Because they had a buy clause inserted in the contract. That's how it works. How many times will we go over this? Liverpool never gave that option to any club loaning Taiwo Awoniyi. How on Earth is that the same Na wa ooo.

Oga, they had an option to buy not obligation to buy...They could have decided not to sign him after his loan expired if he didn't impress them enough... In the same way, the clubs Awoniyi played for could have tabled a bid for him the end of his loan of he impressed enough...It's pretty straight forward...

undecided undecided undecided chai!! Is this seriously u that is reasoning like this? Na real wa ooo. Somebody had a price already set for them that would never go up no matter how great the player performed. How on Earth is that the same as not having a set price? Are you telling me that you believe Wolfsburg wouldn't have increased Osimhen's price if there wasn't a clause with a price set already Haba!!

Yes they did fairly well but it hasn't been quite mind blowing in comparison to our guys who went to England, France and Italy. Spain has been the most challenging top 5 league for our strikers. Off the top of my head can't remember any of our forwards who did well in La Liga except Christopher Ohenhen.

We are not doing enough to develop our local leagues especially the NPFL and secondly lot of nigerians have migrated out of this country in the past 20 years so you should expect their kids to identify with nigeria in sports likely and others

For example my sister kids talk lot about nigeria each time i talk with them over the phone, their favourite meal they told me is Nigeria jollof rice and they love eba and egusi alot..... this are kids that dont even have a Nigeria passport so tell me should they have the opportunity to identify with nigeria tomorrow they would waste no time to do that

Think the discrimination qnd biased sentiments against foreign born players is simply born out of short sightedness and non exposure because we can be in same shoes some day most especially those of us that dont mind relocate out of the country

I said nothing about an increase in price! .My stance is simple ; Chareloi could have decided not to exercise the option to sign him if he didn't impress them enough! The same way the clubs Awoniyi played for could have decided to sign him after his loan expired.. Lucas Nemecha just signed for Wolfsburg...He was there previously on loan with no option to buy clause.....that's an example...Ozan Kabak joined Liverpool in January with an option to buy clause, now he is back to Shackle with that option not exercised.... That's another example...

We have dominated Africa too much with our local players...But they haven't extended such performance to the world stage, so maybe the NFF are turning to the foreign borns for help..
The sad thing is that we haven't leveraged on the performance of our ladies on the continent to try and improve the local league... Just like the male league, it's still stagnant...

Osimhen will miss Napoli’s clash against Juventus and four other matches next season

The Nigerian international will potentially miss five league games for the Neapolitans next season following the release of the 2021/2022 Serie A fixtures

The fixtures for next season’s Serie A were released on Wednesday, with the opening round pitting Napoli against Venezia, which will see Osimhen take on Tyronne Ebuehi.

Osimhen is expected to be included in Nigeria’s squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The biennial competition holds between January 9-February 6, and that could see Osimhen miss five games if the Super Eagles go all the way...

Osimhen please do your career a favor, forget the nations cup for now! You can't afford a ghost start in your second season at Napoli

Can we just end this classification of players into homebased and foreign based. Its a subtle form of apartheid.

The worst is that once it's mentioned, someone will immidiately start talking about NFF, Pinnick and the local league, as if the use of foreign based players is a disgrace. The league needs improvement, yes. But that has nothing to do with foreign based players.

U said it all bro, later we go dey cry racism but the way foreign born players re being insulted atimes here shows that some of us re worst than the racist whites

No matter how disgraceful it seem to others the way some foreign born players do turn us down or delay in declaring interest in playing for us I still see nothing wrong in the nff n Rohr not giving up in luring this players

If you want to compete with the best you have the best you can boast of most especially in sports.

Coming to the local league a lot hv to be done in the area players development which must start from grassroots.

The league board should make it compulsory for our local clubs to hv academies where players re taught the basics before they turn professionals. This is the reason why grassroot clubs export players easily to Europe unlike our league clubs.

Four-time Belgian champions Royal Antwerp have announced through their official website that they have reached an agreement with Swedish Allsvenskan side IFK Göteborg for the transfer of talented Nigerian midfielder Alhassan Yusuf.

The 20-year-old Yusuf is joining Royal Antwerp on a four-year deal, pending a physical.

He is expected to undergo the medical examination on Monday, July 19 before putting pen to paper.

This season, Yusuf has made ten appearances for IFK Göteborg, taking his total appearances for the club to 77, comprising of 66 in the Allsvenskan, 10 in the Svenska Cupen and one in the Europa League qualifying round.

A product of Tiki Taka Academy in his homeland, he transferred to IFK Göteborg in July 2018 following a successful trial.

He caught the eye of the Swedish club after starring in the prestigious Gothia Cup, a tournament whose alumni includes the likes of Júlio Baptista, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Kim Källström and Emmanuel Adebayor.

There are more Nigerians in Nigeria than Nigerians outside Nigeria so it's about protecting the interests and opportunities of Nigerians born in Nigeria.
