They might not accept the proposal because something like this was tabled some times ago and it was not accepted, and it won't generate more revenue for the agency.

Live right, so if you're to come back again to correct your wrongs; Nigeria will not be an option. cool
Re: JAMB: Farook Kperogi's Suggestion On UTME by Geeman2006: 9:59am On Jun 29, 2021
You want to stop the revenue made on the Value Chain yearly. Stakeholders are cashing out yearly. Dead on Arrival.

The present Jamb system is better abeg
psucc:
As lofty asnthis idea seems, I doubt it will be considered. This is because the revenue JAMB has been turning in to government coffers will no more be there, and this is one condition our 'Oliver Twist' government will never bargain.
Re: JAMB: Farook Kperogi's Suggestion On UTME by vikstandon(m): 10:01am On Jun 29, 2021
We take JAMB every year, because Nigeria is out to make money, their concerns is to milk their citizens, anything that can bring money to centre is welcomed, everything that takes money to the regions is corruption fighting hard, the FULANI's and their LORDS must feed fat.
Re: JAMB: Farook Kperogi's Suggestion On UTME by Nobody: 10:01am On Jun 29, 2021
They keep extorting average people to fund govt pocket,,,,, awon 419!

Of what purpose is Post UTME when UTME is done yearly? Let UTME have 3-year validity at least! Post UTME should be given more concern - let it be the yearly judge! I kuku know say those foolish schools would skyrocket the cost too.

The most annoying thing is that, unlike before, you can no longer do the registration yourself on PC. You just have to spend unnecessarily here & there. And they would claim the current Jamb Registrar is remitting more than the previous ones. Why wouldn't he do more when they keep squeezing the average until they have even their last drop? Knowing well that education is important to most people & they would do anything to get it. The exam that is supposed to be free if all is fine in the country. E no go better for those who keep extorting the poor!

JAMB is only after accumulation of funds. The more candidates fail, the more fresh candidates and old ones retake, the more money they make.

I thought they have deliberated on this issue then during the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan, that it will has a validity of 3yrs or so. We no hear anything again since it does not affect them. Anything for the benefit of the people is not their concern. It is well

Students failed their jamb lets change the system instead of making sure they work hard and read more.
Re: JAMB: Farook Kperogi's Suggestion On UTME by Asj001: 10:07am On Jun 29, 2021
It is not about revenue generation. For instance, SAT is about 200 dollars while JAMB is 15 dollars.
Jamb is once a year while the SAT can be taken several times until you achieve your desired score. Eventually the SAT generates more revenue than the JAMB

The drawback of the SAT is that you will need insane scores to get into any competitive university because you are also competing with terrific scores from previous years.
On top of that, indigent(poor) students who cannot afford taking the exam multiple times like their rich counterparts will be at a great disadvantage.

Do you see why JAMB is better for Nigeria

Managing admission process has since become a secondary concern for JAMB. The body has turned into income generation agency overnight for the government and now compete with the Customs, NPA etc l, and openly declare profits like every other eye service agencies of the current government.

So I seriously doubt if this novel idea would get the attention of the current board of JAMB.
the same man that made jamb income generating agency by exploiting children, his brother from the same state called honest man. My elder brother worked in jamb, the level of wickedness that man is doing to his staff is alarming. He's a very corrupt person as well.

It doesn't make sense especially in a country where schools can be out of sessions and for a long period of time due to strike

Rubbish idea.
Then you have 5million accumulated admissions.
But most importantly each year JAMB ensures the same standard of test are used to assess every aspirant.
What a student that passed JAMB 5 years back but has been at home since because of lack of space, may have known then, may have evaporated after 5,4,3 or even 2 years of redundancy.
Yearly JAMB test is still the best.
With all these that you typed have our education standard better than that of US where a student can make use of its SAT result for 5 years before expiry

They have turned an academic agency into an income generating agency which is not good cos if jamb don't make profit in a year it will be assumed they have failed which is not polite...

Your argument is very funny, the universities already have a quota they plan to admit each year. Even if everyone scores above 300, the universities will simply increase their cut off and the difficulty remains the same
Simplythebest:
How will Jamb then make money for themselves to steal and for the federal government to misuse the remaining one. The main thing is that jamb has ture to a revenue generation agency of the government which is not suppose to be. An achievement of a jamb registrar is base on how much billions of Naira he made every year. Honestly this country is in a total mess by own bad leaders who never want the best for the poor masses. How many of our politicians children study in Nigeria that will make them to see it as a priority. Jamb may even do something that will make a lot of students fail so that they can come the next year to retake the jamb and pay another money. Our education and health care can never be good or compete with others outside the country if we don't have a law that will ban all government officials and politicians from sending their children abroad for education and them going abroad for health issues. This country can never be good rather it will get worse everyday
