humility33: My friend shut your stupid mouth. A coach inherit a team that failed to qualify for back to back Anc, Qualifies and reaches 3rd on his 1st try while improving his team ranking by 20 position in that period and selecting genuine young players for the future. Instead of appreciating him, they're denigrating him. You want him to be arrogant and boastful by promising things he cannot guarantee. Nigerians must learn humility by force. This 4 - 0 was an eye opener and the real sprite opener will be when we terminate Rohr and hire a local coach. Na there our eyes go officially Clear. Rohr isn't having a defeatist attitude he is just being humble and playing mind games. For example, the insult that our sport minister publicly disrespected Rohr will never be tolerated by a Local Coach let alone a renowned foreign coach and the fact that Rohr hasn't responded even to a team that's owing him 7 months salaries in arrears speaks volume of Rohr character 14 Likes |

It's not about training together for 2 weeks, if they even trained together for 3 months, the result will be the same, mediocre footballers will always be mediocres no matter how long they train together. timay: |

cc12: Yea, that was my point. 2 weeks is more than enough time for a group of decent players to train together and play even if it's an average game |

Playing Mexico's first team to prepare for CHAN is like reading a biology text book to prepare for a mathematics exam. There was absolutely no rational reason to play home based in this fixture. Teams in Africa would've been far cheaper to play and closer to what we should expect to face at CHAN. It's either some NFF big wig is desperate to sell players or the minister wants to score cheap political points by portraying his government as "patriotic". Big ups to Rohr who foresaw evil and hid himself......we for don finish am by now. Politics is politics and football is football. Mix the both and there can only be one result. 3 Likes |

U spent months shouting about corruption then next thing u are advocating for a man who was caught on camera taking money. I still want more international matches for the local guys. How can a team participate in 2 different tournaments (CHAN & WAFU) but yet no get togethers or friendly matches. The whole team had 7 caps put together and that should never happen when there is a local team available. U can only get international experience by playing international matches. I believe this was what the sports minister spoke about so I am keeping faith. 1 Like 2 Shares |

12large1: You're on point but at the bolded, Is that not why He was given the contract? We should not be giving not qualifying ANC bla bla bla excuses, maybe NFF not doing dere part (that's fine by me). If Lampard still remains as Chelsea coach they might not have make it to the top 4 not to talk of winning the CL. So because TT won them the CL this past season, not playing well next season and the one after and the one that follows He should be left as the manager because He won them the CL in His first season? 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: Salisu proved me wrong as a coach He did marvellously well wit the team B I enjoyed his stint even though he was caught taking bribe...taking bribe is common to indigenous coaches i will be surprised if there is anyone whose palms can't be greased with some hard currencies Well i referenced him because he is the best so far we have had and will do better than the two carpenter coaches that just fumbled wit the team 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Friendly relevant to their quest should be played The idea of playing mexico was to market them to leagues abroad If the nff really want experience for them...they should camp them in abuja for weeks and let them play some local club sides to build synergy and thereafter play countries like benin rep, togo, niger, chad for friendly that will help them better get in shape for wafu and chan preparation 3 Likes 1 Share |

I do not understand this. If a coach is not good enough you get an alternative and fire him. Very simple. Ofcourse there would probably be the problem of having to pay them a severance. So if you consistently run into bad coaches stop offering long term contracts. Offer 2 year contracts, so you won't have to deal with their mediocre performance for long. But the mediocrity of NFF is worse and I cannot see them changing their bad luck. I would like to be wrong for all our sakes. As I previously opined, NFF needs to do something about developing coaches locally. 12large1: |
