Rejection emails are part of job hunting experiences, and receiving them after putting in so much (or not so much) effort can be daunting, but it shows you are making an effort; Dont give up! You just might be one application away from your dream job.

How did you handle yours?

Okobioko!!!

My email get folder with over 1000 rejection emails e no dey phase me... The ones I'm most concerned about are the non-automated responses from actual hiring managers some of which may contain tips as to why I did not get the role or position.

Rejection will always come, just no too dwell on am; keep pivoting and keep applying.

Job rejection emails are never easy to handle especially when you've placed high hopes in getting the job after doing you best during the interview stages.

During my days as a fresh graduate, i sent countless number of application emails and the rejections were not funny but it was also a form of challenge to me, which made me dump the email idea and hit the streets of Lagos to start visiting every Insurance companies and Banks to submit my CV and cover letter enclosed together in an envelope. i did this for good 2weeks straight and trekked every part of Lagos after searching on Google for the companies i am interested in. It wasn't an easy task but it was worth it for me, because at the end of the day i was called for several interviews and 5 different companies offered me job at the end that i was even selecting the best offer for myself out of them all.

So my advice to every jobseeker out there is: Don't feel broken with every rejection email you receive, rather, keep up the fighting spirit and try out new ways and different approach in your job hunt instead. Let's also not forget to ask God for grace and direction which is very important.

By never applying for a job in the first place, but creating my own job.

Extra tip:

What about how I handled being rejected by women?

I handled it by never proposing or asking her to date me, but by assuming the position of a boyfriend and everything flows naturally without a single word.

At the end, she'll be the one asking, "What are we?" You can now tell her, "We are pencils in the eyes of thy Lord."

So, the solution to avoid rejection in both job and dating is to create your own job and never ask anyone out.

You asked one question, but I gave you two answers, so you have to pay me for that.

I did apply to lots of openings so a "NO" coming from some of them means nothing to me. I sometimes acknowledge their 'no' response and thank them for making out time to read through my application.
I used to do this because many of the employers do not even respond to the application, making applicants to keep hoping.

I just tell myself that we move, and continue applying.

The one paining me now is that, since I went for services, I have been applying for jobs, got called for interview, but bcus I am faraway from Lagos, I just can't attend. I just can't wait for this services year to end self.

I must admit that it's one of the most difficult challenges one faces, including myself.

The rejection mail I found extremely hard to deal with was a remote position for a Copenhagen-based company.

I passed two stages and lost out at the final stage. That job was going to pay well. I could not deal with it for weeks.

But then, I had to encourage myself to move on and keep getting better because opportunities will always present themselves.

I wish people will see the potential and freedom in being independent. It breaks my heart everyday to see people being slave to unemployment and job hunting.

I was a broke a** until 2016 when I learnt freelancing right on this very platform. I quit my job ending of 2016 and pursued freelancing full time after learning video animation and editing on youtube for free. I have been my own boss ever since, earning an average of 10x my previous salary monthly.

Rather than job hunt, learn a skill and make money to start a business, and gain financial freedom. Let the future you be proud of today's you.

Affiliate marketing, freelancing, drop shipping and the lots can make you a millionaire within a short period of time if you are willing to put the work and learn the skill.

What's more, you can learn all this for free on youtube

How did you handle yours?

I deleted and moved on.

As I got more mature, I decided to start sending thank you emails to rejection emails.

I did that for the last rejection email I got, even though that was the most painful one yet.

That job for change my story.

Entrepreneurs no go understand.

I focus on other things that are of importance to me. My rejection email since I passed out from NYSC should be up to 300

The highest rejection mails received were between 2009 to 2012 while in UK as a masters student applying for jobs in UK. Professional jobs were many but I was getting rejection up and down till I borrowed myself sense and started applying for care giver job, security and farm worker. That was when I got called to start a care giver job and that was the only job I did in UK. Rejection emails for professional jobs and internship I applied should be up to 200 then.

Not having the permanent right to work in UK was also a contributory factor while companies rejected me left, right, up and down grin

Rejection mails are never an easy thing to deal with. I recently spent 60k on accommodation and logistics for a job interview with 7 figures monthly remuneration. I made it past two stages but was dropped at the third. It was gut wrenching. Took about a week to get it out my system.

Rejection mails come a dime a dozen.

Personally, I am very critical of myself as I hold myself to very high standards. You can only imagine what such does to one's mental health.

I was rejected by the following firms;

BAT X 2
KPMG
PWC
Access Bank X 2
Fidelity Bank
SIAO Partners

These are the ones i can remember because i was so sure i was gonna get the job.

But my career kicked off once i got the first offer letter. it has been a wonderful and eventful journey ever since.

These days i also issue out rejection letters to some firms when i hear how much the salary is.

We move!!!
