CKC Old Boys Association Commends Gov. Obiano's Stellar Performance In Governance

By Chukwudalu Ezimmadu

The Board of Trustees, BOT, and the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Old Boys Association Worldwide of Christ the King College, CKC, Onitsha has commended Governor Willie Obiano for his administration's giant strides in Anambra State especially for delivering the Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport, Umueri and other legacy projects of his government.

The two apex decision making bodies of the Old Boys Association made the commendation during their meeting in Awka, the Anambra State Capital where they met to deliberate on ways to continue to move the association and their alma mater forward.

Also in attendance at the meeting hosted by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and former Commissioner For Information and Culture, Anambra State, Chief Maja Umeh were chairmen of different state chapters.

In an opening remark, Chief Umeh extolled the excellent performance of the old boys of the school who at different times and positions have continued to project the school in good light.

Contributing, the Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu reiterated that the association provides a platform to promote brotherhood amongst the old boys of the college, stating that it was only right for the association as old boys of the college comes together always to rally round the college, provide moral and financial support where and when necessary to ensure that other young boys who go through the school enjoy the high standard of education which the college is known for.

The meeting also commended former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, the former Governor of Rivers State, Chief Peter Odili, the former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Peter Umeadi, the Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Chukwulobelu and the candidate of the People's Democratic party, PDP, in 2017 gubernatorial election, Mr Oseloka Obaze who are all alumni of the college for all their efforts in making their alma matre proud.

Enough of the stress and suffering..It’s high time Obiano ordered for the opening of the main access Zik Avenue road that has been blocked for two months now.
He needs to see what Anambra pple pass through everyday because that road is blocked. As if that isn’t enough the the OnitshaEnugu express way has a part of it blocked leading to serious gridlock down to Amawbia junction.
The permanent gridlock at EkeAwka still persists.Nothing has been done about it...from morning to night Eke awka axis is always in a serious gridlock ffs!

Willie Obiano should open up the blocked Zik Avenue road or better still give us a better alternative to commute to and fro. Enough of driving through bad bumpy untarred street routes.

Failure, failure, failure. Obiano only cares about the federal expressway where he can flyover to government house from Awkuzu junction and back to Aguleri.

The solutions for zik ave are very simple but needs a manly action:

1) Relocate Eke Awka by force to Agu Awka and turn it into city Hall or other low traffic use.

2) Remove parts of Afor Igwe, Oye Agu and other primitive markets interfering with Zik Ave

3) Relocate Gate of police station to side road opposite governors lodge and remove all blockages.

4) Relocate customary court, magistrate Court, awka South lga, ASUDEB to Ekwueme Square area.

5) phase out keke and shuttle from cities before we turn to India and replace with minimum 10 seater buses with entry exit passageway and fixed bus stops.

My brother I don tire o for these roads. The worse is that some pple will carry their Mmemme and block a part of the road using their cars..fgs! How can u be parking cars on a tiny busy road? This off behaviour and in exposure are contributory factors to d gridlocks we have in Awka.

If the roads are busy like this I wonder what will become of it in Dec.Maybe we will be using parachute to jump gridlocks.

Those markets u even mentioned aren’t as primitive as Ekeawka sef. There’s a big park for cars a oye agu and d area is a bit organised than d one at awka. The one at awka is a big embarrassment and shows govt’s inability to control that area.

Zik Avenue should be opened pls make we see road arrgghh angry

ICC with the most number of multi coloured aluminium sheets.
189 seater stadium.
I dare you to mention one project commissioned by your governor in the last 6months, just one..
Are you not ashamed of yourself and governor?

Please let's compare Anambra ICC to the collapsed Imo ICC.

The blocked Enugu Road in Onitsha too, the road leading to Area Command, just that there are alternative roads. Either Court Road or GRA by Stock Exchange.
If our security agencies are this afraid, what happens to us the ordinary citizens in the street?
Funny enough, Police Force, Anambra State Command is not under the authority of Willie Obiano, he cannot do anything about it.
