Hello all.
This is such a fantastic thread, I have gone through a lot of pages and I commend the effort the thread initiator and all those helping.

I need some clarifications. I want to apply for a long term study visa and I checked the requirements of DFA website. However, I noticed some contradictions. On the website, nothing was mentioned about writing a personal statement, the only thing mentioned was writing an application letter including reason for wanting to come to Ireland, contrary to what I have been seeing. Another thing is they did not ask for why are you studying this course and other similar questions.

Can someone clarify please. Thank you
Hello mate, to the best of my knowledge, personal statement is for admission purpose. Which is to be submitted to the school when applying for admission.

While application letter is that which you submit alongside other forms and documents during visa application. In your visa application letter, you will give a brief overview of your background, reason for the course, what you have done previously that qualifies you for the course, why you have chosen Ireland; as well as what you intend to do after your studies. Many of the things in personal statement and visa application letter are similar. Just that receiving institution differs.

I hope this helps answer your queries. Cheers.

Greetings everyone good to be here……please I would be needing assistance/ options and opinions on affordable schools in Ireland as I am a beginner here… not as conversant as I am with the USA/ Canadian process….

While I also do my homework in searching for schools, I also need experienced people here to please contribute if you know of any affordable university in Ireland for undergraduate studies that accepts WAEC..
I am trying to help my kid bro get into one
Looking forward to responses

Well in Europe generally
Public universities are the best
All over Europe from Spain to Russia
If you are a citizen of any European countries and you go to private university then your parent runs a certificate for you.
It’s simple

Please take this as an individual opinion it doesn't apply to opinion of most Employers and organisation.

Says who
Please try to submit your certificate as a BSc holder that just graduated from a private university in Ireland and as an Irish citizen to HR and see what happens cool grin
Only those that study IT courses get the chance everywhere

NCI falls under this category and I am happy to inform you that 90% of my students who finished their studies here had employment offer before graduation . You can send me whatsapp message so I can send you their contacts to verify in Ireland.

Are they Irish citizens or EU citizens?
I was talking about if you are a EU citizen or Irish.
NCI is a public university or college.
Yes, it’s run like a private but NCI is public university and I got admitted there but DCU admission came out 2 days later
Reason I went to DCU
NCI was my first choice because it’s located in the city not too far from me.
NCI fall under SUSI grants, that’s a public college

I don't have time ; i actually just disputed your claims ; 1 being NCI is private.

Whatever your point is about private and public institutions in Ireland is a personal opinion like i said earlier. Everyone is free to contribute but lets be guided in stuff we put out.

Na woah
You claim to know about NCI and you don’t know that NCI is run like a private school? Lol
For example Ondo state college of Medicine is public school but run like a private
Any college or university in Ireland that all the undergrad courses are not paid by SUSI, is what will called run like a private school.
NCI is public College but run like a private school.
I can’t bet you haven’t been there before.
Go and read more about NCI.
NCI is 10 mins away from my home and I never said NCI was a private college.
I go to the building anytime I want to relax my head and I know almost all the offices over there due to getting informs for some of my friends.

Please before you jump in, check what we were discussing, I was only telling the guy the diff between public and Private universities in Ireland and that of Nigeria

Like how much is your budget?
Where is your school located?
D07 is somehow city centre.
TUD main campus is located in D07 and DCU is not too far.
My friends got accommodations through Facebook but please don’t pay any money oooh until you see the house and sign agreement papers.
The Agent the school provided for you can also link you up with other students, if you ask your agent.

They do scam people for Accommodation in Ireland oooh
Be careful

Do embassy require accommodation receipt during interview? I got admission in maynooth university(national university of Ireland Maynooth), but I need accommodation in Dublin 7, my budget is within 300-400€. What do you think about the University?
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by seunny4lif(m): 10:59am On Jun 22, 2021
Due to COVID matter
Since you get accommodations for school then no problem for the Visa matter but why do you want to rent in D07 when you can get accommodations in Maynooth.
Get accommodations around is Maynooth is better because you don’t have to pay for buses as your house will be within walking distance from the uni

Since you insist on being ignorant , NCI is a private school and its clearly stated on Education in Ireland's website.

You insisted that people who attend private schools may not get jobs and I disputed that based on outstanding records of my students who attended private colleges in Ireland and landed 33k to 40k pa jobs
