But we all know that scoring high or low is not the major reason people go to the university or polytechnic. There's still one other guy that scored 140 but still went to one the best private university

It will need strong enforcement for implementation, especially, in the private sector.

To be honest, this is welcome development. Although, it’d be quite difficult to access how well it’s been received. I want to see how exactly they hope to enforce it in private companies or establishments.

Good laws deserve implementation.

This has nothing to do with private company. Private company recruit based on what you can offer and years of experience. In private company, you can see someone with OND being the HOD of someone with MSc. In my former place, my supervisor was HND holder while I have two MSc before I joined them. Though, I met him there, he was the one that interviewed me.

So you don't know that some people in this country are admitted into BSc with 80 just because of their state. When that person graduate, will you rate him higher than someone with 119 who decided to go through the polytechnics because they denied him admission into BSc because he is from a different state in the same country.
Same thing is done in Unity schools, you have 50, they will you admission because of your state, while someone with 9 is given the admission because of his state. So any legal route you take to graduate in order to get employment or learn skills, to earn a genuine living and take care of yourself and family shouldn't bother me. I will employ you once I find out that you can deliver on the job.

Ignorant is your problem. You don't write JAMB to be admitted into HND. You write JAMB to be admitted for ND program.

In engineering, We have Craftsman (SSCE), Technicians(Ond), Technologist (HND), Engineer(Bsc).

They should revise the curriculum of Polytechnics, then award them B.Tech.

Some morons don't know this.

In Library and Information Science (B.LIS) Librarians (HND) Library Officers. Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) would never accept the registration of HND to become CLN

US colleges and universities accept HND graduates directly for MSc programs. World Education Services (WES) is one of the organizations who evaluate Nigerian degrees for advanced degrees in the US. If you have completed 120 credit hours at a college in Nigeria, your credential is evaluated as equivalent to a US degree and you're accepted directly into a Master's program.

In many companies, employees from polytechnics perform far better than those from the universities. They work with more confidence, and with little or no supervisions on technical jobs. Graduates from universities are found to be fairly better when it comes to paper works. It’s rather very selfish to say the dichotomy shouldn’t be removed.

This remind of my days in Federal polytechnic Offa, During one of our Aluta in
2004, we marched enmass to the the Rector's office, Dr Razak Bello then, He came out and addressed us, having exhaust all our agenda, we requested that in his capacity, he should try to help us fight the Dichotomy between Bsc and HND, his reply was what led me to go to University. he says '' even at the entry level, Polytechnic requests for 4 O'level Credit while University requests for 5 O'level Credit '' since that day, i had already made up my mind for varsity education, which i eventually did.

This bill is long overdue and is a welcome development, Because of the scarcity of varsity admission which has been prompting most students to opt for Polytechnic education, all of us cannot go to University.

The bitter truth is that, the compliance level will be very low, though in Public Sector they will comply, but i can tell you ahead of time that in private sector, the discrimination continues, most especially the multinational companies, like Big 4, we have in accounting. the likes of PWC, KPMG, Ernest & Young and Delliotte.

both HND and BSc graduates are equivalent in the US and accepted for Master's degrees with no discrimination
