There are 2 main avenues of running the business on a small scale which I’m going to mention here.

1. Bulk Breaking: This form of beer (drinks supply) business simply means you rent a shop in a busy area, the shop doesn’t have to be too big but spacious enough to contain at least 200 crates.

What you do is buy the drinks from a Distributor at a price called (Ex-Brewery) and resell at maximum of #200 gain per crate. E.g. Cost Price - Trophy - #2,000 & Selling Price - #2,200.

In this case, you don’t need too much logistical support as people will come and buy from you.

I can promise you that in no time you’ll get your customers if you are patient.

Please note, this business is not a “get rich quick” scheme but it can offer you a part to financial freedom if you’re disciplined and can guarantee you an income even in your 70s.

2. Vending: This basically requires using a Car, Keke or Bus to supply beer palour, lounge and even events.

The difference with the Bulkbreaking is that it requires physical strength and ability to drive. The advantage is that it offers you quick turnover and even with 10 customers you’re good to go!

Please don’t mind the pictures ooo, I’m a different person when the hustle enter body

And lastly, #500,000 is more than enough...

The last 2 images are details of my withdrawals (after expenses) from my PiggyVest Wallet.

Further enquires can be directed to 07064753126 (Whatsapp/Call). I’m usually available between 8am-11am and 5pm - 11pm as my afternoon are usually very hectic!
Am very grateful bro, am really interested in that no. 2. Please bro where are you staying

LOL, I know someone will ask this.

Anyway, I will drop only hint but I won't be going deep like I want to.

OP, this is for you.

Start food stuff business like crayfish, garri, maize, rice, beans etc.

If you can get them in bags, it will be better.

Arrange them at the back of your boot.
Look for a parkable space in a quite big market around you.
Go there in the evening, open your boot and sell from there.

Make your price affordable, trust me once people know you with it, you're made.

Note: This kind of business will still allow you to do your normal hustling during the day unless you want to make it full time by going to different markets.

You have to run a research on markets/areas where you can get them cheap.

I'm not into the biz, so you don't expect me to know. Even if I want to enter the biz, I will have to make enquiry on where to get it cheap.

Someone asked here on Nairaland about a business he could invest around #700k on.

Here is the thread : https://www.nairaland.com/6217467/total-700k-invest-into-business

As one of the contributors on that thread, I explained how I started my frozen food business.

Here is the analysis should you be interested too.

In my opinion, if you have not tried a business before, you may need to test your feet in a low risk business before drowning the whole cash.

While starting off in 2017, I ventured into FROZEN FOODS.

Here is the breakdown:

1. UK used deep freezer with follow come compressor double door(cos I have knowledge of refrigeration, so I got it at Lawanson, Ijesha Road Lagos) @#105k
2. Transport to my shop @5k
3. Shop rent with all comission paid @ 150k
4. Frozen scale @3k
5. Cutlass and handglove @2k
6.Cutting stool and other furniture @8k
7. Stationery for book keeping etc.@1k
8. Carton of Kote fish @6.5k
9. Half carton of Titus fish @8k
10.Half carton of Sawa fish @5k
11.Carton of 3-5 hake fish @7k
12. Full carton of Turkey @14k
13. Full carton of Chicken laps @11k
14 Full carton of chicken wings @13k
15. Logistics @1k
16. Gen set (I have regular power in my area but in case)@ 75k
17. Shop renovations including wiring, painting etc. #20k

Total:#434,500
Though as things are now costly at present, budget #500,000

Reach me if you are interested for other information regarding this.

I will also add the second business this first one gave birth to here...

Note this important info
When I began in 2017, I didn't know a jack about the business. Fear of failure crowded my mind but I learnt from a church member doing the business(fulcrum of succeeding is to be mentored).

I also ask around from other sellers how they fix their prices, get their supplies etc (secret of succeeding part2)

Today, I have my 9-5 job yet have someone there who manage it (you can't be cheated in what you know too). I balance my account daily after returning from work (book keeping is a way to track your success).

Throughout the lockdown till this moment, people never stopped buying even when I'm at home, they keep calling, I do online delivery too for them. They make transfer, once I get it, I send my logistic guy to deliver to their doorstep ( advantage of integrating tech to your business)

Lastly, the business is expanding as I have added other things like, groundnut oil in gallons, palm oil in gallons, seasoning ingredient in packs, semovita, wheat, rice in bags etc as they complement the biz( search for complementors when the biz is growing, hear feedbacks from customers as they are pointers to your next level)

Again, do you consider the area in which OP stays?
Lastly, you don't enter business because others are doing it.

When you said aquarium, some ideas came to mind. Although you were talking about the decoration type but what I am thinking of now is the indoor aquarium with bigger fishes where people pay money to visit. I don’t think they have those in Nigeria.
I know it’s going to cost a lot more to build but I believe people will like it.
I thought about this as well but it’s going to cost massive money.

I have done that already, I said buying food stuffs in bulk from local market and selling in city markets.

If you have a car, you can use your car as a shop by loading the stuffs in the boot and back seats.
Just look for a parking space by the entrance of the market and open your boot, business don set.

I made this suggestion because the OP has a car already and it can also give him time to do other business if he wants.
