A bill in senate is addressing this job dichotomy between OND, HND/ BSC holders in the labour market. But you know UAR nau, good things never see the light of day. And because it is a bill that borders on Education, the Daura Cow (with a NEPA bill) will never give Presidential Assent.

Forget about your OND bros. Either you level up to a BSC or you leave schooling totally. It stopped being the key to success world over sef

Nigerian economy is dead. An economy that has nothing like summer jobs for secondary school graduads. Where summer jobs like working in eateries are people's full time jobs with various degrees.

I became an employee of labour with my OND certificate.

After my OND, I applied as an apprentice in a Computer Centre and master the use of the computer to carry out skills like MS-Word, Coral Draw, Online Admission Payment Processing, Mini-Importation, etc. That was how i started my life, the skills i learnt from that computer centre expose me to unlimited opportunities to date.

There is hope for you. Keep checking for Nestlé, Coca-Cola, 7 up, Olam, p&g technical programs. They used to clearly stated OND as requirement. Just check companies in Manufacturing sector and some in oil and gas industry. They can get you entry level. Banks also recruit OND as tellers and marketers.

If it’s a technical course,you have nothing to worry about..just make sure you graduate with a good grade..

Lots of hope bro.

Rule is to apply for what you have the skills and qualifications for.

Also, if you have the skills and qualifications, ensure you tailor your resume to match what the recruiter is looking for in a candidate.

Sadly to get to the recruiter, your resume has to pass the applicant tracking software called the ATS. If it doesn't pass the ATS, your resume won't get seen.
Also, many of us write CVs not résumé. Resume is the real deal now.

Hello Harlee, I can tell you with facts that there are a lot of jobs for OND right now, albeit that the pay may not be much.Know this too that OND is not a destination yet but still part of a journey...the mistake most people make once they start earning some money is forgetting that they need to get a HND or BSC to move further up, rather they become complacent and remain as OND graduates forever.
