My goodness, even elders?

Enyimbamercedes:
A friend narrated this scam that was used on them and i thought to share.

A well-spoken elderly lady came to withdraw 85,000 naira. The amount was typed into the terminal and given to her to enter her PIN. She acted like she was adjusting her glasses and moved a distance to enter her PIN due to what the operator thought was too much sun glare.

Unknowingly, the lady cleared the amount entered initially , changed it to 8,500 naira, entered her PIN and returned the terminal. The POS operator did not look at the receipt and gave the woman 85,000 naira.

A lot of scammers see POS operators as easy targets for scams which is really terrible considering the slim profit margins. A scam like the above one can wipe out 2 months profit!

Which area did this happen? Is it common around there?
Let people know so that others wouldn't fall victim.

I still recall when I got robbed at gun point by 5 guys inside my car they took my atm card asked for my pin , then one visited the nearest pos and withdrew 150k from my account , well I just kept mute and drove of after the incident, my question is what if pursued the case , won’t the pos operator be in trouble?

Personally, I own eight branches b4 but now I manage only 6.
Let me first start from my bad experiences:
Wen I started,
My first ugly experience was wen a trailer driver that was supposed to give soldiers 20k came to make withdrawal; he was debited for a declined transaction.
He called the military guys that were supposed to collect the money. I tried to explain to them but my explanation felled on deaf .
The only thing I could do for them not to seize my POS and lock my shop was to pay them the 20k which I did.
The second ugly experience I had was transferring #250k to a wrong account number. What compounded my woes was that the money belonged to chairman of agberos at Alakija Lagos State.
He was the one that gave me space where I erected my container. He was preparing for his dad's burial, so he gave me the money to transfer to his sister. I didn't know the money was transferred to another of my customer's account.
I didn't know the customer bc I just started the business and didn't have any record book.
The dreaded chairman came to me that the sister was yet to see the money and I kept assuring him that it was network. Wen he came for the third time, I called the name for him and he was like: call the name again and I did he asked me who gave me that account number and name?
That was wen I knew that I was in for a big mess. He called his boys and told them what transpired and they all asked me to find his money and send to him.
To God be the glory, it was my GTB bank app that I used since the account was GTB I decided not to use opay.
I called GTB customer care line and they sent an indemnity form to my email address which I filled scanned and sent to them. They froze the account.
To cut the long story short, I borrowed money that night to settle the chairmoo. GTB contacted the owner of the account he said he didn't tell me to send money to his account and he wouldn't come to the bank. Wen they threatened him he gave us option of giving him 20/30% of the money b4 he would authorise them to return the money to me. Wen they further threatened him he went to the nearest branch and did the needful. I sha sent him 5k.
Thirdly, a guy came to my shop and told my attendant to transfer 65k and after he did , the guy gave him 6500. He asked him for the complete money and the customer said he told him 6500 and not 65000. To cut the long story short, the customer told him to follow him to his side which my guy did but the customer took him to cele church that that was where he lived, he told my guy that the money was sent to a girl in Ijebu ode, my guy called the lady the lady was very polite, she promised to return the balance he the money entered. For more than a year they refused to pick our calls. The customer told my guy to give him 5k transportation to go to Ijebu ode. Wen we wanted to arrest him we found out he wasn't living in that church.
Fourth bad experience was wen a man brought 85k to my female worker while I was away, she counted the money and told him it was 85k but the man said no, it was 89k my worker counted the money the second and third time and it was still 85k, the scammer made a call and told the person that the money was 85k that both him and my worker counted the money together. After the call he left and came back immediately and told my worker to transfer the 85k. He handed the girl the black nylon where the money was, and she foolishly dropped the money on the table and transferred the money. Wen the man left she opened the nylon and wat she saw was 100 notes just 15k.
My brothers in the Lord if I continued with the bad experience u won't like to open the business so lemme tell u the gud ones.
THE GOOD
I opened the business wit about 70k but today, I have a branch that was giving me at least 30k daily, some branches used to give me 20k, 15 and 10k depending on the location
CHALLENGES.
Remember me talking abt a branch giving me at least 30k right?.
That was then. Now, what I make in that my branch now is 15 to 20k because of competition.
So the major challenge is proliferation of the business. Competition has immensely affected the business.
TESTIMONY:
Just as the op stated, those men in the car that always wish to make transfer and show u app are mainly scammers.
They gave done it to my workers b4. One succeeded in scamming my worker 70k and I made sure she paid me the money bc she knew the rule and decided to do otherwise.
The other one didn't succeed.
Conclusively, the POS business is a very Iucrative business if u have a very good location and the cash.
Lastly, I give out Opay, KUDI AND MONIEPOINT POS.
MY NUMBER IS 07030763978

Try applying for an opay android pos
Their charges are 6% on any amount (withdrwal)
10 for deposit from 1k to 5k
20 for deposit from 5.1k to 10k
30 for deposit from 10.1k and above

And you still enjoy 25% cash back from all your commission daily

I tore the nylon that has our names and those long numbers with expiring date on my own card. The card is just plain and naked but I copied all those details to some book tucked in somewhere private.

I noticed that recently all these dirty cultists as aye and bagas will form they are fighting to rob people and their targets are pos vendors and pharmacies, they purposely shot one of my friends that owns a chemist store after asking the guy where he belongs and the guy told them he doesn't belong anywhere, they still shot him but thank God he survived.

Wow!!! Thank God for life.
God help us.
