However with recent and current happenings, the Governor would have just been diplomatic by selecting an Oba from Oyo since it's a state university. There's nothing wrong with that, Many of our obas too are chancellors in northern universities, especially state and federal-owned institutions. There's law governing that. Emir of Gwandu is the chancellor of FUTA for instance. Everything can not be tossed along ethnic lines. There has to be balance and fairness in administration. The fact that the president is not obeying federal character in his appointments to offices does not mean state governors, ministers and top government officials must follow suit.

I believe most of those insulting Makinde are illiterates, they have even seen a university wall before.
