BascoVanVeli: Yes, more international matches for them but with fellow WAFU and CHAN Teams and not by wasting tax payers' money in taking them to the US to play Mexico. If it is all about increasing their number of caps why not organize a 4-nations tourney with our WAFU neighbours. At least that would have been a better CHAN/WAFU preparation for them, than going to embarrass Nigeria against Mexico. To say the fact, I would have been surprised if that team had lost by 1 or 2 goals margin. A league that cannot produce clubs that can compete in Africa, what do you expect of players assembled such a league? Look at even how they played. Generally poor football awareness. You will even ask where are the quality coaches to drill these guys. A general lack of quality coaches. That friendly opportunity was a total waste. If we didn't want to play with our Main Super Eagles, at least, It could have been an opportunity to play so many Europe based young players, especially those that would have played in the Olympics if we had qualified. Even if we had lost 4-0 with such a team we still could taken some positives in assessing the level of preparedness of some of the players for the Senior national Team. I had never been in support of executing that Mexico friendly with 100% based team, What a wasted opportunity. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

realpoacher: Kudos to Bascovanveli for those video highlights, at least it has gone a long way in projecting the league in good light. At least I watch most of those videos. But the fact remains that the standard of the league remains terribly poor. Watch the enter 90mins of an NPFL game and you will manage to stay awake awake till the 90th minute. 1 Like |

Can we just for once agree now that all our home base players are all ekuke...and very poor players...even if we field academy players/u20 players from Europe they won't have lost uselessly like this...this is a team where we thought we could have a heir to iwobi they just went to LA to waste tax payers money 4 Likes |

Bulk of blames go to NFF, not the Players or their Handlers. These Players are home-based, how often are they training together?! Our Coaches are sitting idle when there is no international Match, does it make any sense?! At least Aigbogun and Co should be responsible for scouting Talents in the League, and ensuring they are training them together at least twice in a Month. For instance best Players in the League on Monthly basis should be brought together and getting trained as a Team..... with Incentives. Anyone who couldn't measure up to Standard in the following Month should be replaced. This will improve the League Standard because Players will be competing 100% to make the List. Also there should be friendly Matches for them during international Breaks with at least West African Countries. Its never too late to correct the Mistakes. Local Players need the Exposure, they've learned definitely and know their places. 3 Likes |

Philosopher1979:The Nigerian way of doing things. instead of tackling issues from the source, they'll tackle it from the mouth. Pinnick wants to stop players from signing for backwater leagues, Is that the solution? Why limit people's freedom? Why not allow them make their choices in peace? Improve the league and players will remain. At a time when we should be developing our main team for the AFCON, he suddenly developed interest in homebased, even calling Foreign based players ajebo. All that pinnick talk about Nigerian talent, did we see any of that yesterday? Absolutely not. We just like to make so much noise in Nigeria. I wonder how they intend to develop a league using friendly matches. 2 Likes |

12large1: Rohr justified!!! His statements concerning the team have now been more of truths and reality than beef, statwise, over the years. NFF should bury heads in shame. They probably aren't after dev but want to cash out. 5yrs now and barely any improvement on the technical and tactical front. 6 Likes 1 Share |

DrKlever: One of the first attributes that makes a sound coach is selection. When you select a coach based on sentiments, it goes a long way that you will have faulty selections. Does Aigbogun even know the quality players to suit the pattern he wants to play? My take is get the right guys first who know the job then give them free hands to scout and select their squad. |

my problem with all these type of matches is that,in the future,it would still be recorded that mexico beat nigeria 4-0,people won't remember that it was not our main team that played the match. 2 Likes |

Its like some people did not get the code: Here is it: Lets make money... Lets use Latinos... Mexicans live here a lot.. Invite her national team to play a weak team... Benefits: More money in agents and organizers pockets.. more confidence for Mexican team... Mexicans in LA are happy... Nigerian players are happy playing in US... Referees go home with something... ITS A WIN-WIN FOR EVERYBODY.... 5 Likes 2 Shares |
