Could be pityriasis versicolor, pityriasis rosea or whatever the heck!

Dermatology messes with my brain mehn, it's not my strong forte at all Hated that dept since med school!

I do understand chief,anything skin messes most medics up.Infact I hate reviewing skin presentations.Rosea is fine,scaly and pinkish,versicolor is hypopigmented.
Good thing about dermatology is, you only need to see it once and you will never miss it when you see it again.

I really think you should try rubbing brake hydraulic on the affected part,as crazy and mad it may sound hydraulic is very effective in clearing skin diseases like ezcema,just one or two applications clears excema like magic,it may work on our problem but try it first and see

If u r a smoker then u have Aspergillus a fungi infection,and fungi infection takes long. Try itraconazole and quit smoking too ur lungs need rest

Bro this is a fungi skin disease...I have been battling with it too....urs as mine is inherited and is in your blood stream and as such can not be cured(scary but good fact to prepare ur mind) but it can be treated...if you like clear it from ur body today tomorrow it will appear again...so you got to live with it...it is usually worst in rainy season than dry season...why? It loves sweaty skin so bath regularly....some cream and soap can trigger and aggravate the flare ups....best cream to use is palmers cocoa butter (be using it after undergoing this step by step treatment am about to proffer)..any medicated soap can serve but preferably Delta soap.....buy fucin tablets ketoconazole will only increase drug resistance no effect...next step is to buy aquasulf and skineal..... use the former at night after bath and the later in the morning

I don't know if this would work.. but it's worth a try..
You can try Orange oil
It won't cost you much

You can get fresh orange peel.. just the back of the orange without the whitish part...
Just blend it to powder and soak in olive oil and leave it for 24hrs

After that put a pot on the fire, add add little amount water to it and let it boil.. then put the orange mixture in stainless plate or anything that can conduct heat and place it in the boiling water to heat it up... Then seperate the orange mixture... The oil from the mixture should smell like orange after separation.. Then start rubbing it on your skin daily..

Do more reading on orange oil before you try it..
