A friend narrated this scam that was used on them and i thought to share.

A well-spoken elderly lady came to withdraw 85,000 naira. The amount was typed into the terminal and given to her to enter her PIN. She acted like she was adjusting her glasses and moved a distance to enter her PIN due to what the operator thought was too much sun glare.

Unknowingly, the lady cleared the amount entered initially , changed it to 8,500 naira, entered her PIN and returned the terminal. The POS operator did not look at the receipt and gave the woman 85,000 naira.

A lot of scammers see POS operators as easy targets for scams which is really terrible considering the slim profit margins. A scam like the above one can wipe out 2 months profit!

I still recall when I got robbed at gun point by 5 guys inside my car they took my atm card asked for my pin , then one visited the nearest pos and withdrew 150k from my account , well I just kept mute and drove of after the incident, my question is what if pursued the case , won’t the pos operator be in trouble?

I'm not sure this is right
But

I had a quickie with my Sales rep
The most satisfying quickie I ever had in my life

Even the notable one I had with Beyonce (off course, before Jay Z got hitched with her
Never came close

Her massive bulge out
Pantie line quite visible
My Weak point, I must confess

Pinned her down on all fours

Drew her lace pantie
Down to knee level

Her swollen labia
Jutted out in-between her thighs
Quite a sight

I planted my 28 inch Co*ck in to her wet sweet hole

She let out a loud moan

How much bang for the buck did I got from it
I doubled her wage for the next five months
But it was worth it

POS nice business though,

what does this mean?

What he's trying to say is that the POS operator was surreptitiously recording the number and other details on his ATM card so he can use it to fraudulently withdraw money from his account later

As the owner, sales rep or just helping out.
Share the good, the bad, ugly side of working as a pos agent.

The good
Making great friends and acquaintances. connecting to a greater scale if you know your onions.

I've heard of people who met their partners while working as a pos agent.

the bad
Debts and more debt
You'll see one old man/woman even young peeps will just come and be doing oju anu to please borrow them the smallest amount that they'll pay back, after giving them, they'll stop patronising you and will even stop passing the route of your shop lol grin

the ugly
This one happened to me recently but I serve a living God.
The man came with a jeep highly dressed with an expensive bling, he said he wanted 50k I charged him 1k he said no prob but he's doing transfer.

Inside me I was happy cos that means more commission, oga finished doing the transfer said I should check. While he wait inside his ac motor cos that day was hot af, after 5min he came and asked if I had seen the money I said no, he said maybe its network that he'll wait.

Another 10mins money never drop my scam rader began blinking po po po po.
Oga said I should give him 20k to settle someone while he wait till the money drops, I said mba.

When he saw that I wasn't fazed neither was I moved with his appearance, he suggested to send the money again but if the first 50k entered I should send it back to him and I should manage 5k for being an omo daada, oga did the second transfer showed me his bank app, our company's name and truly it showed successful even the first transfer details that they've not refunded him, I even saw his account balance wey be like recharge card pin grin sibe sibe this madam wasn't fazed.

Oga came back asked me how far, I said none of the two transfer dropped that means no money, he just hissed and drove off. till now I no see any 50k.

Pos work no easy honestly, the bad outweigh the good it's just God that's protecting most of us.

Please share your experience let's learn from each other.

I have lost more than 160k to pos scammers as a vendor...
Nevertheless I thank God for everything

My advice for pos vendors be;

Don't use a church mind to run it. People do not really fear God to that extent. They'll kill it for you.

Don't give out cash if you've not received alert.

Let's say you receive a transaction alert now, always wait for 5-7mins before telling your customers that you've seen alert. (Customers wey do real transfer no dey rush, nah those ones wey show you fake alert go dey tell you how they're in a hurry, this/that)

Lastly, be very careful of people using OPay...If you've seen an OPAY fake alert, you may never be able to differentiate cuz it shows time and date. One good vendor I know was scammed with OPay fake alert and I was like damnn!

Somebody also said there's a way they'll initiate a real transfer on Opay but it won't send thru to vendors account. Not sure if true to not but you must be very careful of OPay users.

It's very lucrative and can change life in a year or so but you must be firm. Failed transactions with customers debited can be so frustrating. Again, don't get too close to ur customers as that will give them room to borrow money. They stop patronizing you as soon as they owe you money. Be sincere and assertive.

Any business you're doing in Nigeria that involves plenty of risk requires a high degree of assertiveness!

That was how my neighbor sister who just finished writing her waec fell a victim on d April 21, inside fasting fa.. 17 yrs old girl for that matter. The man dressed in army uniform and wanted to withdraw 100k.. He made a transfer n msg was sent to the girl but due to the fake army excess hesitation n unease attitude, the little girl was full of frightening n was unable to check if the money added to her acct balance. She gave d fake army 100k n he vamous. Not knowing it was fake alert. By d time she checked her alert, the money was not added to her acct balance. Her sister cry eeh n I pit d woman because she is just a primary sch teacher. People wicked gor this world oo..

Me I have cement in my new site area before, added POS and later add gas..
The business is turning to recharge card selling business, by December, every electric pole distance will have a vendor.

No bad experience, once you transfer and I can't confirm same on my mobile app only, no cash...I don't even verify with SMS.

After reading comments I just realised one guy was once in my office who showed me a fake alert of 40k, maybe he thought I was stupid that I won't check my own side before giving him. And as a smart guy, I don't even use alert to receive value, I only check transaction on my bank mobile app. This guy left and said he will come back(so this is the fake alert people do talk about!! Wow! Have never experience one before)

I'm in students area, just imagine borrowing a female student who was stranded to go school with just 500# and after two weeks the girl keep posting me till I tracked her to her lodge, come and see how I embarrassed her in her lodge that day ehn.

The profit trickles in, you cannot do the business if you are weak, spendthrift or a Mr Nice Guy. I suffered humiliation in my life due to financial distress the business, the business gave me some hope, I became independent, though not rich.
I fought with a customer, we literally drew blood. The business brings hate, envy and jealousy. It's risky, people think you are rich because you count money. But the truth is that if you have to succeed in the business, you may become a miser.
Family, friends, relatives may finish you with expectations.
There is the fear of robbery, loss or scam, which increases your heartbeat in a second.
