Nope. You can start a new DS-160 or retrieve the old one and just use it to fill a new DS-160 for the new school. Then go back to your appointment portal and click on update. Change the DS-160 confirmation to the new one then send an email to support@ustraveldocs.com to update the school name, SEVIS ID,address and postal code.

Subject of mail: Urgently require updates on my application

You can follow this template:

After updating on the appointment portal, I was told you just have to take both the old and new ds-160 confirmation slips to the interview. Do you still need to send an email? Does this apply to every update you made to your ds-160 or just change of school?
In my case, there is a change in sponsor. I had initially mistakenly put self as sponsor, but now I need to change it to uncle. Do I also need to do as you said by sending an email?

Hello guys! Please I need your help on this one! My interview is tomorrow and I’m in the dark about something! I started working in may2016 then in 2018 I gained admission into the uni of Lagos to study chemical engr but I due to some personal issue I dropped out in my first semester 2nd year! But I didn’t state it in my ds-160 cos I didn’t graduate! Can’t I take my admission later I used in getting into the unilag so the VO believes me or I shouldn’t bother about talking bout it

You're better off finishing in Nigeria. How would you explain leaving your degree with 1 year left, at your visa interview?

My bestie, 17 yrs old (will be 18 late this year) just got a job offer from ROBLOX, that company that design games in San Manteo, California as a Youth Program Coordinator. He's to resume in 10 days but ROBLOX asked him to send his international passport number to generate some paperwork for him.

Please I'd like to know

1) Can he get an expedited international passport within 5 days and how much will it cost?
2) What type of Visa does he need, can he apply for an expedited Visa in the next 3 days and how much is the cost?
3) can he Travel on or before the 9th day and within what range is the flight ticket?
5) Also, can 1.5 million naira run the whole process of leaving Nigeria and paying like 2/3 month rent?
6) Chances of getting his Visa approved?

P.S: The pay is 50k USD per year, he needs to get an apartment, cover his transportation, feeding, and accommodation. The contract is just for 2 years.

Background:

-He's an high achieving high school graduate,
with a couple of international and national awards.

-His mom SOA is over 20 million naira as at last month.

- He runs an organization, and has worked with a couple organizations too.

There is no way your friend is resuming in 10 days. The company needs to file for an H1B visa for him, that alone takes months to be approved.

I'm in a dilemma, I'm torn between continuing with my low paying job which is not in line with my course of study or quitting to focus more on my graduate school application.

I'm also planning to apply for Canadian Express entry while preparing for my master's application. But the problem here is that I don't have up to 3 years experience yet, I have to wait till next year April.

For the graduate school application, I plan to take GRE and TOEFL and I need time to myself to prepare and also run around for my transcript and recommendation letters. Working won't give me the time I feel I need to do these things. I have about #700k saved up which I plan to use for this application.

What do you advice I do in such situation

Here is my profile
Undergraduate course: Pure and Applied Chemistry
CGPA: 4.3/5
No publication

Good morning.
Well, this is not a financial advice grin

Why do you have to choose between continuing with your low-paying job and quitting to focus on your graduate school application when you can combine both? There are a good number of successful applicants who have done same.

Here's what I suggest:
Find a way to convert your unrelated work experience to a relevant one which can boost your chances in getting admission and getting your visa approved at the embassy. It depends on your profile and intended degree field. I believe there is always a way to make your job experience relevant or package it to the school you are applying to and the embassy when it is time. Every company or business or organizations that give jobs have different units/departments. Find which is more related and get involved.
PS. I'm giving a general answer because i don't have the details of your job and intended field of study.

Speaking of the relatedness of your job to your intended field of study, I believe you've read transcripts of people that have switched fields. Just be ready to give cogent reasons when asked (e.g. new-found interest in this field, discovered a problem, going back to your passion, etc).

Wish you God's grace.

There's a lot of information you've not provided...your question is kinda confusing!
This begs a lot of questions.

To start with, you started working long before you got admitted to UNILAG.
This employment was based on what? Academic qualification or job experience? What's your job description? Is it related to Chemical Engineering? Do you still work there currently?
The admission at UNILAG was for an undergraduate degree?

Now, what degree are you pursuing in the US? Undergrad. or graduate?
What's the actual problem? Gap years?
This admission letter you're asking about...what role will it play? What will you be convincing the VO about since you did not even mention your school in your DS-160?
Come out plain, please.

Generally, I suggest you be as truthful as possible to the VO and do not contradict yourself.

Yeah I took up a job in my uncle’s school to teacher primary school students! But in 2018 I started attending uni lag studying bsc in chem engr but the death of my bro played a big part in me dropping out and also inspired me to choose nursing as a course! I initially didn’t put it in my ds-160 cos I didn’t get a degree from unilag

Roblox should have a HR department that deals with international recruitment and would be able to guide him properly. It would be best to work with HR

if he sure its a legit offer then let him go to passport office ASAP and try to get a passport

I'm quite aware H1B is for University Graduates, which he isn't or highly skilled professionals which he isn't. He's just a term with extreme management abilities.

For changes on DS-160 you need to fill another to effect changes if you have submitted. I believe you can also retrieve it if you are yet to submit.

I can make a guess... you're currently teaching in your uncle's school and goin' for a nursing undergraduate degree in the US.
The death of your brother prompted you to study nursing.

To convince the VO when/if asked, you'll need to state exactly what led to your brother's death, how that condition is what you're going to be studying, what you plan to do after the degree (study plans during and after your stay in the US) and of what use this degree will be.

About the gap years, you need to state in clear terms what you've been doing. If you still have time, you can post a proposed transcript for the mandem to review.

Teaching is quite flexible... there's a lot one can make out of your experience, I believe.

Always remember, don't contradict yourself.
Pray for God's leading.

Wish you God's grace and success.

Hello guys please i plan reapplying for my 3rd f1 visa interview in abuja, i had the last 2 about two months ago in lagos consulate.

My first interview i was asked.
1. To talk about my plans - i told VO i where i was going and what i was going to study.
2. Vo asked what my course was all about - i told her everything about it
3. Vo asked about my sponsor and what he does for a living? - i told her my dad and he’s the head pastor of a church, after she requested for his monthly income i showed her he’s bank statement
Vo kept typing, looked at me in surprise and asked why haven’t I travelled out of the country be4, i tried explaining but in btw she just denied me!!!

Second visa interview
1. Vo asked what my educational plans where - i told him where i was going and what i was studying
2. He asked who will be sponsoring me and what he does for a living - i told him my dad’s a pastor and is into medium scale farming and real estate!
3. After I finished talking he denied me visa.

Please confirm if what you're seeing is "Application under review" or "evaluation in progress". If it's the former, it may take up to three weeks before you see any update to evaluation in progress. If it's the latter however, you may need to call their customer care.

Why not go for an Ms in your intended course? Also, let me help you. Get your official transcripts from your school. Get a nice CV that shows all your achievements in fashion. Check for schools in the US doing your course and mail the Graduate Co-ordinator if you meet minimum requirements or what you need to do to apply( so as to know what you need to include in your application to be competitive whether you need the GRE or TOEFL or may be a professional certificate or a pre-requisite you need to take). All the best!
