That is one of challenges of rural-urban migration. The state was rated as the second investment location in Nigeria after Lagos, so stuffs like this will be attached to it. Send your delegates to study Lagos State template sir.

shocked

It's all about your security network and masterplan don't even blame it on population
Cos cities like Delhi, Osaka, Tokyo, Mumbai etc are far more populous than Oyo State yet the security situation is good!

GSM should be more proactive in providing solution to security challenges in oyo state.

Meanwhile One of the reason why Amotekun is not performing optimally is in the composition of it's leadership. The white paper that sets up Amotekun specifically asks that retired police officers heads it, not retired military officers as has been done by GSM. Amotekun is meant for local security and who knows local security more than the police. Certainly not the army so it's beats ones imagination why a retired soldier is the commandant and also a retired soldier the chairman, I just hope they will suceed eventually .

Most of you just read the head lines without reading the full article.
He is saying due to the favorable condition of doing business in Oyo state, there has been an influx of people. And amongst those are some criminal elements.
Seyi Makinde has been performing given the states limited resources.

Y’all should just stop abeg! He is not talking about the herdsmen alone, robberies have heightened in Ibadan. Makinde is a people’s man and he is doing a good job at what he was elected for.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has said the security challenges being experienced in the state was being caused because of the influx of more people and businesses to the state due to favourable policies of the state.

“Yes, I can go to Igangan and take responsibility for some of these activities but security is our collective responsibility. It is not just for the government or governor alone. So, everybody needs to come on board and play their own part.”

Look at the hypocrisy of PDP governors, after Buhari told them to take responsibility as a Chief Security Officer of their states, they now realized that
1. population is major contributor to security challenges but it was not for Buhari managing approximately 200m millions population. What is Oyo State population?
2. government favourable policy allow for more inflow of neighbouring states but the continuous inflow of other neighbouring countries to Nigeria is not about good FG policies. Lame excuse to cover up the population factor as the population has always been there even with the last administration in Oyo State, the Security has never been this bad.
3. security is a collective responsibility, it is for government alone and everyone must play their part. But, it is only FG responsibility alone before now.

Until a child becomes a responsible parents, he or she will not understand the overwhelming sacrifices the parents carried for him or her.

What is happening to Makinde in Oyo State buttresses the fact that it is until you are faced with one problem or the other you'd discover that YOU ARE NOT WISE.

I still wonder how come he walked freely amidst the protesters during the June 12th protest.....

May God be with him.

There we go again. You were elected for a purpose in the first instance, now out of all reasons, the only excuse is population explosion? Are you not benefitting from the population? Aren't people paying taxes? Sometimes I wonder why our electoral system is not working. They believe if the get the first term, mostly second term is sure even without good governance. And some people here are saying that the youths don't want to join politics, I laugh in Spanish. Are they not the one discouraging the youths? Imagine I am contesting a post with Tinubu's son in the same ward, is it not dead on arrival? Even if the people believe in me that I will do a good job based on my previous performances, they will still take bribe from the opponent because of poverty. They are systematically doing it because they know if you are hungry, first you can't determine your livelihood, and second, you are more after your survival. It is a simple arithmetic.

U are very wrong. D principles of governance are universal. Whether u running a small biz or a large business or outfit, it's d same principles. Like d bible says in Luke 16:10, he that is faithful in little will be faithful in much. He that is unfaithful in little, will be unfaithful in much. In d work place, u are assessed based on that and ur promotion is given. That is what is called credentials. It's on d basis of these credentials that showed success in private & business life, that these people campaignef for elections. If they used those credentials and are now failing, then it means that they are cheats

Are you sure you are ok? I posted a news report from Punch and you are blaming me. Why? I didn't add a single sentence of my own to it I posted it as it was reported by Punch so what exactly is my crime? The mods are the ones that chose to bolden some portions of it so again I ask what is my crime? I can't control how Nairalanders choose to react to the report. Maybe the report does not sit with your political bias or something, but that's your problem not mine. I merely posted a news report on Nairaland that was originally made available by Punch newspaper. I am sure someone else would have still done so if I didn't so take a chill pill. Why don't you go to the office of the punch newspaper and abuse them for coming up with the article? I am not the writer nor am I the reporter.

You sound very immature for saying this to me in my mention. Even if you are on the governor's payroll, that's not the way to show your grievance. Go and work on your emotional maturity please.
