Hello everyone. Good evening all Please this will be first time applying for US student visa. I need help guys. I have been following up and have been going through some transcript. I need help on the step by step process for visa application after admission or the link here where I can read them. Question: Is it okay to use my Brother-in-law (employer) as a sponsor? or Should my brother fund his account the amount required? Thanks all |

JavanElsevier41:Hello, I have a similar issue just that my brother stays in Georgia while my school is in florida. He is also my sponsor. Is that bad? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Pefuele(m): 9:45pm On Jul 17, 2021 |
Duisburg:You can't tell the school to put family funding. They have a way they prepare the sponsorship part of their i-20. You can only ask them to make corrections if something is not right on the i-20. It is possible that you can change sponsor but ensure they are legit. |

Approvalll:16th of August is a Monday if you are approved you can pick your VISA like Thursday or Friday of that week all things being equal. Then book your flight immediately. In fall2019 some guys that did their interview who were placed on AP had their VISA approved after the program start date so it is possible for you to also defer your application to Spring after approval. |

Staring in disbelief at the letter in a green-colored paper, that was given to me after my visa was delayed at the Consular office in Abuja V.O: I see you are going for bachelors degree in Computer science at Xavier University In New-Orleans, Louisiana. Response: Yes, I am going for a bachelors degree program in Computer science at Xavier University. V.O: When did you graduate from High school? Response: I graduated from high School in 2017. V.O: What have you been doing? Response: I started a foundational diploma program In computer science at the Institute of Science and Technology to improve my skills and knowledge as this has always been my passion and interest. She Interrupted with another question....What program? I said a Diploma program. V.O: Who is sponsoring your program. Response: My uncle who is also my godfather will be sponsoring my education at Xavier University. V.O What does he do? Response: He is an established businessman and deals on importation of Automobiles, Car, and trucks of all kinds. He is also into Real estate development. V.O What will you do when you return? Response: I will return to start a cyber-security consultancy firm that will help companies create, plan and carry out measures to protect its system from being compromised by an attack. and Also...... She interrupted again... My interview didn't last more than 2 minutes. I have provided my transcript for your perusal and corrections. I feel bad because I didn't get the normal interview questions that most people usually get. I plan to apply again if I see available date. |

Lovethchisom:Step by step for visa application, has been attended to in subsequent pages. If I get you right your brother wants to fund your brother-in-law to sponsor you. I don't think that sounds right. Why can't your brother sponsor you directly? Brother is closest to you and easier to defend as to why he decides to sponsor you. Preferable to use your brother. |

Futuragetty:there you go.... |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by NigPatriot(m): 1:31am On Jul 18, 2021 |
Futuragetty:Sorry for the denial. But at the bolded, your questions are similar to what people are majorly asked, she only inverted yours (what you were expecting to come later, came too early) - which is why when you're preparing for interview don't cram your answers, believe it's a conversation take time to understand the question and reply. From this transcript you posted, the VO made up her mind when she asked you what have you been doing since graduation - sorry to say but you did not demonstrate to her much action terms and she needed clarity, asking what diploma. Come up with simpler understanding basic terms that reflect your"actions" use more adverbs when talking. Many of the time they already make their decision from how you answer the first question. I should ask, did you have funding? Also Did you fidget alot while answering the question? Then the funding part. Your sponsor seems to be involved in everything. Detail one thing he/she does and expand on it - prove to the VO your "godfather" can sponsor you. (btw, I'm still surprised you used godfather as a sponsor for a 4 year bachelor degree program). Make necessary changes delay is never denial. |

Missouri State University, Spring 2022, no GRE, no Test of English language for the candidates from Nigeria. All the best ChiefDaddy1: |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Futuragetty: 5:52am On Jul 18, 2021 |
NigPatriot:Yes, I received a Full tuition scholarship from Xavier. I used my uncle as "my sponsor" and NOT my god-father. Yes, I did fidget a little at the concluding part, because I already knew where this would go, a denial. Her words hit me like a ton of bricks. OK, Thank you. I will make the necessary corrections. |

Malone122:Thanks man. But what if the passport got lost? Could an affidavit or something be used? I don't know if this might have been answered here but please what other way can I prove my travel history? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Pefuele(m): 7:28am On Jul 18, 2021 |
Futuragetty:Sorry. You got the normal question but didn't prepare enough. There is a difference between written transcripts & mock interview. And dnt forget cyber- security is on the US technology alert list. Good-luck next time! |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by chigozieduru: 7:45am On Jul 18, 2021 |
Futuragetty: Futuragetty:I feel the highlighted areas might have influenced how the interview went. 1. I would've mentioned that I received a full tuition scholarship when asked who's sponsoring my program. Then go on and say the expenses would be covered by "uncle" and why that uncle is footing your expenses. E.g loss of parent (God forbid if not in your case) and how he has been devoted to taking care of you etc. 2. Come up with a concise plan on what you've been doing. You can mention you took remedial computer science classes that would help when you start college and learning programming/web development... 3. What you would do when you get back. You need some work on this. Curious what age range you fall in. That might also have an influence. All the best in your next attempt and don't give up. |

JavanElsevier41:Xcence Guest House by Emeka Anyaoku Street, Area 11, Garki is great. #500 to the Embassy via bolt. Close to the popular Ojuelegba restaurant if you don't want hotel food. From personal experience, there's light 24/7. |

Hi House, pls answer these questions: 1) what's the full meaning of V O and WES? 2) I've not seen prospective students asking question about Harvard and Yale, is there any perceived reason? Thanks in anticipation. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by pennstate(m): 10:53am On Jul 18, 2021 |
ObamaMessi:People who go to Yale or Harvard don't come here to ask questions; they already know what to do (pun intended). Since you are asking questions here, are you sure you want to go to Yale or Havard? As for VO or WES: one is Visa Officer the second is World Education Services. Next time you come across abbreviation you don't know type it on google, it ll help build your search skills. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Pefuele(m): 11:32am On Jul 18, 2021 |
ObamaMessi:Looks like you are in the incipient stage in US study VISA processing. VO:VISA Officer WES:World Education Service Before I knew a lot about Havard & Yale I started with knowing about the University of New Haven and Eastern Illinois University. So I started from the safe to the ambitious & I will be going to an ambitious school: a top 45 in the US. Those two schools you mentioned are highly selective school so I believe if you are looking at them you prolly would have had a stellar profile: Top 1% GPA,GRE of 330+, TOEFL of 100+ ( in ideal cases) and with quality internships or work experience in respected companies in decent leadership positions. In other words you would have been working on your profile since you are a toddler.... lol |
