because of the environment the foreign born grow up in.. some of them will be better... and I'm also looking at the economic benefit to the Nigerian born players..

playing for Nigeria upgraded Okoye career drastically.. so Nigerian born players won't be able to upgrade their careers because the national team will be majorly foreign born players..
A good player is a good player, Solanke can't lace Osimhen's left boot. It's the government job to boost economy besides you don't have to play for the SE to make it in football, those guys playing in eastern Europe dey make money like mad. The SE should only be for the best irrespective of where they got their football education from

they ( some people on this thread ) want the national team to be at least 90% - 96% foreign born players..

players like iheanacho, osimhen, chukwueze, oshoala started from Nigeria with poor training facilities.. while players like dessers, aina, okoye started with at least above basic training facilities so naturally they are also good to be selected...

if you add "no matter your place of birth" to the issue, Nigeria can pick 30 players who are foreign born and that will totally freeze out players like iheanacho, osimhen, chukwueze, oshoala..

I am saying Nigerians born ( and trained ) in Nigeria but playing abroad should be given a quota of at least 50% because the amount of foreign born players Nigeria has can permanently sideline the foreign based players..
So this is what you're afraid of? What makes the ones born in Naija more entitled to the National team?

If you start this, you'll not be different from English fans insulting Saka.

I'm sure if they all "looked typical Nigerian" you'll not have much problems, but the differences in complexion is beginning to worry you a bit.

There are still very talented players from Nigeria that will still make it to the team no matter what, but even at that, it doesn't matter who plays. We need the best players to move forward.

Yes she is. There is something about her that i likes is that she is light weight like those america players

that means players like Ahmed Musa, odegbami who has built training centers/ academies in Nigeria should not build such things but wait for the government to build such

Please could someone explain to me why football games kicking off at night in Europe have full sunlight.

Noticed it in late Premier league games and now the Genk vs Club Brugge which started at 19:45 WAT, 20:45 in Belgium is in broad daylight.

Am I missing something?

Even Okobi and Kanu are light as well as some others. There's one that was invited newly from Watford. She's probably the smallest person in that team.

Kwame Nkrumah said "I was not born in Africa but Africa was born in me". Bob Marley was actually half caste (his father was a white man) but he fought for Africa all his life with his music.
Diasporan Africans contribute to the development of Africa (and in this case Nigeria) more than even the native born ones.
A lot of our foreign born players can actually build academies in Nigeria. Who told you Leon Balogun or Tammy Abraham will not be interested in building football academies, investing in our league or even starting companies in Nigeria? They simply have to be stimulated.
Diasporan Africans are helping Africa in many ways. According to a website "$25 billion annual remittance by Nigerians in the Diaspora was more than 80percent of the country’s annual budget and formed about 6percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)”.

Its about who you feel allegiance for and it is a thing of the mind.
Even foriegn borns that did not play for us can invest in our Economy.
As per the issue of playing for a country, Anybody can play for anybody.
Emmanuel Olisadebe played for Poland even though he was born and bred in Nigeria and even played in the Nigerian league
Holland actually wanted Salomon Kalou to play for them when he was young.
So it doesn't allways work like that.
Nigeria needs her disaporan Africans in order to grow and develop in all aspects of life

the same Nkrumah deported Nigerians..

there are also thousands of Nigerians in the diaspora who don't send anything to Nigeria... when I say it now I mean both foreign born Nigerians and Nigerians born in Nigeria but who left Nigeria.

the energy you guys use in trying to discredit Nigerians born in Nigeria must be reduced to its lowest minimum...

Maybe you just feel like talking too much this weekend.

I'm probably Onuachu's biggest hypeman on this thread. You can check through my history here. I've been praising and posting Osimhen pictures here more than so many people including you. No one has ever discredited Oshoala and Ajibade here including me. In fact, I've been Ajibade's fan right from her football juggling days to U-20.

So who brings up purported issues against homegrown players if not your inferiority complex?

Just park one side abeg, you haven't made any sense here since your first comment.

I have been on this thread for years still haven't seen anyone here canvassing for a quota of 90% for foreign born players even our own Komekn still esteem some home grown players like Ighalo etal...his major hype is innit boys

So no one bro except you that want the NFF to reserve a small quota for foreign born players and large quota like 80% for home groom players

You need to change your thinking because we need the nigerians doing well outside to come develop this country and it's gonna grow in numbers as years roll by because Nigerians in large numbers are relocating now and trust me they'll always identify with Nigeria... like me i go whisk soon but any of kids that choose play football or other sport must definitely play for Nigeria... right from childhood i will make them love the country

That has to do with longitude. Latitude has to do with location wrt to the equator. The Earth has a titlted rotation causing upper locations to receive longer sunlight at certain times of the year. It maintains the tilt facing Polaris (North Star) so the orientation of the tilt changes wrt earth, and day length changes with times of the year. This is more noticeable at polar regions.

Now I need 100 dollars ASAP for my geography lesson cheesy

Wtf are you saying!

Sports should be an absolute meritocracy!!

There is no room for 99.9% of sports participants at the highest levels!!!

The Nigerian basketball team going to the Olympics the world is raving about is made up entirely of foreign born Nigerians. So what?? Local players want to play in the team too? Sure, work hard become good enough to make the team and you'll be there too!!!!

Luke Amos recently came to Ekiti to handle some projects and development programs there which he sponsored, he isn't even a Nigerian international. Aina as a 19 year old before he was capped sent football boots and jerseys to the less fortunate in Lagos.

Valencia have made a very low bid for Umar Sadiq, Sevilla who is his first choice have not made any offer, according to David Alonso.

They view the striker's valuation as ridiculous.

Sadiq is not convinced by the salary offer of Valencia. Sevilla are considering Joselu Mato as alternative.
