Lol too many tricks full Nigeria police men body..

That was how I made the mistake of giving a police man my original vehicle particulars, dude turned his back on me for a few seconds and next thing my papers weren't complete anymore.. beginning of extortion.
From that day I understood why my people moved with with the photocopies, even self have like 3 copies of each incase the police man choose to be smart.

A police officer once said these exact words to me "look at you, you fit be my junior brother age mate and you dey drive car. Yet I dey here dey carry iron (referring to his gun) from morning till night. You must find me something before you go."

I had to give him 500 naira before he let me go.

I was stopped by some dumbf**k from the Nigerian Police Farce in 2003 while driving from the office. He saw by my demeanour that I was pissed off with him, and that I wasn't scared. Then he was telling his mates "these young boys that carry their father's car...", referring to me. That was when I knew those guys really have bags and bags of issues.

Someone gave a police officer a lift and the police officer dropped a bullet in the car. The guy saw it immediately the policeman alighted and he immediately threw it away.

On continuation of his journey, he was pulled over by the Policemen on the checkpoint and they went straight to where the bullet was, but they didn't find it. They searched and searched but didn't find it. They were looking at him but couldn't say a word.

I have never been a fan of the Nigerian police because of several unsavory personal experiences with them. I have made this known several times on this forum, and one time a police officer Nairalander reached out to me privately to let me know that the despite the bad eggs in the Force, good ones still exist. Although I remain unconvinced (worse now more than ever), I still maintain a cordial relationship with this person.

This afternoon, my SO was stopped by the men in black at Underbridge on the road that leads to Guiness, Oba Akran road, Ikeja. They pulled him over and proceeded to do a 'thorough search' of the vehicle. Surprise surprise, what did they find at the corner of the door of the driver's side?

Yep, you guessed right. Colorado, aka Cannabis, aka advanced SK or whatever allied street adjective is given to this brand of illegal stimulant.

This is someone who has does not even fraternize with people who smoke this nonsense, neither has he smoked this in his life. He hardly even gives people lifts so where did this stick of Igbo come from?

You are right again. Our friendly Nigerian Police Officers dropped it there for the usual hydra headed purposes of extortion, intimidation, theft, thievery, harassment etcetera etcetera.

They handcuffed this innocent young man like a common criminal, and one of them nearly slapped him, but when the officer noticed his unruffled demeanour and almost maniacally calm laughter, they realised that perhaps, just, perhaps they were messing with the wrong candidate.

A took a call from higher quarters before he was released after hours of embarrassment and being shackled like a thief who stole the neighbourhood goat.

Now my question is what would have happened if he did not have contacts that he could reach out to? He would have been hauled off to jail and milked dry. There are so many innocent people in cells languishing because the people who have sworn to serve and protect them have betrayed them.

The Nigerian Police is NOT YOUR FRIEND. When they pull you over and want to search your vehicle, be VERY vigilant. If possible you latch their hands to yours so that all of you will search together in case they want to be unfortunate. Many of them plant illegal substances in people's vehicles and living quarters so that they can have an avenue to extort and harass them, and woe betides you if you don't have either connection or money to bail yourself.

THE NIGERIAN POLICE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!

I don't know about this scenario. But if true, it's unfortunate, it happens worldwide. God save us from such unscrupulous elements.

A dash cam facing inside your car(front and back) will solve this problem.

This is how I was coming back from Enugu last night at around 9pm. At aroma junction Awka, this policeman stopped our vehicle and proceeded to search us, after he was done, he asked for the particulars of the vehicle which were given to him. We went ahead to ask for drivers license. What business does police have with drivers license? Unfortunately, the driver wasn't with them because they were seized by road safety officials and he left the booking paperwork at home.

Na so this guy delayed us until 10pm. We even gave him 500 from one of the passengers but he insisted that his bribe will be 2000. We begged this guy tire.

Long story short,he collected the bribe of 600 and we left after spending almost one hour at the place.

These people are irredeemable. Forget the story of few good ones. Those ones don't speak up against evil but keep quiet

Sometimes you see these policemen stranded by the road side hoping a kind citizen would give them a lift. They'll start waiving down cars and begging for a ride. You go really pity them but mehn their names have been soiled in dirt. Just hope you don't give a ride to the wrong person. Dem fit plant weed or bullet for your car.

It shows to say many of those paraded as criminals and sentenced were not actually criminals.
Thats why I support the ENDSARS protest and I will always support it if part 2 of it will happen again.
Those who say the protest must not come up again are outrightly selfish and cowards.

Always make sure that only one officer searches your vehicle...
Please don't ever let another officer to start searching from the other side where your eyes are not reaching..
Just plead with him earnestly to stop his own search and allow only the officer in front of you to do the whole searching.

I have a dash cam, I just turned it inwards. wink

Most people in prison are innocent. The guilty ones are not in jail, police collects money from their hands.

The police service or force lacks discipline and professionalism. They are ruled by corruption rather than the constitution. It is appalling they have stooped another step lower to this act and it must be escalated by the public so it can be casted once all Nigerians know about it.

Pls escalate this.

The level of dislike in my heart once I see them on the road is beyond comprehension.

It's not in my nature to hate but I really dislike them intensely.

Men I hate them joor.

Animals. Always looking to extort that's all. All the time.

WTF is stop and search? Is that how crime is solved. One stopped me the other day and said your drivers license and tint permit.

I habe two tint permits the old one and new one
I left the old one on top because once they see it, they cannot see anything else. The pretend to gloss over the rest of the papers ab flip back to the old one.

I always have the last laugh. One even said I should remove it and I told him all na paper.

One imbe told me you're welcome at checking my papers and I told him I didn't ask for the paper to be checked. Zoomed off.

Animals. Though non has ever searched my car. Like ever.
Lol
