Oyedepo doesn't understand that many positive things are going on on Twitter. Social media is like the real world on steroids and extra energy. U still have same rights in the real world to choose and do what suits u bt under social media rules and rights.

I'm disappointed, this is an example of irrational thinking. He can as well encourage FG to ban mobile phone and laptops entirely since yahoo boys use it for fraud.

Ban kitchen knives because women are now using it to kill their husbands and boyfriends.

The benefits of social media can never be overlooked, if not for YouTube I wouldn't have learnt coding, graphics design or game development.

If not for Nairaland, I wouldn't have known freelancing works and how to go about getting clients abroad who pay well.

If not for Facebook, I wouldn't know the best and trending products to dropship.

If not for Twitter, SARS will still be out there killing youths for owning an iPhone.

Whats my own, can they really sensor social media? I don't think it's ever going to happen. Nigerians are very smart people with dump leaders so they will end up playing catchup.

Pls, how can I learn all these things?

I disagree

When people no longer have strong grip over controlling people, they feel threatened.

It's control freaks that would have such ìdeologies seeing that massive amount of people they once had as captives are no longer captives of their ìdeologies and control.

The world will continue to be a free place for people and will never return to an era where people are dominated and controlled people by fiat

It's control freaks that need to develop restraint and control themselves
So apt!

Social media has changed lives and still changing lives for good. You can get a job, or even go into partnership with foreigners. And you all make money together. This old generation are fighting a lost cause.

Today there are Jobs like telegram moderators for foreign groups that pay insane money. Anyone qualified candidates can take it up. No college degree requirements, No gender, No colour, No age barrier.

I spent five years getting a degree (4years program+ plus 1year ASUU strike) only for Gtbank and co to tell me that I'm above entry level age requirement. And Social media gave us opportunity to earn money and these bastards are not happy. This man should face his church and private jets and let the youths survive the way they can.

Anyone working to take away the only freedom we have will die miserably. I'm happy the youths are far ahead of them.

Let me add my few cents: it’s those who don’t have a satisfying job that spends most of their time on SM. You can’t have a job where you’re paid well, then you’re giving a task and you’ll be spending all or most of your time on social media. It doesn’t make sense.

This Headline is misleading. There was no where he told the government to regulate SM, he has always encourage young people not to be addicted with social media. By repeating it now doesn't mean he supports this wicked regime's quest to silent the masses...

•Is Freedom not part of Democracy we are enjoying?
•Is Free Press not part of Democratic development?
•While we know some Press are negatives, rascal and out if this World, does that means that the Press is no longer Fourth Estate of Realm in our democracy.
•Social Media has now come to stay but can it be tamed?

What's your point exactly? Is social media the cause of the Fulani herdsmen terrorists raiding of communities that is directly causing Famine in the land?

Did social media embezzle billions meant to power?

Is social media the one inflating and padding our national budgets?

Or is Twitter responsible for all the abandoned projects in Nigeria?

You people will leave real issues that is destroying this country and be chasing shadows. Shame on you all.

Posterity will be unkind to you all.

Tweeter is not suppose to be the problem. Twitter became the problem when it ban the comment of a sitting president.

If tweeter don't want to get himself involve in poilitics it should stick to being appreciatd as a business platform that's what it is now.

Because if it start venturing to politics no politician will play dead and simple for them like the mindless drones they regulated. They are in political waters now And the realm of real power. You are not going to dominate anyone without a fight.

Worse part is that his sheepies are still supporting him.

There is no addiction to Twitter. Twitter is where people's businesses are, Twitter is a an open forum for people to seek help, it is most importantly a social platform to communicate. If the government or any false pastor has a problem with it, then they have a problem with people's businesses and voices. Simple

What are they afraid of?

Hope you can see speaking out is not a guarantee someone has sense, I prefer the way Adeboye reacted to the Twitter ban

Are you saying the USA, China etc that their youths are using social media don't have future?

When his generation didn't have social media what have they achieved for this country with their focus

When has it become government responsibility to parent youths on internet

Did you read everything he said there? No, I am very sure you didn't but as usual, most of you will read the headline and jump into conclusion.

In case you claim to have read through, I beseech you to point out one thing you don't agree with up there. I double dare you to point out what he said that is wrong.

There's no where he even mention or call on the government in all the writing.
