I'm enjoying the stories as well

But on the other side.....I heard Yahoo boys have started opening Pos outlets for their babes so as to snap the details of Customers cards.

That's why I'm a bit skeptical about all these road side Pos agents

Hmm you're right, I suspected a guy is a yahoo yahoo doing it, police recently raided his shop may be on information.

People should be very careful how they gives out their account details.

I combine my POS business with phone repair which includes downloading of music and movies in my area. Boom my landlord at home called me that he is coming to withdraw 10k, I said okay. So this man came to my shop and I was not around so he called me to instruct my wife to give him 10k say later him go send give me, I said no and immediately called my wife not to give any money. He left angliey. Wetin concern me. That same day a friend called to borrow to 10k to pay later, I no gree. That one over. After 3 days during the sala break my landlady at the shop, she sell bear and pepper soup close to my shop. This woman begged me to borrow 10k that she don't know that banks will not open bla bla bla and I told her NO. Simple. She was more than shocked. But my woman have mistakenly founded someone's bet9ja account with 25000 instead of 2500, but To GOD be the glory that the customer later returned the balance after two days of fasting. Although I know the wife's shop. Some customer's will come and transfer 1000 instead of 10000, and say na mistake. I use union bank so I Verify any transfer on my App the. Use the money to fund my wallet immediately before payment. No Confirmation no payment for those doing Transfer. But Here in awka Zenith Bank has been my Headache I have to return their POS. All the failed transaction that was debited all were Zenith Bank Customer's especially every month end. Even on Sunday a customer friend called to borrow 20k and I quietly told him no. Stating that I don't enough capital for my POS business so any money I removed there will affect the business. This Excuse have saved me four times. Please ignore the cut and join English

I once made a transfer of N100,000 to a customer using a POS. It appeared to have failed so I did another one. Fast forward to balancing my account at the end of the day, account "no gree" balance with huge difference. I checked and discovered two successful transfers of N100,000 to the same account. Following morning, I located the customer who came to make the transfer and the beneficiary was contacted. The beneficiary bluntly denied he had two N100,000 transfers in his account. We appealed to him to go to his bank to confirm the second transfer. Third day came, he claimed to have gone to his bank and insisted he has just one transfer of the transfers. Consequently, I then used my contact in his bank to check his account and behold it was confirmed he had the two N100,000 transfers in his account. With this information, we confronted him headlong and within 30 minutes "ogbeni" wired N100,000 back into my account. POS business, "plenty profit, plenty risk!".

Lagos is your best bet to make some bucks driving on Uber/taxify platform, and also, one of the worst place to drive in terms of insecurity & traffic wardens ( Lastma /CBD boys) extortion.

Pardon me for being inquisitive. Did you make the Corolla money from the POS business?

My advice for pos vendors be;

Don't use a church mind to run it. People do not really fear God to that extent. They'll kill it for you.

Don't give out cash if you've not received alert.

Let's say you receive a transaction alert now, always wait for 5-7mins before telling your customers that you've seen alert. (Customers wey do real transfer no dey rush, nah those ones wey show you fake alert go dey tell you how they're in a hurry, this/that)

Lastly, be very careful of people using OPay...If you've seen an OPAY fake alert, you may never be able to differentiate cuz it shows time and date. One good vendor I know was scammed with OPay fake alert and I was like damnn!

Somebody also said there's a way they'll initiate a real transfer on Opay but it won't send thru to vendors account. Not sure if true to not but you must be very careful of OPay users.
I am about starting one now and had Opay in mind, which then would you recommend? How can you advice I proceed?

Download the app on playstore and speak to their customer agent from there.

When they give you the pos, your total transactions reflect on their server that's how they monitor your account activities for the 3 months duration
God bless you for responding

But sir, which of opay App? The normal opay app or opay business app or opay agent app?

After reading comments I just realised one guy was once in my office who showed me a fake alert of 40k, maybe he thought I was stupid that I won't check my own side before giving him. And as a smart guy, I don't even use alert to receive value, I only check transaction on my bank mobile app. This guy left and said he will come back(so this is the fake alert people do talk about!! Wow! Have never experience one before)

I'm in students area, just imagine borrowing a female student who was stranded to go school with just 500# and after two weeks the girl keep posting me till I tracked her to her lodge, come and see how I embarrassed her in her lodge that day ehn.

I'm not a vendor but that business scares me. First, there's the risk of getting robbed, then there's the risk of all these chinese devices logging people's data.

In fact, almost all the POS joints in my area are owned by yahoo boys. Like this, i dey spend 3 hundred go bank go collect money instead of taking the risk of having my card details stolen by some low life yahoo boy disguising as a POS agent.

Even when i use POS, i usually prefer transfer instead of using my card.

Can be seen when zoom. Once it tore completely as you claim, the card is gone . I know this cos I have once tore some part,to prevent it from tearing apart . And it didn't work again with any atm machine .

Morning guys eku ojo

Location
If you're planning on opening a pos shop, location matters a lot in terms of sales but like everything on this earth it has it's own disadvantage.

* i won't advice you open your pos shop in your vicinity, because of familiarity with neighbours and friends. These are the people that kills the business due to 'abeg borrow me I'll pay you back'.

* people who don't know you can't not do you anything, especially if they don't know your background or anything about you.

* when you get to a new area, avoid over familiarity with your fellow shop owners. Good morning, good night should be enough.

* avoid those 'sport pundits' and political analyst'. these are the ones that come to your shop to case you and also give out information.

avoid monetary gift
There's this customer let me call her iya meta, iya meta is always fond of giving me money when she comes to withdraw, like 200h sometimes 5h until one day she came to borrow 10k from me that she's in need of it and her bank network was giving her issues promised to send it that evening, two days pass I no see money I no see Iya meta and I don't know her house but like God will have it I collected her number from someone that's was how I called her and she was like hey I've forgotten oo mabinu ma ba e mu wa leni, leni turn to 2wks this woman was like I'm an ungrateful girl disturbing her cos of ordinary 10k made this matter a very big problem to the extent my boss became aware of it. Las las she pay the money sha but it took a lot of wahala before she paid it.

Be Prayerful
If you know you don't have any baba, alfa or prophet doing underground work for you please make sure your knees and mouth does not stop calling on the almighty to be there for you always.

This one happened to a pos neighbour opposite our shop directly.
That day I came to shop, normally I sweep, mop, dust before praying cos I don't like calling my God in a dirty environment. But this particular day something had happened at home so i was in a prayer mood, I got to work and started praying, while praying a customer came but I can't keep my God on hold because of 100h profit I kept praying the Rosary my neighbours were like Iya lagbaja o customer is waiting i didnt answer, the customer left and went to my neighbour to withdraw.

After like an hour or less the guy ran to my shop sweating and was asking me if I knew the person that came to my shop that morning I was like no and he started crying that the pos he did for him was declined but he gave him 37k and he didn't know how he missed it cos he usually check to see if it approve or declined.

I can tell you with my chest that he used ise to confuse that guy that day but since then I've not stop praying to God to always confuse and destabilize any oloriburuku that want to use ise to collect money from me

It's free but there's a clause.
You will put a down payment of 20k but your pos must run 2m(both withdrawal a d deposit) within 3months. or they'll come for their pos and return your 20k to you if it doesn't have any damage.
can I contact you directly want to start off the biz pls
