially for conduit, because some part of the walls will be breaks to lay the pipes for electrical and plumbing, during plastering this wall will cover and plaster

(Note that the electrical and plumbing is three stages, 1. pipping, 2. runnings, and 3. fittings, out of these three stages, all you need for plastering is pipping.

Runnings and fitting, will be after doors and windows install, so some people will not come and remove your wires on site or other fittings.

Window frames and door frames, burglaries (if not embedded with the windows) can be fix, dress by the plasterers before leaving the site, if windows and doors are not available during plastering, it can be fix and install later when the money is available.

Blessed months to friends here.

On the issue of right to claim or own empty buckets of paints between the painter or the client, as being discussed hitherto, I would like to add my bit to the ongoing robust discussion.

I would like to use the following scenarios.

For instance in a building project where the client has contracted the task of constructing his building to a main contractor who is to see to the procurement of materials and labour and subsequent construction, such an arrangement means that the contractor is responsible for possession of excess materials and leftovers that would arise during the construction process. Conversely, it also means that the contractor would be solely liable for any underestimated materials that would lead to shortages during construction especially in a fixed price contract. That is why a contractor is paid overheard and profit fro his trouble in procuring materials, labour, equipment and other necessary needs to execute the contractor. In other words, the contractor is compensated for the risks he is faced during execution of the contract. Also, the contractor is liable for badly executed job. In this arrangement, the contractor is in charge of procuring necessary tradesmen like mason, painter, carpenter, tiler etc.
Conclusively, the contractor is to be responsible for excess materials, leftovers, or shortages that can happen during the construction process.

On the other hand, the client might procure his materials himself and only engage the contractor on workmanship-based contract only. In this arrangement the client will be responsible for any excess materials, leftovers or even shortages in materials. Like the case in point involving the client and the painter, the client will own the right to claim the empty buckets of paints if the painter is contracted on a workmanship based contract only. That means the painter is not saddled with the troubles of buying the materials.

In summary, the method and conditions of engagement of a contractor, subcontractor or tradesmen either implicitly or explicitly defined should form the basis of decision on who should own the empty buckets of paints.

I so submit.

grin grin grin you call this a design hahahaha, even a tailor won't draw this hahahaha. My suggestion just give him my design and tell him to do just that one for u since baba juju done catvh u to a point u are taking anything he gives u. Don't use my design oh coz if u do, when approval time come and u need one with the title blocks and all mechanical with electrical u will pay more to get it, not to talk of when u will need the cad file. U posted my design and not a single critique. It takes a real quack to put a store just near the living room hahaha

Useless lobbies and unventilated dinning.
Kai. Didn't you ask for copies of his previous works b4 consulting him?
boss this man contacted me and i gave him a flawless design which he only paid 20k, could u believe this guy came online and said that I didn't guve him any drawings and he painted me a fraudster. Trust nairalanders now, they judge emotionally everyone was on his side called me names, this guy will end up using my drawing or he will pay another money to another architect and get the same design as mine. Its just a 3bedroom in a 15x30 there's not really much concepts to explore.
